  1. That was one of the reasons I retired all those years ago, it got to the point where people wanted me dead at the beginning, just in case. Really ruins the fun. For me at least. It's also why I will never play anything but anonymous games, I just need to work on being more anonymous. 4 wins in 4 games. Yeah, I'm definitely never playing anything that isn't anonymous, other than Bob's upcoming Mystery, anonymous or not. I'm no threat in those. Good times.
  2. He's in Wales for a week and won't be back in time. The cult will have to go on without him.
  3. Favorite? My Fabusigfig is a fox, so let's go with that. Bring it back? Yes, but with themes. FabuPirates, FabuSpace, FabuAdventurers! Least favorite Mafia role? Pretty much anything you give me "randomly."
  4. No no, you're confusing me for Darkdragon. We're easy to tell apart, I didn't have balls, let alone furry ones and the only time I ever gave Omrom a bath was in a lake with a golden statue as his back scrubber.
  5. Silly hippo. Now give me some of that ice cream or I'll send the aliens after you! Oh, look, I've run out of words. *cough* I would have had a blast in that role, it's designed to bring balance to the force, and we all know how well that goes.
  6. Every single person is their own faction. You misspelled bloodbath. Everything inside me says this is a horrible mistake. Sign me up...
  7. It wasn't really supposed to be available, it was just something I was testing for a streamlined nearly-stock version of our skins. At the current time, it has a banner, but is otherwise back to it's purest form. I've made it available again, look for the drop down, it should be back for everyone who wants it.
  8. Me too! Turned out he was just the misunderstood hero of the dragons.
  9. Absolutely! We're gonna need more dragon emoticons and a rule against speech impediments. Worse than tubas.
  10. Since this is anonymous, I'll be appearing as Hinckley for this game. I am starting now. Use your imagination. Saturday??? Ridiculous! And I hate that emote! Fwom fwom fwomma fwomma fwom
  11. What is the temperament of a Dragon? Oral or anal? Trust me, it makes a big difference. Who rules the forest? Furries. Always the furries. Roll for initiative. *rolls around on all fours* I don't see the point of this at all...
  12. He could do it while anxiously waiting to post day conclusions for the impatient amongst us.
  13. Was freeing Redbeard required, or was he just trying to distract you with something shiny, only to discover that it made you even crazier? Some of them even deserved it. Oh! I should share a couple of PM moments! So back in 2009, I made this to post in a game, I think. Maybe the discussion after a game. Whatever it was, the witch hat was carried over from Witch Hunt Mafia and the tuba is impossible to explain, yet here we are again... And then these gems. How did we make it to the end?
  14. I was only worried that you were required to be a lone survivor who would kill me in the conclusion. I think Bob sensed that when he had you very specifically say you weren't going to kill me.
  15. You crazy kids and your mafia. It's been a long time... Last I saw some of you was when I hosted Aperture Academy with Darkdragon. Get off my lawn. Turret deploying. Preparing to dispense product. A lot has changed since I stopped playing and honestly, to beat a dead horse, the amount of reliance on the meta is shocking and takes the joy out of playing. It's almost like speed-running a video game, sure, you get to the end quickly, but did you really get to see anything along the way? Was it fun, or just an exercise in mechanics? If you get to the point of relying on the wiki to tell you if specific elements fit this role or that, you leave out the mystery and discovery that comes from actually playing. I remember some of the meta from those distant days, I also remember some of it differently than it is now, and maybe than it was then. I may or may not have eventually made a point of frustrating people by intentionally misremembering the meta just because I dislike the concept and don't want to rely on it. Hopefully in the future, more hosts will see the joy in confusing games by intrpducing unexpected, but still fair, variations on roles, just to keep things fresh and surprising. Another important part of the whole experience is in the roleplay, which there wasn't nearly enough of. I blame Hinck for that. I don't, really, if it hadn't been for his tuba, there would have been almost no roleplay at all. That tuba carried a lot of weight, and was a lot of weight to carry, and he managed to fwom it for all it was worth. And then some. Thanks, Bob, it was a great Bob experience, as it always is, once the early walls of text were reduced in volume. And thanks again to our loyal vigilante who valiantly fixed that problem. I wish I could remember your name. I wish I could remember any name in this game.
  16. It was interesting to watch, would have enjoyed more time to play but I'm pretty much guaranteed a night one investigation, which means that if I'm scum and not the godfather, I can't survive long past the first night. *shakes fist at metagaming Fangy* It was the most unfortunate set of events possible with regards to your mistake, I had been contacted by a tracker/watcher (jluck) and he knew I had investigated, so I had no other role claim option. That would have been fine, if the person I had investigated wasn't supposed to be the actual town cop. I had investigated Brickie, thinking it would be funny if the game had a police dog. Sadly, he wasn't the actual town cop, but the wrong info meant that I believed he was, so when Fangy popped up to point the finger at me, I thought that Brickie had investigated me and couldn't try to build a quick alliance with him behind the scenes. Since I had every reason to believe that Fangy had been given the info and wasn't the actual cop, I even sent him a PM warning him not to trust whoever was giving him that info, not knowing that it was his own role. I wish I had gotten any other wrong result, I could have tried to take out Fangy and delay my own death, which would have possibly speeded things along later, though I was pretty much destined to die in the first few days no matter what. I can guarantee it would have been a lot more fun for one of us if I'd had the chance to put up a proper fight. Whatever the case, it all worked out in the end. Kudos to Lord Duvors for playing the ending very smoothly. It would have been easy to mess that up, but you managed it in a very tough situation. Thanks to the hosts for putting this together. That said, if I was looking to give any specific future hosting advice, I'd just say to keep it really simple. You think you tried to incorporate a few things that were a little contradictory and it seemed to cause unnecessary confusion for the players. On the plus side, that made me suspect a hidden neutral, so at least that kept it exciting.
