Star Wars Ultimate Minifig Fighting Championship
Shadows replied to captaintau's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Problem is, he doesn't exist as a minifig. If this were extended to the video games, we could add Boushh, and I know I've always wanted to see Leia's Boushh somewhere ... (what? WHAT? don't look at me like that, you're the ones with the dirty minds) ;-) -
That's great news, those were all Euro fast food promos at one time and now we'll get a shot at them. I hope they make the lifeguard one as well, it was the best of all. *wub* *wub* *wub* And yes, these come up at S@H in the parts replacement system. :-) Thanks for the info, legomilk! *y*

Yeah, I saw that f-bomb as well and thought, "wow, TV M", I'm not sure I'm old enough to tune in here ;-) As for the story ... I love the fact that the former dead get to return and that it was commented on (Stinky? Ghost!). I didn't care for the shooting / hip flask resolution of it too much, but I guess it was the only way to salvage a situation that needed to stay within the bounds of the intended plot. Oh, and don't trust those guys in the boat. Come on, they're good samaritans out diving in the middle of the worst fog you've ever seen and then they hear a distress call that you made from a broken radio. Plus they really don't think it's a good idea to leave because of the fog? With the biggest radar you've ever seen? Yeah, ok, like they're not setting you up or anything. You know what the story is missing? Isaac, serving up drinks by the pool.

That's great! *y* I'm still laughing! :-D

Oops. I didn't have you in my sig. :-$ Fixed! Wow, that thing is getting big. The sig too. :-P

Wonder if that means we can look forward to a trans clear head with skellie printing. Hopefully old skellie printing because red eyes would look idiotic unless it's supposed to have rubies in it. I'm not impressed by the water sounding nature of it either. Indy is supposed to be dirty and dusty, not diving. I really hope the title is a bit misleading.

Firefox all the way. I come here, I click "View New Posts", I middleclick each one into a new tab, they all load at lightning speed even on my poor connection, and then I go thread to thread harassing enlightening everyone. Pure win. Plugins to extract embedded media, Flashget integration for mass downloads, the option to switch to an IE tab if forced to by bad page coding, ChatZilla for IRC, Image zoom for instant closeup pic examination, Winamp integration, a pile of handy search engines. If it came with free LEGO, I'd marry it! *wub* Actually, I have it default on Blingo for searches, and I've won $25 from Amazon before (and iTunes $ and some misc junk), so it does come with free LEGO. Not to really advertise it, but since it's just a Google engine where they track your searches, there's really no harm in joining (and you can win some crazy stuff). Join Blingo now and you can be my friend *sweet* , or don't. :'-( Up to you. ;-) Well, always knew I'd end up with a fox ... Firefox Marriage On! *y*

A Guide To The Pirates Minifigures - Part I - The Pirates
Shadows replied to TalonCard's topic in LEGO Pirates
Just got around to reading the article. Very nicely done, the perfect mix of information and entertainment. *y* I look forward to your future efforts. Oh, only one thing I would have included, or maybe it would be best after you've introduced all the characters: solid vs hollow stud heads since the change occured during the Pirates era. Do you also intend to carry this beyond minifigs, into the various hulls, sails, and cannons? -
So what you're saying is that we should be sure to stay at his place if we happen to be visiting Paris anytime soon? I mean, knowing that my sleeping arrangements and food are taken care of, it might be an affordable trip. Cheap Holiday On! *y*

I'd take the Republic Cruiser or a couple of copies of Hoth. You know, it was really kind of you to ask. Once you have my presents, please let me know and I'll pm you my address for shipping. Seriously nice guy this ~VBBN~, offering to buy us sets on his birthday. *wub*

I have the answer to what all of this is. It's disappointing, unfortunately. Check out this page: http://www.brickset.com/search.aspx?Theme=LEGO%20Time There are watches called: X-10, Y-10, X-Tracker, Star Pilot, Dreamstar, Grinder, and Time Cruiser. Accordingly, it looks like they're just making newer models of all of them. What we have here is a list of watches. Don't get me wrong, they may be great watches, but it clearly isn't what we were hoping (or what we were dreading in the case of Time Cruiser, either). I just don't see why LEGO can't cut back a bit on this stuff in favour of other things. Oh well.

