I actually prefer the alternate model shown in the Cafe Corner instructions instead of Market Street, though I think they are clearly inspired by the same general idea. The size and shape isn't really bad, but that whole section to the left is just a little too odd looking and I don't like the top unless you turn it 90 degrees (which it can do). I fully intend to piece together the alternate model from Cafe Corner (it's also shown in some detail in the issue of Brickjournal where Cafe Corner premiered) at some point and can't decide if I'll ever get Market Street. When I ordered Cafe Corner, Market Street was backordered until October, a state I assume it's still in. I could go out to the LEGO store and pick one up, probably, and if I do finally make it out there (I've been planning to go for a week), it would be double loyalty stamps. Decisions, decisions, and my City entry still sits languishing, waiting for various orders to arrive and make it's completion possible.

Very nice work! *y* I enjoyed that one even more than the first one. It seemed like a more complete story, and your photography is definitely improving. I look forward to more of your efforts :-) Whack On! *y*

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars minifigures?

I probably should have picked Darth Vader. He was my first. You never forget your first. *wub* -
Ultimate Star Wars Minifig Challenge: The Finals

Darth's head spins loose, he can't control his sabre properly, and he still kicks Kit's megabloks just using the force. -
I have to agree that they've gone too far. Why just the other day I saw a minifig driving down the road and I thought, "where did he get his license?" :-P And Joe, SW started in '99, not '97 and I don't think Batman is that well designed in terms of capturing all those possible characters. We seem to be getting more reissued minifigs than even the SW line. As for Indy, it's a timeless story and full of action. We've already seen the Indy minifig and it's a winner, just like the line will be (though I suspect it won't end up being as many sets as we'd like). Harry Potter is over after this wave, so no worries there. Avatar sets are good for parts. It seemed like a long shot and I'm sure it's over. Spongebob doesn't interest me in terms of the show connection, but they aren't bad for parts. I don't know how they sell, so it's hard to determine if they're worth continuing. Spiderman was a mostly boring series far too connected to the whole Studio line to work out well. Same reason the monster line failed. I still can't understand how vampires, mummies, mad scientists and such didn't sell better. Seemed like everything Studio touched turned to megabloks.

As much as I wish LEGO would just produce exactly what we say, I realise the impossibility of that when I read comments about the various dragons to appear throughout the years. Basically, everyone likes one type and hates the other two, and there doesn't seem to be a general concensus on which one that is. I don't mind the skellie armour, actually. It had to look like something, it represents them well, and it could serve for a fierce human faction if one didn't like the skellies. In contrast, it seems like half the people I've read either love or hate the new heads. Overall, I'm impressed with the direction of things. But yeah, the troll does appear to suck. :-P

Hi Will from Australia. I'm not named Will, or from Australia, but I do share your love of Pirates! It's always the LEGO that brings us together. Please be sure to let us see how your work is going, it's always nice to see something new. Galleon On! *y*

That's the best kind of birthday, the kind you don't see coming. It means you don't feel a year older. Just don't look in the mirror :-P Seriously, may it be a day that begins a year of great times and plenty of LEGO. Oh, and you do plan to bring some sweets back for us too, right? ;-)

THE OLD Official Eurobricks Straightshooters List

DAMN! I thought I had the secret knock right. It's one long, two short, a whack on the knob (oh I didn't say that) and three times on the knockers (my, what huge knockers you have), isn't it? *wacko* -
I had pyjamas like that once. No, I didn't really. ;-)

The story has become almost touching. Actually, there seems to be a lot of touching going on at this point :-P I especially like the Love Boat angle, though I miss the appropriate guest appearances. Next week, tune in for a very special episode featuring Dorothy Malone, Virginia Mayo, Lloyd Nolan and Soupy Sales! *slosh* Oh crap, it's like all of these threads are haunted! *runs like hell* *skull*

WTH? I only looked in because I saw Hinckley looking in, so I figured there must be some party people here, and I find out you're all making trades and such. Where does this stuff get arranged and why haven't I known about it? -

In an odd case of coincidence, I was listening to: Murray Head - One Night in Bangkok as I read: This thread which took a sudden and potentially disturbing turn in that direction. *sing* I get my kicks above the waistline, sunshine... *sing*

Perhaps, in your infinite wisdom, you have some suggestions for making the current LEGO line better? As for the rest, it's only 5 sentences long but I haven't got all night to correct your mistakes. Would this be a good place for ... Mod On! -
Ultimate Star Wars Minifig Challenge: The Finals
Shadows replied to captaintau's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Well, we technically saw this battle at a slightly earlier stage and Obi ended up unconscious, thus would have been killed. I don't actually think he became a better jedi from the beginning to the end of Episode 3, but then one wonders how he beat Anakin after losing to Dooku. I think it's because he had spent so much time with Anakin that he could predict his movements. He didn't have that benefit with Dooku, and to me at least, it means he loses again. Tyrannus wins, and it isn't a huge challenge. Bounty Hunters vs. their Bounty next? -
*whispers to Hinckley* He's already trying to rig the contest in his favour ... |-/

Ultimate Star Wars Minifig Challenge: The Finals
Shadows replied to captaintau's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm up for it. I think we could get some fairly creative writing out of a battle of the bounty hunters, or maybe a 2 on 2. Han and Chewie vs. Jabba and Bib Fortuna. Ok, bad example ;-) -
A way to make a few quick bucks on ebay.

He didn't say it sold, he said it was on eBay. People can list things at any price they wish. Many of them fail to realise the expense involved when that $50k item doesn't sell.
