Count me as another who will miss out on these and wishes he wouldn't... If someone manages to end up with more than a few of these as spares (preferably a full set) at a very reasonable price, please feel free to send me a PM and we'll talk. I remember seeing the little sets at the checkout as a small child. It was a guaranteed way to make a sale to me. When I came out of my dark ages, the concept was mostly gone, reduced to a few Arctic Expedition and Racers sets, but I bought them anyway. There's something enticing about a cheap set, especially with a minifig. It's really a shame, these sets would sell in the stores here, I'm sure of it. Now the only time we see them is in Target just prior to holidays. We had impulse Pirates and City at Valentines and a pair of Power Miners for Halloween. There's no real logic to the sets chosen but they always sell here.

Mystical Castle - Conclusion
Shadows replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Every day I was alive I received a letter from the dragons thanking me for my help. I was thoroughly confused on the first day and even began to think that maybe I was some kind of insane character that didn't know my own alignment properly, then I realised what was happening on the second day and kept waiting for someone to use it against me, but it never came. Later, I figured out that it had probably confused the real investigator tremendously. It was a tough spot for you to be in. As for me, honestly, it's a lot harder to come up with a good story when you're innocent! I just felt like it should be obvious that I was trying to stop the evil sorcerer and therefore loyal, then he ended up neutral and threw my whole defense down the drain. -
Mystical Castle - Conclusion

First off, congrats to the winners, naturally. And now... Oh, the vanity of that ending! So predictable that I gave you your King of the Dragons title days (game days) ago, about 5 minutes after I died. But if you get past that part... The rest of it! Agnes: always a play toy, never a bride. Hugh and Peter and their Grim death: together forever ... under a chandelier! YAY! Jedi spirits in a rousing and emotionally satisfying cameo appearance! (I was the dashingly handsome one) And as I hinted in the discussion topic, my generic spoiler for all things is simply, "Everyone dies." It's nice when it's true. Great job, Draggy, can't wait for MC3! -
Mystical Castle - Discussion

Wow, he's certainly got all of your panties in a twist. How about everyone shut up until he's ready for you? Doing a lot of speculative guessing and BS searching so that later you can say "I saw that coming!" or "I knew it!" is not the way we play the game around here. Do you like to read the end of the book first? Well fine, but keep it to yourself if you do. Kids... That said... in life, I have one spoiler that I always give, no matter what the situation. I'm fairly certain it is the case here. If you've been paying attention, you've seen me say it before. If you repeat it here, I'll chamber you. -
You're starting, too? It is not. I don't control where they are stored. Some early, specialized tags were stored on BrickZone, while most of the others were moved from various places to EB itself. Tags that are either specific to one person or new are stored in a Brickshelf account until they can be moved to the main server. Now shush.
-
That didn't add to the conversation or ask a question. No spamming the happy tag topic!
-
Don't make me hurt you... again.
-
The EB News camera? Somehow, I don't think you inspired that.
-
Tag Addict- All too true, from an unknown source. Wrong again!

Stop! Hammer Time!- Certain kinds of bad behaviour should be met with swift punishment and 80's references. The matching Fabuland hammer is stolen from courtesy of his Hinckship, who thought I lost it when I gave him a witch's hat once but that's an entirely different story for another day, so don't even ask about it now. I have no nerves, someone suggested that title while pointing out your amusing analysis of my tag situation. I'm always happy to oblige. Sometimes they get worse if we keep talking about them.

Mafstraw Manor- Chapter 5 (Part A)
Shadows replied to Zepher's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
That was me, hold on ... It wasn't an attack, I was trying to feel around for a weapon in the commotion and grabbed your ankle. You slapped me, I took a dive behind one of the many available crates for cover and then I heard the father land nearby. I'm not sure what happened to him, though, just recognised the OW. If there are only 4 of us and the door is still closed, someone has that book. I find it physically unlikely that Amelia punched the father and took it, so that only leaves you, Morrison. How about we all agree to search each other as a group to see just who took it? -
Depends on what you ask for, and how. Dissecting my tags...

