That looks great. I'm picturing two flanking a center structure set 2 studs further in so these look like towers on it's sides. I'm definitely going to play around with this design. On the subject of "following the standard", just how specific does it get? Sure, the base/sidewalk distance needs to line up properly, but beyond that it should be pretty much anything goes. I read that technically each floor should be a certain height and such and that just seems idiotic to me. It isn't true in real life, and it would be far too limiting here. Keep us updated with any more efforts like this, it's great! *y*

I have the required level of crazy and the size to cover it. I could put a serious hurting on someone, but I don't have the ankles for all that running around. I always wanted to try some Australian rules football too. Oh well.

I can't see any chance of this happening, but it would be cool. I'm thinking something bordering on the old game "Beneath a Steel Sky" for those familiar with it (go on you lazy punk, Google is free :-P). Basically it was a dirty, industrialized look at a sort of apocalyptic future, one that would be perfect for huge smoke belching stacks with pipes and vents and metal walkways and such. Nope, no chance of LEGO doing this, but we could. It'd make a neat group project. Everyone could put together their small ideas for how the whole vision could come together and work off each other's efforts. I like it. I'd probably participate. Someone make that happen now. *snaps fingers* ;-)

Ultimate Star Wars Minifig Challenge: The Finals
Shadows replied to captaintau's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Two aging masters who've met before with fairly poor results for Yoda. Stick vs sabre. After a long annoying battle featuring a lot of jumping around by Yoda, Tyranus finally manages to put an end to the bouncing once and for all. Sorry, but today we order an extra small coffin for our little green friend. -
I bet it's solid enough and that would be a heck of a way to build some muscle! Heavy Lifting On! *y*

Medicine Man's Totem Pole: WW/Indian MOC
Shadows replied to SirNadroj's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Speaking of coincidence, I have the second one for this thread. Last night, while digging through a random parts assortment I picked up on eBay, I found that I had all the parts needed to build this: That got me interested in similar structures, so I opened your thread. Look how sad the totem is in the official set compared to yours... :'-( LEGO probably can't revisit this theme without complaints and it's a real shame. Some great work there, I look forward to more! *y* -
Just one of the many European things we silly Americans miss out on. We really should do something about that ... Europification On!

Wow, those are very nice. I hope to find a way to use both that stern trick and the small guns sometime. Thanks for sharing those and please keep us updated on your progress!

OK! OK! I'll buy a belt and solve the up and down problem with my pants mommy and daddy, just don't fight! You know I hate it when you fight ... :'-( *runs like hell, tripping over his pants* AAAAHHH! *CRASH* *wacko* I'm sorry *yoda* & *vader*, I'll try to be better (that was cool, I got to use both of your icons at the same time insead of having to type it all out. Then I explained it and typed 18 times more than I would have had to just to say your names instead :-$).

Street vendors. Small sets with 1-2 minifigs, usually the cart owner and sometimes a customer. Ice cream, hot dogs, whatever. LEGO might be surprised at how some cute small sets could lure people into the theme for the big sets. Beyond that, I'm still trying to figure out where Cafe Corner and such fit into things. Do we consider them almost City, or City's bigger brother? They're still minifig scale, but so much more (and my cart idea works with both standard and modular sized builds). If we're talking modular though, I'll take shops and restaurants. That just doesn't fit the usual action oriented nature of City sets, so I don't know. Seems like it has to involve either construction equipment or sirens to make it into City anymore (unless it's another gas station).

I'm ok with police again, IF we finally get some decent criminals. No more goofus gold tooth, I want proper crime in LEGO city. And more female minifigs. Put it all together and what have you got? Working Girls On! *y*

Ut oh... my pants have unexpectedly gone down. Oh, wait, they're up again. :-P

THE OLD Official Eurobricks Straightshooters List

Imagine how Sinner feels, it's his bucket. :-X -
We inform people here? Oh yeah, we do have that class on walrus handling (and boy does he like to be handled) X-D Welcome new friend, please be sure to have a look around, plenty of good things to see here. :-)

Turquoise, actually. It was all they had. It's definitely in the blue family. Shame your bouts of multiple personalities made you throw that other blue one off the mystery ship. :-P I still wish they'd made handles for the pearl light gray Belville buckets. I have at least 20 of those that I intend to use as big megablocks cannon barrels instead.

Do you mean minifig scale guns, you could check: http://www.brickforge.com/order.html or http://www.brickarms.com/Toys/Weapons.aspx If you mean replicas of real guns built in LEGO, check this out: http://www.brickgun.com/index.html Disclaimer: I've never dealt with any of these individuals, but I've heard good things about each. Your mileage may vary. Contents may settle during shipping. Do not punch, spindle, or mutilate. Hope this helps :-)

Member Titles - Questions and Answers
Shadows replied to languages's topic in Forum Information and Help
Sometimes I think I'm lucky not to have a title, no telling what they'd come up with for such a quiet, unassuming yet friendly guy like me. :-| I'll be leaving now. -
Don't worry, we're not talking about that anymore, we've moved on to more colourful topics. ;-)

Bunch of eBay randomness including wild west minifigs, pirates, knights, a pitchfork (waited a long time to find one in the right deal), cypress trees, horses (both indian and standard), unusual brick colours, a couple of fabuland (scala technically) buckets with handles, tree stumps (love those) and all kinds of odds and ends.

Whore today, gone tomorrow. And it was written that on the day of it's return to the land of the tubes, the Shelf of Brickly goodness shall bring to all a sense of peace and calm, but that shall be broken by the pleadings and the wailings and the paypal requestifying that is surely to pass. Beware! Beware! Be vewwy vewwy wary!

THE OLD Official Eurobricks Straightshooters List
Shadows replied to The Middleman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
That's some damn fine thinking there! I second that. Send me something and I'll rave on and on about how great the price was (free). Hey, shouldn't your tagline be "You can't stop The Stink"? :-X -
Figures the dead guy would come up with that one ;-)

You can't have one without the other, that's for sure. It'd be like watching Knight Rider and not the A-Team. Nothing beats 80's TV. Remington Steele, Moonlighting, Hunter, MacGyver (you need him on this cruise, he'd have already fixed the engine with a paperclip, 3 pieces of old gum, and a ball point pen), so many good shows. Thankfully, most of them are on dvd. Well, not thankfully for my wallet, but you know how that goes ...

Ultimate Star Wars Minifig Challenge: The Finals
Shadows replied to captaintau's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Anakin/Vader was the strongest apprentice Sidious ever had, and he was more powerful than Sidious, had he ever set his mind to it. Defeating Maul is almost a joke. Despite his turn to the dark side, Anakin looked up to Qui Gon. If for no other reason than pure revenge, he would unleash a beat down on Maul that would probably make the Texas Chainsaw Massacre look like a kiddie movie.
