You're all just hilarious. That would be the final day of Roman Mafia before it was permanently paused. Take a look sometime, it's really something special. -

Which roughly translates to... "Ok, I admit it, I'm scum, I can't possibly compare to your greatness, you win Mr. Shadows, sir!" -

Which roughly translates to... "We've got enough players and some of you are going to be mad when you don't make it in, so let's wait another day so even more of you can be mad when you don't make it in!" -

Murder on the Emerald Express: Chapter 15
Shadows replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'm not convinced that we're dying, but whatever the result, I signed on for this little train ride and after a week in that damn town, I'm not getting off this train until we reach some kind of destination, final or not. *takes Brakes hand* Yeah, what he said. -

*glances over at Mark* You know, I think you were married to her, but she was more interested in another Dickie... *shoots the Mayor and tosses him off the train* What? He's a mob killer! Trust me on this. -
Yay! So, summer 2011?

You sure about that? I told you he was loyal, I kept insisting it. The more I insisted, the more you doubted. It was like a witch hunt. Yep, every game is different. Just watch, you'll finally get a scum role one day and I'll be loyal and no one will listen to me.

Wow, what a nice start to your town, and a familiar cast of rogues and villains nice people! Thanks for sharing this! I wonder what you could possibly have planned for the future. I think we should stay tuned for more updates!

If he isn't dead already, I'd like to shoot Jethro. Actually, I'd like to shoot him anyway, thanks. What if they don't approach you in the groin? -

Still, um, wonkers, but within controllable parameters. Thanks for the reserve! Wah wah wah. Did I say 'wah'? Thank you Mary.

PM'd!

Speaking of which... if anyone does happen to have access to an entire set, I have a PM box and Paypal account as well. Did I mention that I'm a little cheap but eager?

Like I've said before, no meat shield, that's an invented term that never appeared before this game. It was all about the "you must kill the boss" order I was given. In MC1, the boss had an investigator who was trying to catch me, I had no way of knowing if that existed in this game as well. It didn't, as far as I can tell, but why risk it? The "meat shield" was a bonus. Getting you to go after me so heavily that it distracted away from all the other scum was the second bonus. Getting you to look so suspicious that the loyal vigilante killed you... priceless. I thought it was obvious that you were the investigator, so I wasn't calling you out, I was taunting you and using it as an excuse to call the investigator a coward, thus discrediting the results of the investigation. Plus it seemed to make you mad, which just helped make all of your supporters look suspicious.

People sometimes die horribly graphic deaths, if we can handle that and not a little 'adult' action, people might start thinking we're a bunch of uptight Americans. In other words, keep it discrete and amusing. It's more effective anyway. Usually. Let's not create too fine a line. All Hinck is saying is that we want everyone involved and experienced hosts get a little more control. There are no quotas and we aren't going to turn down a game because we disagree with the distribution of players (unless I'm not automatically in the game, of course ). Yes, that's good. Think "implied content" and you'll do fine. Oh, and try to get out more, you know, talk to girls and stuff. -

Finally, someone who understands the importance of listening to me! Let's start by killing all the Je's as previously suggested. We'll get one wrong, but we'll probably get one right as well, and at this point we must outnumber them considerably. We can't lose! Mmmmm, potatoes, the perfect weapon food. I was feeling Grim earlier. *glances over at Brakes* -

Try to provide a fair opportunity for newer players to gain experience, while balancing out the requirements of the game. Use your best judgment on the matter and remember that everyone was new once, so we can't discover the new mafia stars until we've had a chance to see them play. With the average mafia game taking 20+ players, that shouldn't be too hard. For mysteries or smaller games, I think it's reasonable to be a little selective. -
To put an end to the needless rambling that isn't supposed to happen in this topic (or anywhere, for that matter), I'll post this clarification of the title policy. There is no title policy. In other words: we give them, change them, and even remove them as we see fit. When one of those things happens, you should be able to figure out why if you take a minute to reflect on your recent posting. That ends that part of the discussion. Let's not abuse this topic or other things will happen. Unpleasant things that none of us want. Thanks!
