  1. Wait a minute, how does that work? If Tammo is scum, it confirms that you're not insane, it doesn't mean Draggy wasn't a cop, he absolutely was one. Have no idea if he was sane or not because he died before getting to use it, but that's not the point. You're not making sense there. That worries me about your other judgements.
  2. To be honest, killing the redirector role is the best reason to lynch you, it's an incredibly dangerous role that the scum can't be allowed to control. Killing the vig means the town has nothing left to fight back with except voting. Making sure it can't be redirected makes it potentially useful. Simple as that. On top of that, verifying or denying the cop's sanity is a pretty good side effect of the whole thing. I don't like kills to test theories, but I don't see much alternative here. I know that my own loyalty is under suspicion, so I will offer to either choose whatever hat the town agrees on, or not choose at all and take whatever is left at the end of the day tomorrow, assuming I live that long.
  3. Too many posts while I was sleeping, I'll just answer what I remember instead of quoting constantly. Draggy claimed to me, and I to him, because it's mafia. We also did the usual "if you're scum, convert me!" routine that we do every game. It was well before the end of the day. It doesn't mean we believed each other, but I don't think he was lying about this. If I was scum, I would have had no reason to privately share his claim with Tammo and can think of a few ways I could have used the situation to cause a lot of damage as opposed to simple confusion. This is my town game. I never said I was good as town.
  4. I both told you that directly and answered it above and do not agree that TPRU was "obvious town" in any way. I don't think anyone was obvious town yesterday and today isn't looking any better. However, I'm starting to get a funny feeling that my original suspicion of you was correct and that I shouldn't have been so quick to dismiss it as crazy. A good test of that was telling you Draggy's role and watching you run here to post it as quickly as you could, hoping to discredit the report that you came up scum in an investigation as opposed to carefully considering what releasing that information publicly would do to the town. I was concerned enough to only share it privately, you didn't seem to care. That is pretty scummy looking, to me. It's also worth considering the redirector role itself. You said: Because it helps the scum dramatically and even the newest player can see that. The vig is absolutely worthless with the redirector around, it doesn't get more obvious. As for the kills, my redirection may not have mattered, you were statistically likely to be targeting a townie, whether you're one or not. And that is the big question for me now, what exactly you are. Kind of the point. He asked you something, you answered poorly, he dropped it and only raised an issue when I said I suspected you, and even then he didn't agree that you had answered poorly. We're talking day 1 suspicions here, it isn't going to be overwhelming, but it was something.
  5. Or Brickelodeon's cop is real and Draggy was insane. I have no doubt he wasn't fake, at least. This isn't getting any better. No, it went where it was supposed to, I just messed up. I had debated between the two of you and concluded that you could be working together (don't even ask how I came to that), which made him the more important target as an experienced player. If he had come back as scum today, I could have revealed all this and felt some security in your alignment and pushed for that vote. It all went wrong. Since Tammo doesn't control the vig kill hat, it would be risky to claim he's scum if he isn't, the reward wouldn't be that great. Which still leaves the possibility that Brick is lying or that the claimed cop is insane.
  6. I was so friggin' sure until I read it again.
  7. It's worse than that, sort of. When my PM came in for today's selection, I reread what I did last night and realise that I've screwed up. Yesterday, when I voted for Mencot, I did that partially in hopes of seeing someone come to his defense. I took TPRU's questioning of my reasons as that defense and somewhere in the back of my mind, I was thinking of him when I sent my action. That means I got TPRU killed and makes half of this discussion useless. Honestly, it might be best to just kill me today. My hat is useless and clearly my attention span is as well, so nothing of value will be lost. I'm sincerely sorry. It still doesn't answer some of the mysteries of the day, like whether or not I'm the third figure as the redirector, but it does at least identify which kill is which, I guess.
  8. Why did they kill Draggy? He had a 4 vote penalty on him, how stupid was he as a target? Unless I don't understand the role I had, if I had somehow guessed who the cop was and redirected them, they would still be told the person they actually investigated, not just the results from someone else. Am I wrong here? He's still alive, so it couldn't have.
  9. Which leads to the next part. I thought you were suspicious enough yesterday that I came to the conclusion that I should use it on you, hoping you were scum and I'd actually save a townie. Who did I pick as your new target? Mencot, who I voted for yesterday. This is going to get interesting.
  10. Funny you would guess that and conveniently get the item. Only problem with the theory is that I was unable to use it and don't know why. So that means you are either telling the truth and your item was stolen, or you're lying and learned my role from your scum team.
  11. You're clearly going to have to make a good case for his lynch, but at least in terms of the Proton Pack, it isn't something that will really help the town to have, so in that sense it would be fine if it died with a scum. If that turns out to be the case and he doesn't reveal it, I will.

  14. I feel like you asked some reasonable questions and instead of a solid answer he fell back on the "I'm new!" response and then voted for someone who seems to be making legitimate "I'm new!" kinds of mistakes. Like I say, it's not very solid, but I think it's better than the others who currently have votes against them.
  15. Still relying on the blind trust that comes from revealing the vig hat and actually adds a slight bit more potential for abuse since a series of unconfirmed vigs are now given the chance to make sure it doesn't slip out of their control, and with the blessing of the group. "We're doing all we can to help, shame we keep killing townies." Let's just hope I really am being paranoid there.
  16. I'd claim to be an FBI agent, but that's me. What I've learned in the past is that judging games based on what I would do isn't always effective because I'm crazy and enjoy making things overly complicated for the sake of fun. That said, my theory is probably a bit of that and not likely, it's just something I had to consider and still nagging me, despite reassuring myself that it's unlikely.
  17. It's a little odd to me that Walter made a good case for the town lynching him, almost had me convinced, then there was a sudden surge in votes away from him, leaving a potentially dangerous item in circulation. It's too widespread to be the scum trying to save him or the item, but I really don't know what to make of it. If the thief item survives, we're going to need to discuss who takes it tomorrow, since it could easily be used for so much harm. For voting, at the end of day one it all comes down to gut feeling. No one was ridiculously scummy, but out of everyone, your answers left me the most uneasy, so ... Vote: Falcon (Mencot)
  18. I'm going to put this out here for consideration. If I was scum, which I am not, and fortunate enough to pull the vig role for day 1, I'd probably want to find a way to let it be known, have people assume I was town, and then use that trust to manipulate the kills of the future vigs for days. Those kills would, naturally, all be townies, and everyone would shrug and say "it's a tough role, mistakes will happen, they always do." And then some number of days later, my team would grab it and make the final necessary kill to win. Not saying that's happening here, but it keeps nagging at me.
  19. I would agree about not publicizing the target, it opens up too many opportunities for abuse. Beyond that, I don't have a particularly good grasp of what types of roles we're likely to see in this situation but imagine that the general consensus is right and revealing them if you're going to die is probably a good idea. Nobody is appearing particularly scummy to me today, but that's not really a surprise for day 1.

As for costumes and roles being related, I don't see any chance of that, it goes against the natural order of these things.

  22. Starlord here, checking in to make sure you're all behaving or else I'll have to bring justice to you!
  23. I'm not sure "adult" and "Hinck" have ever been used that closely before.
