Ah, these are some lovely ladies! *wub* If you'd like to expand the ranks even further by adding some custom variations, check out my decal thread. I'd love to see how they'd mix in, and give instructions for making a couple of official expanded universe hotties in there as well. Imperial Girl Power On! *y*

Great idea, sounds like fun, but I am thoroughly not equipped for this... 8-| What can I do??? :-/ I know! X-O Bricklink On! *y*

Excellent job! I'm a big fan of variations (well duh, :-|) and these are very nicely done. *y* A great opportunity for army building that I'm sure we won't get from LEGO themselves, despite all the money they could make on it. Thanks for the 'tasty' surprise! ;-)

In another thread, I was presenting Imperial Officer torsos based on the official LEGO Officer and Tarkin minifigs in an attempt to produce a reasonable fascimile of a Grand Admiral Thrawn, and provide some generic officer ideas. Then: You know, that's a great idea! Sometimes I forget that there were a limited number of female Imperial officers, since it wasn't traditional. Ysanne Isard, Natasi Daala, Juno Eclipse It's important to note that Star Wars source material comes from many places, and doesn't always agree. Most specifically, sometimes the rank pips differ in placement, colour, and even quantity. By using the pieces here and in the other thread, it should be possible to make just about any configuration you want, in any colour. I didn't make a dark grey sample, but it's simply a matter of replacing the white with whatever you want. Oh, and LEGO is inconsistant as well. In one design they'll use one shape for a code cylinder, then change it completely in another. Same with belts. I'm trying to stick to the LEGO style, but add new variations. So, while trying to achieve that, I realised that I could simply adapt Juno Eclipse for this purpose, and the end result follows. Now, to be perfectly honest, I prefer the belt to the original design much more, so I've made them that way as well. Version 1 (Juno style): Ysanne Isard (Red), dark grey, white Version 2 (Tarkin style): Ysanne Isard (Red), dark grey, white Version 1 (Official): Juno Eclipse (Black), dark grey, white Version 2 (Mixed style): Black, dark grey, white Using that as a basis, if one wanted to make Admiral Natasi Daala, you would use the Isard dark grey torso with adjusted rank colours (6 blue over 3 red + 3 yellow) as shown above. Seems like she would be an easy custom, if one was so inclined. Ok, I'm officially out of variations. Whew. *wacko* Imperial Ladies On! *y*

Star Wars Imperial Officer Decal Variations

You know, that's a great idea! Sometimes I forget that there were a limited number of female Imperial officers, since it wasn't traditional. When I have time, you can expect at least a set of generic female ones, and perhaps a custom Ysanne Isard (oooh, red uniform variation). It's hard to see from the available source material, but she seems to wear 6 red over 6 blue, much like the official Tarkin torso, though I've seen some instances where his was 6 blue over 6 red (the costuming department was sloppy in the movies and people sometimes ended up with upside down insignia, so it's hard to guess which is right). This is actually such a good idea, I've moved it to another thread, specifically targeted at female Imperials including Juno Eclipse. *sweet* -
Bingo! It isn't the size, it's the way you use it font itself. Times New Roman is always blotchy looking compared to a smoothly rounded Verdana or even Microsoft Sans Serif.

Star Wars Imperial Officer Decal Variations

Glad to help! Matter of fact, I went ahead and tried doing a face, but I'm not claiming it's great. I looked up a few pics to work from and there isn't much to his face, it's basically just a little scowling, with no eyebrows and red eyes with a very hard to see pupil that is either shiny or darker red. This was the best I could manage. The cheek lines are optional, but it looks far too plain without them. The blue seems to vary from the shade I used to much darker. That seemed like the best one to show detail and still fit the requirement without looking as fake as I think regular blue would. Getting hands in that shade might be difficult, unless one of the jellybean knights had them, I can't remember. Otherwise, a lot of pics show him in black gloves, which is easier. Some pics show him with yellow epaulettes, which seems odd to me, but would add some extra detail to the look and still be authentic (at least for some sources). So, bottom line: Either normal male or flat top hair (I saw pics where that would work), printed face, white torso with printed decal and black hands, white legs, yellow epaulettes. A Captain Pellaeon to go along with him should be much easier since he was a more traditional Imperial officer. The Noghri would be very difficult. That crazy dark jedi clone he worked with would be pretty easy though. I think I'd like to see all of those as a set. Maybe I'll do them. ;-) -
It's always easier to explain with a picture. The top half is how it looks replying to this message, the bottom half is from the minifig customization workshop.