Shadows Presents: How to Make a Poll A Step by Step Guide Note: While the board version has been upgraded since this tutorial was written and the user interface has changed, the procedure of creating a poll and the various options are roughly the same. Just keep in mind that things may look a bit different now. Eventually we hope to update this tutorial with the current graphics! So, you've just become a Knight and now you want to take advantage of that new rank by creating your first poll, but you don't know how to do it. Aren't you glad I came along? Creating a poll is simple, I'll create one with you, picture by picture! First, create a new topic. If you don't know how to do this already, I'm not sure how you ever made Knight. Type a title and a message. You do not need to include "POLL" in the title, the forum will do that for you automatically once you add one. Now press the circled link which reads, "Click Here to Manage This Topic's Poll". Presto, a new section opens, the section to create a poll. The first thing to add is a title for the poll. In this case, I'm making a fake poll about equally fake 2010 Licensed Theme sets. Then press the circled link to "Add Poll Question". Type your first question in the circled box. Now press "Add Poll Choice" to begin giving people their choices. Then fill in your first option. What kind of poll only has one option? Click "Add Poll Choice" again to add another. Continue doing that until you've added all your choices. Now you have to decide the kind of poll you want, single choice or multiple choice. This box determines that. A checkmark in the box creates a multiple choice poll. Single choice poll: Everyone gets one choice per question. Multiple choice poll: Voters can select several choices. In the sample poll, this is the kind we want. Now it's time to finish up, or add another question. To add another question, click "Add Poll Question". If you find that one of your choices needs to be deleted, press the red X that appears next to that choice. If you're done with this poll, click "Close Poll Form". And that's it, everything returns to normal, but now you have a poll. Submit the topic and wait for the votes to start coming in. Now you've joined the wonderful world of polls, but remember, not everything needs one, so only use it when appropriate. Enjoy!

LEGO Shop FREE Shipping w/$99 purchase !
Shadows replied to BlueDragonZ's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Considering that they crush everything I order from them, free shipping is about the only way I can justify ordering. I'm certainly not going to pay them extra for the privilege. Word of advice... if you're ordering 2 large sets that can each qualify for free shipping, order them seperately or they will put them on top of each other with 10,000 air pillows and the result will be at least one ruined set, if not both. Though honestly, there's no guarantee either way, they are amazingly skilled at destruction. Don't believe me? Lovely, aren't they? -
Welcome to Eurobricks! While this isn't a typical introduction topic, it's actually not a bad way to start. Thanks! We're glad to have you! Planning is key for large scale work, smaller things can just sort of flow, but I always have a general idea of what I'm doing before I do it. Bricklink. Often. Too often. Beyond that, odd lots from eBay can sometimes be a great deal, if you're very careful and know what you're looking at, but as with any purchase that you don't open new, condition is always a risk. I absolutely refuse to take a set apart to build something else, nor will I break up a set unless I buy multiples of it for that purpose. I rely on Bricklink purchases in cases where I need new/top quality bricks, and an assortment of stray bulk LEGO purchases from eBay for day to day testing or the quick build that won't stay together. It's like using Creator sets, but it's basically my equivalent of junk parts that I don't mind scratching up. I'm sure that most people would consider them fine for normal use, I'm just picky. LDD is too limited. Build. Take apart. Build some more. Listen to the lovely parts rattling about in your hands and watch as something beautiful comes out of them. Bottom line, do what you find works best for you and most important of all, have fun! I came out of my dark ages as more of a collector than anything, sets and minifigs. I still don't MOC much for lack of space. That might be an important consideration, make sure you have room to build and let things sit and build some more later, sometimes it doesn't all come at once and you need a way to let things simmer a bit sometimes.

I do find his lack of posting to be a little disturbing, like maybe he's hiding something... Vote: Dragonator / King of the Dragons -
Um... anyone have a good design for crates?

I... crap. Just crap. Yes, it's crazy. $89.99 Temple of Doom for $99.99 is bad, but proportionately things like Ambush in Cairo that should be $10.99 going for $14.99 is a lot worse. I really don't know how they make it, but they weren't always like this. I remember coming out of my dark ages and buying sets there just as often as anywhere else with everything priced normally and the occasional clearance. Now it's just ridiculous.

Thought I'd take advantage of the free tractor offer, so I went to the local TRU, found a set they hadn't jacked the price up on (wasn't easy) and proceeded to the register. Saw about 15 signs for the deal on the way there, but no tractors. Figured they'd be at the register. 15 minutes and 5 employees later, they figured out that they didn't have the tractor, didn't know if it was going to come in, and didn't have any alternate plan to honour the deal. I walked out without the set. They don't want to make a $50 sale, they don't have to. Target is 2 blocks away, much happier to take my money and doesn't jack their prices up. What shall week 3 hold in store for us?

Just out of curiosity, what did the city picture have to do with this topic?
