  1. I looked closer! And I learned that you can strike out a smiley, who knew? This is turning into dueling edits! As for being eaten by a dinosaur ... ;-)
  2. Great setup! I like everything but that Cafe Corner knockoff (knock it off!) >:-) Actually, I think it would serve well as a wild west hotel with some modification. Might be a way to save it. I could use some of those red railings. It's amazing to look at the corner of the layout in that first shot where the new Creator house sits next to the old 80's (?) yellow house and realise just how the LEGO view of a house has changed through the years. As much as I like the big one, I miss the simplicity of the old type. Oh, and a girls bucket *wub* What were they thinking making those for such a short time? All in all, a fascinating look into the inner LEGO sanctum of everyone's favourite starship cargo ship engineer and walrus. Hey... I don't see a single walrus in there. :-( I stand corrected, there he is welcoming Hinckley and Jocko to town, very nice indeed!
  3. This one really isn't particularly funny, I just thought it was kind of neat (and the title made me scratch my head wondering when LEGO had made such a thing, but it's a custom of course). http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=270165197701 I wouldn't spend that much on it, but it does seem kind of neat. I only vaguely remember one of these places decades ago and then it closed here. I understand they still exist out west.
  4. We now interrupt our regularly scheduled program for this commercial message: http://tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=8040 Coming in 2008: The series that made our very own Captain love the sea! The Love Boat What do you mean this is spam? It most certainly isn't! ;-)
  5. No no, not arms, her legs and head. He never specified what he did with the rest of her, and I'm not sure I want to ask :-X
  6. I'll be more than a bit annoyed if they do show up in the store before those of us who preordered 6 months ago get them. I'll also be annoyed if they're the #'d edition and buying it in the store is not only cheaper after double stamps. Bad enough we've been told to forget getting a gold C3P0 in them (sort of cancels out the "all 2007 sets except battle packs" claim). Yep. I'm already expecting to be very annoyed.
  7. It was kind of funny though watching them scramble ;-) It did add a bit of the unexpected to the whole thing, though I'm surprised they didn't throw you overboard for wasting whiskey. :-/
  8. Advertised! You don't even have it in your own sig :-P :-D
  9. Thanks for an informative and entertaining interview! *y* No no, it's ok, you're not nuts now. That would imply that at some point you weren't nuts. :-P
  10. It's similar to the early 70s plastic, comparing it to some of the old flat trees I have. That explains it. I'm not completely surprised, I'd heard that the TYCO stuff was fairly close in quality, probably why they had to stop making it, not enough profit. Thanks for the answer! *y* Sounds like a party! >:-) I would actually consider myself pretty loyal to the brand. I wouldn't mix in other clone bricks, and I don't expect to mix this tree in either. As for customs or homemade parts, I don't believe in them either. Don't worry though, the other 4 are perfectly legitimate LEGO product and are already being used :-) That last one ... it's future is uncertain. For now, it'll go in "the bin of wayward brands" with all the rest of the clones that sneak in through eBay orders claiming to be 100% LEGO. >:-(
  11. Welcome to Eurobricks, Paul. That's a serious array of fire equipment, quite impressive! Should we take this as an indication of your current or future vocation? If my own future venture into potentially fake LEGO tree pyromania gets out of hand, I'll be sure to give you a call! ;-) Siren On! *y*
  12. You're crazy! *wacko* What exactly possessed you to turn that set into this? Oh, right, you're crazy! *wacko* Makes me think we need a "Least expected use of an existing set to make something else" contest! Crazy On! *y*
  13. If they keep this up, your arteries won't be so lucky :-P Wish we'd get so lucky here. No, when we have McDonalds promotions it's always pure junk. >:-(
  14. Surprisingly, these LEGO trees don't always have a logo at all. I tried that after checking Bricklink, Peeron, and Lugnet, and noticed a lack of logos on any of them. Thinking I'd picked up an entire lot of fakes, I dug out some old trees that I'd bought directly from S@H and ... no logo. Go figure. I just checked a LEGO guide I have and it doesn't show this style either, but it does mention that in 1974 when this style of tree was introduced, they were of a stiffer plastic, like this is, but the pictures all look like the current type round base. I'm smelling a forest fire coming >:-) 8-
  15. I attached the image because to this day I don't know what IPB Image means and I want it to appear. It isn't that big (15k). So, back rightmost tree. Square base, not as vertically slotted as typical but it does have indentations all the way around, slightly taller than it's most similar counterpart. Despite the picture, it's basically the same colour. Seems like everything points to fake, but it just nags at me for some reason. It's a slightly less rubbery plastic than the current trees, but seems to be decent quality and has excellent grip. Either way, I bought the lot for the Cypress/Cedar (why do those get called by both names?) and don't care that much if it is a fake, I'd just like to know whether it gets to live a happy little life in LEGOland or it gets burned in a tragic, unexpected forest fire. >:-) This would also be a good place to post and discuss any of your own questionable pieces, should you have any. It's a good way to learn more about what's out there.