Agree completely. The thread titles, usernames, posting time and post # all seem to be related, as they're all the same font and hard to read. Eww, scrolling down now, I see that it's carrying over to the "Last 10 Posts" and making them hard to read as well. Must be a single setting for all of those options. That said, I love everything else! *y*

Yes and no. I don't know how to do heads yet, but I can do basic torsos, so I had a go at it. Actually, I decided that a generic Imperial Officer torso would come in handy, so I made one based on the official minifig. During the process, I noticed that Tarkin wears his rank pips in a different location and has two code cylinders, where the normal officer has one, so I made a blank torso and pips/cylinders that can be added on to make custom configurations. What does all of this have to do with Thrawn? Not so much. Being the student of art that he was, he kept a very simple uniform design with fewer lines, no cylinders and a different belt. Still, it was an easy change to make. End result? A pile of torsos that could make anyone from a lowly pilot all the way to Tarkin and Thrawn. Check here and see what you think. If I figure out heads, I'll give one a try. I didn't just want to take someone else's and turn it blue with red eyes, which is about the best I could do right now.

During the process, I noticed that Tarkin has a better belt and wears his rank pips in a different location, with two code cylinders, where the normal officer has one, so I gave them all the better belt and made a blank torso and pips/cylinders that can be added on to make custom configurations. For a guide to the common ranks insignia configurations used in the empire, consult this wookiepedia page. Expect a headache though, as the costumers made no effort at all to follow any form of logic or common sense, so a lot of it has had to be retrofitted to make it work. Still, there are some basic standards from captains through Grand Moffs, and that page will help you if you want to make someone specific. 600dpi as always, colours drawn in such a way that you can simply select and fill to replace any of them with something else. Need a purple officer? You can do it easily (and I'd expect to see a pic of that :-D) Thrawn Tarkin, dark grey and white Standard officer, dark grey, black, white One and two cylinder variations without rank. Use the addons to choose rank, or modify the Thrawn torso to include a cylinder. Enjoy, and please feel free to comment! -
Thanks to Sinner for organizing this great contest and copmike for coming through with some cool prizes! *sweet* It was my pleasure! Now, the voting. I have no idea who to go for. I think I shall wait until I'm sure (you'd think I'd know from thumbnailing, but I don't... *wacko*).

Latest Licensed entries (Tanotrooper and zero1312) added here. Not real sure how Licensed zero's entry is, but ... Updated the pic for TinyPiesRUs to replace the old one. Hurry up people, it's almost over!

EB Pirates Episode 2 - Welcome to Port Paraiso!
Shadows replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Absolutely beautiful ships and scenery, interesting characters, an annoyingly humorous commercial break, a compelling plot, and some damn fine editing! ;-) Keep up the great work, guys! *sweet* Squeak, Squeak On! *y* -
What game are we playing at the moment?
Shadows replied to Mr Hobbles's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Deus Ex. Trying different paths, decisions, augmentations. I want to see all the available endings as well. -
Peg Leg *yoda* has been added. :-D It's amazing how popular this contest has been. Has there ever been anything with this many entries before?
-
I went ahead and redid his, replacing the original with the new one, so you'll be able to use the exact same code. In the process, he didn't lose his cool box. *sweet* First, he's slow getting entries in because of a broken ankle :-( , now we're supposed to believe he has a peg leg. Uh huh. :-| ;-) Seriously, hope it heals quickly. *y* *yoda* *pirate* On! *y*

New additions will be edited and added here: History, Adventure and Pirates: Licensed:

It screams 'elegant simplicity' with a hint of retroclassical goodness. Or something like that. *wacko* I'd give it a 986, which is only one point less than someone's postal mech and tower creation. *y*
-
If you don't finish, I'll look in later and fill in the missing ones, especially if anyone adds a new entry to either group I did (I added copmike this morning). :-)
-
I'm too tired to finish up the rest, but here are 10 of yours, without the links. They're somewhat random, too. :-$
-
I have no idea what you're talking about. ;-)

History, Adventure and Pirates 22 entries.