  17. When I came to this town, I knew I could make my fortune here, and I did. Then Burpamount came along and started eating away at it. I was furious. I vowed to stop them before they could destroy us all. I went out last night to do just that, had some reasonable success, then ended up with the surprise of my life. I came home and found an envelope of pictures. So many pictures. Memories of good times that we don't need to get too specific about. I knew what it meant, I knew what I was about to become. I sat down with my last bottle of whiskey and drank myself to sleep. When I woke up, the pictures were gone, and in their place, a note. It was from them. I knew it would be. "You work for us now." I laughed at how foolish they had been. You don't convert me on night 1, everyone knows I'm going to be investigated and discovered immediately. I am the most worthless night 1 conversion possible. They blew their best shot out of stupidity. They gave up a kill to make the most amateur move possible. If they had waited one night, they would have inherited a power role with connections to another, it would have been a disaster for the town. I wasn't particularly surprised when the votes started coming in, nor was I going to try to stop it, I had no means to do so, they had screwed things up royally. You can't come back from that. I hadn't done anything suspicious on day 1 or during the night, I had nothing to defend, and no way to contradict a result that was absolutely true. I'm going to finish this whiskey now and wait for my fate. When they make the movie of my life, be kind, I never asked for this.
  18. Claiming just means the scum would kill me instead, there's not much point in that. If we're going to kill ourselves, we might as well just do it, at least something might be gained by it. And no, I'm not a vig, but I am something helpful to the town and was witnessed doing it successfully, which means I can't be a killer or anything negative or they would have found a way to get that info out. Instead, for the sake of the town, I do not want that person coming forward to try to stop this, or we just lose 2 roles when the town still decides that "killing anyone is a move forward" as they already have. It's still funny that 2 of the main instigators of this bandwagon have admitted privately that they don't believe in it, but hey, we're getting things done, right, town? Always a brilliant plan to take the word of someone with one "result" and no way to verify it, or the people they are claiming it to. Makes perfect sense. Carry on.
  19. Ah, a magical "source" who would have no reason to trust you, and you would have no reason to trust, just in time to save you from people wondering about your incredible illogical behaviour today. Good timing? Bad scum. I will tell you without question that if you even have a source and they aren't scum, they're wrong. Either way, you'll die for it tomorrow, which is kind of a shame if you're just being deceived. When that time comes and they're proven wrong, name your source and at least give the town a little help after this disaster you're bringing us. Vote: Glenn Clutch (WhiteFang) The only person who could counter this would be the real cop, and they would be a fool to step forward. That's probably the whole point of this gambit.
  20. You want to hear from "the night action people?" Really? That's your idea of a town strategy, to get the people with the power killed early. I must admit, that's almost enough to get my vote, if nothing else comes along, it's certainly the scummiest thing I've seen so far. Well, plus supporting a vote you mock earlier in the same post. Oh, and the idea that somehow lynching a townie will give us some forward movement or stop "a kill tonight, or a conversion, or whatever." You're really missing on all points... So let's see, what amazing defense can I make against no actual charges? I used to be the biggest agent in this town, people lined up at my door hoping to be the next big thing. Then those Burpamount bastards came along and started stealing the best actors and parts for themselves. If I ever want to get back to my former glory, and the style to which I have become accustomed to living in, I need to help stop them. It's going to be hard to do that if I'm dead, but at this point, what can anyone say to prove what side they are on. How about you? Tell us about your contribution to all of this. Let's all take turns and make our case, at least people would be talking, maybe we'll get lucky.
  21. The problem with "putting someone under the fire" is that you need an actual fire. Confident of a vote that you call "purely conjecture?" I'm still left with nothing to comment on except how silly your logic is. No, wait, you say there is "no logic" to it either. So it's just a "get a reaction" vote, as opposed to "sitting around to wait." I understand that, but the way you've done it, the only thing I have to react to is how silly the vote is, so I'm not sure what can be gained from it. I'm certainly not going to respond as some would with a vote for you, I have no idea if you're town or not, so I can't tell if this is a sincere (but poor) effort to start discussion, or a blatant distraction.
  22. Man I hate this version of IPB, it makes replying to posts like this a hassle... I'm fine with lynching the inactive when it's all we have to go on, especially when he was here and could have replied multiple times, and someone even went so far as to message him to try to get him to do so. Are you saying that being silent would be a good way for scum to stay safe on day one? I think that would be a dangerous precedent. As for the second part, all this babbling, especially about what the scum may or may not be able to do, is fluff, designed to look helpful when it really isn't. I fully encourage poking and prodding people, but am not going to reward idle speculation as if it is helpful, that's pretty much a scum tactic right there. Claiming that my view has changed in any way, when it hasn't, is another fairly scummy tactic, isn't it?
  23. I highly doubt he had any suspicions or thoughts on other players, given that he didn't bother participating. That said, I find it a little suspicious that you point out the people who concerned you in his vote, but that doesn't include the ones who changed their votes to make the lynch happen, 3 of the last 4 votes. Just one more thing to consider. Sadly, I'm not sure this whole discussion is really getting us anywhere, all it basically confirms is that we still need to consider everyone a suspect. At the same time, speculating on what the scum can or can't do is equally pointless, we came out of a night where it looks like nothing happened (which is clearly impossible), so we're left to hope that there are some town power roles taking action behind the scenes.
  24. Mr. Fosstud had the whole day to defend himself and was seen in the area during that time. He chose not to participate. Voting for him should have triggered him to say something, anything, and then we would have had the opportunity to evaluate what he said. He didn't give us that chance and suffered the consequences. It was the most logical vote for the day, and certainly better than "he voted for me" and other petty squabbles.