An eBay find that just made me laugh too hard
Shadows replied to Shadows's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Here we go again, but this one is worse (except I think the seller might be generally honest, if poorly informed). http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=160156191114 $85! But it does include the rare Jar Jar Timmy and a lot of just mildly amusing combinations of characters including some Scout Troopers who put on the wrong pants, a number of other Jar Jar manifestations including Qui Gon, Anakin, and one Battle Droid hybrid. $85! I couldn't stop laughing until I read closer. PRICED FOR QUICK SALE! *wacko* Oh, the pain... :'-( Sadly, I think he believes that because he's actually charging reasonable shipping. It's just amazing that people sell things with no idea what they are or how much they should get. I'm thankful for that every time I snag something vastly underpriced and at times like this it's good for a free, albeit mean-spirited laugh. Ah, good times. If I ever figure out how to edit thread titles, I'm making this my own personal eBay mockery thread. Please, join in! I saw another thread concerning eBay finds, but that seemed to be a more serious look at them, whereas this is just mean entertaining. ;-) -
A Guide To The Pirates Minifigures - Part I - The Pirates
Shadows replied to TalonCard's topic in LEGO Pirates
Dead men tell no tales. :skel1: Oh, and welcome back to the land of the living, and Pirates! We're always glad to have one more on board! *y* -
2001 was pre-bley and frown. Dream on. Actually, this whole thing could be misleading. For all we know, these could have been renumbered, given final names and already exist. They clearly aren't final names, yet you wouldn't think they'd need a placeholder for an empty inventory. It's all very inefficient. I do know that no associated images exist on the LEGO servers for any of these, or the earlier discoveries in the 10000's. ps. I'll be so happy when I somehow reach the point where "Edited blah blah" doesn't appear anymore.

... and a big bed shaped like a heart with red satin sheets and a fully stocked bar? ;-)

*makes it worse* Hey! We've asked them to bring back the Legends before, maybe they're finally listening and we're getting the whole Time Cruisers line, complete with UB, er, Timmy! Sea monsters aren't the only scary thing round these parts. *skull*

Told you people not to trust the detective :-P

If I hadn't already blown 5 Bricklink orders on dark red bricks for my Chinese restaurant, I'd be all over it. I'll file the idea away though, I think there is great potential for a graft and corruption based City MOC.

Add ... 7362 - Grinder Grit 7363 - Grinder Tar 7364 - LEGO Time Cruiser 2001 Grit and Tar. Oooook. That time cruiser bit creeps me out, considering our former experiences with said line. 8-

I nearly sloshed myself at the idea. :-$ Briefcases stuffed with $100's! Guys in suits with shark heads. Neon glowing fish and workers. I'm getting excited just thinking of the possibilities. Or maybe it's my wet shorts, er, the shorts that would be wet if I had sloshed myself, which I most certainly didn't do. :-X

I've been working under the assumption that comments relevant to the story are good in any of the related threads, but that only the participants should post in the chapters. So far no one has yelled at me ;-)

That's the building I caught a glimpse of in that train station pic. I like this a lot! You have a unique style, a flair so to speak. It's nice to see things done in less traditional styles sometimes. Good work! *y* Oh, and I believe the 'red' history of firehouses came from the mistaken belief that the colour red would be easily noticed when racing through town on the way to a fire. Later it was determined that a particularly annoying shade of neon green is more effective, but most haven't switched out of tradition (and it's really a horrible shade). Add the fact that a lot of firehouses were located in downtown areas in primarily brick structures, and the red just became overwhelming synonymous with them.

Memo: Top Secret. Eyes Only (What does that mean? Honestly, do some people read with their ears?) From: LEGO Marketing, Billund Subject: Movie tie-ins. It has come to our attention recently that featuring your product in a movie can be profitable. Very profitable. Buckets of money profitable. We did extensive studies on the subject and came to the conclusion that we would like to participate in this form of marketing. Ok, honestly, we watched ET and got a craving for some Reece's Pieces. Same deal. It has also been decided that our current marketing program is lacking in current pop cultural icons. Sure, we have Star Wars and Indiana Jones, but they're old and nobody gives a crap. That said, we're ditching all of those efforts and putting our entire marketing budget behind what can only be described as a definite hit movie of the ages: Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium Yes, that's right, we've scored the big one this time. No more B movies for us, it's all top notch from here on out! After this one you'll be saying, "Casablanca, what?" Signed, Claude Dinkelhoffer 14th Director of Bathroom Keys Marketing Division The LEGO Group PS. Personally, I'm more excited than I've been for anything since the remake of Attack of the 50 Foot Woman.

Yeah! What he said! Whatever it was... *wacko* On topic, as the months pass, I get more and more antsy for this one to come out, which makes no sense at all since I have nowhere to put it if I open it.

Does anyone else hear a tiny little twinge of disappointment in there? :-P