  16. Tears for Fears - Everybody Wants to Rule the World then Squeeze - Tempted and Bj
  17. Welcome to the Wild, Wonderful World of Whacktastitudinalism! An excellent first effort, especially in capturing the whack angle and the turn of his head. He never saw it coming. With your hat backwards and obviously forestman attire and his potentially wealthy appearance, this could be subtitled: "Robbin' in the Hood" X-D Very nice work! *y*
  18. Very cool speeder transition, it really does have that "we're rebels and we're doing the best we can with what we've got" feel. The thing that the prequels missed, the worn universe so nicely shown in the original trilogy and represented in your speeders *y*
  19. Oh man, that does sound like a fun part, minus the dancing. I dance like a pirate on a wooden leg. A broken wooden leg. With termites. *pirate* Shame we can't see any of it... :-( Now I'm picturing Fritz Feld in one of his classic waiter roles. Except you're taller. And younger. Why does it seem like I talk to myself in these posts sometimes? I should stop that. There I go again. Commenting on it isn't helping, it's just making me do it more. Like that. Oh, Fritz Feld! I know why I'm thinking of him. He frequently played German or Belgian roles, usually just vaguely enough that you weren't certain which he was. Well, in one episode of the 70's Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew series, they end up in Romania and he's the bellman at the hotel. I had some point to make here, I know I did. Right! So, when he gets flustered, he starts to slip up and say things he shouldn't, including references to his sinister past, especially in referring to the desk captain as kommandant. Now that I think about it, this isn't related at all. *wacko* So... do you get to sing too? If you think my dancing is bad, you should hear my singing.
  20. What's your latest show? Oh, and cool pathway there *y* and it looks like a lot of fun to be had by all, Riley included. :-D And I think it's gonna be a long long time Till touch down brings me round again to find I'm not the man they think I am at home Oh no no no I'm a rocket man Rocket man, burning out his fuse up here alone Rocket Ras On! *y*
  21. Yeah, sure, you just tell me how to grow a pair of these: I have them on order from not one but two different sellers and neither one will get me invoiced! >:-( To think I'm being held back by .40 worth of crappy red slopes, but they're vital. As it is I couldn't get the sand green ones and will have to modify half ... oh nevermind, I'm whining again. 8-| In a pinch I'll ditch the whole thing and build something else. I can work miracles! X-D
  22. As I learned in another thread, Magic Box is a Belgian (I think) McDonald's type of place. I hope 'Quick' (bottom corner of the new packages) isn't another. I'd like to imagine that their existance in the S@H parts inventory means they'll see some form of US release. Maybe we'll get one from Brick Master. It'd be about time for something worthwhile from them.
  23. Instead it leaves you moaning and groaning here :-P *shoots you in the other hip flask* >:-) No, really, it was less the flask and more the shooting. I figured there were rules in place to prevent extreme responses or else someone would say, "Oh look, the monster is in the window" *instantly pulls hidden harpoon gun and puts one through it's head* "Well, that takes care of that." :-|
  24. Oh geez, the guilt! :-$ :-| :-/ I'll try. I really will. :-)
  25. Oh crap. I'm not going to make it. I don't think I can get the last parts in time... I'm a goner, go on without me ... :'-( :-X *skull*
