Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
HoganPrime replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Ooh great I didn't realise there was a TV thread here. I wanted to post how much I love how each season has changes to its intro song. I really enjoyed the jaunty pirate music that played in tandem with the usual Ninja-GO!- 4,591 replies

Lego Ninjago 2016
HoganPrime replied to LegendsOfNinjago's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I am not even sure what to think about Nelson, his time in the show was limited. I personally don't think we need a new ninja just yet, instead I would like skylor to receive more screentime (does she still have her powers, I can't recall??). Though sure it would be cool having a purple ninja on the team and perhaps could start introducing a new 'team' style ninjago where people have their favourite team ups set in different locations and with different vehicle styles. Plus here is another thing to remember, the skybound wave showed us that while TLG could be quite faithful to story in their set building (the syringe that comes with jays elemental dragon) they can also shy away and make something new (Lloyd's flying vehicle in the misfortunes keep set). So however nelson is presented in the next wave, until I see it happen in show I'll take it with a grain of salt -

Yeah I want to change the front of the bike so it doesn't move up and down but definitely prefer it with no wheels. My main Nya fig has her with her hair piece and a blue bandana taken from a spare jay from the rebooted wave plus her light blue elemental sword, with the asajj ventress lightasber hilt So far I have seen: Titanium Tumbler Lighthouse Prison escape Lloyd's dragon Coles big car with nelson Ronin's mech Stealth raider (which I want bad) I've heard nothing else about the final two. I got my photos of the mentioned sets from the brick fan and brickset. Where did you get your news about the toy fairs and the missing two sets? I'd love a new skylor. I wanted to get her original but I wasn't too keen on the ToE wave and so far only have Coles plane and jays mech (will eventually get titanium dragon) -
Why is LEGO now being made in China?
HoganPrime replied to 9v system's topic in General LEGO Discussion
So I have been fortunate enough to work briefly at the Lego factory being opened up in jiaxing near shanghai. Its effectively open now but hasn't gone into full working production yet. The quality of the factory really surprised me and is unlike any other Chinese factory that my company has sent me to. Working conditions there are fantastic, which doesn't surprise me for a natively European company, though in China. The dining halls are good and have a mixture of foreign and local foods. I was told that workers work (though I cannot 100% confirm as I don't work for Lego) the same hours as their counterparts abroad, plus everyone even the factory floor staff go to Denmark for training when they start working there. Obviously a lot of the deals made were in conjunction with opening a factory and getting a theme park made, and the Chinese government do have very strict regulations on what a foreign company is allowed. For example this could result in a lot more knock offs being made as government regulation requires Lego to reveal the documentation and blueprints of all equipments used in the factory so you can absolutely bet that those will end up in the hands of cheap knock off makers who will then produce more of their crappy versions. My only hope is that this will make official products slightly cheaper here while retaining the same quality I have always received from my Lego. -

My wife gets involved in the hunting through CMF bags so when we usually go together so she can excitedly rumage. Our last trip was to try and get zombie pirate and zombie cheerleader. She is enthusiastic but terrible at feeling for the correct parts so it became a race to see who could find the two correct packets first. I won...- 107 replies

I'm a senior teacher for a an adult language school in Shanghai. I've taught in both China and the UK, where I am from. I actually incorporate Lego into my classes sometimes to encourage my students to focus on improving description and instruction giving abilities. Two students have the instruction book and must describe to the rest what pieces they need and where to put them. Every couple of pages the instruction groups change. So far no group has ever built an average sized ninjago vehicle :)

I've been looking at my Ninja Bikee Chase 70600 and I decided to remove the wheels from Nya's bike. It makes it look more like a Star Wars speeder bike and IMO visually better. What do you think? -
Review Review - 70501 Warrior Bike
HoganPrime replied to LuxorV's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
The elemental blades are the weapon I consistently go to when I arrange my displays. Zane has a blue transparent shield and white lightsaber hilt to go with his Elemental Blade, plus his deep stone weapon attached to his back- 8 replies

I'll pick up a morro dragon at some point. Maybe next month, now I have all of skybound and building the ToA as I type, I spend the next few months collecting through the backlog of sets I want The green ninja vehicle was my only real disappointment with misfortunes keep. MK has gone on my display shelf along with my bounty, but the green flying machine has been canabalised for parts. I am working on fitting the long rope and hook rig to the MK or bounty, like a zipline that can be fired -
Best Ninjago villain minifigure.

I stand corrected. Great background character!! -

I always liked Garmaddon back when he was a bad guy with four arms, same goes for kozu. Kozu always makes me laugh I see him on the show. The part in sky bound season when all the ninjas are in prison there is a great moment where the ninjas are conversing with soto and kozu is seen in the background inconspicuously picking up another inmate and shaking him around. A real blink and you miss it thing :) -

I need to get that too. I was the same with the mechs. Now I have them all proudly stood on a couple of shelves... Except for the golden ninja mech. That is one elusive machine -

I got confused during the build because of the green syringes. I hadn't seen sky bound when I built the set so I was completely cluless to the whole tiger widow venom plotline... But now I know, and knowing is half the battle. -
Just started watching the show, liking it so far. Currently though I'm not massively interested in the sets, but I think I might get the ultimates as I quite like the minifig... Shame there doesn't seem to be an ultimate jestro though, might have to pick up his set then

Hey everyone, I wanted to check and see if this has ever happened to you. I opened up the box for my temple of airjitsu and bag 5 was split open. The box hadn't been tampered with as far as I could see, and I went through the instruction book to double check that everything was there and nothing was missing. I've never experienced a bag being split open before and I can only hazard a guess that the large 16x16 plate must have caused it perhaps by being pushed against the other bags when in the box. Has anyone experienced a split bag before? Not just with tToA but any other sets too? Other than that I am loving the set! -

My temple of airjitsu arrived in the post today. The box is so big, I will wait though till my wife comes back from her parents place this weekend before we build it together. -

The point about the hype for tiger widow, I kind of agree that it is nowhere on the level of Wu's dragon or the ToA. My hype is because I bought it on the weekend and it does look great for what it is. The unique figs are great, I like having a bigfig dogshank plus ghost Cole was exactly what I wanted. My main display Cole now is riding his dragon from the skybound wave in deep stone torso with ghost legs and green ghost head (from the TWI set), and his green elemental sword (from final battle). With bandana and hair piece instead of ninja hood, its looking pretty great. Out of this current wave I think the sets that deserve any hype are jays elemental dragon and the raid Zeppelin as they both look awesome on my shelf -

I think for a kid it has some nice play features and for a display it looks pretty great by my TV. I love the palm tree -

I have bought way too much this last month. I got paid a couple of days ago and tiger widow island was an immediate purchase. Now though I caved and just ordered the temple of airjitsu... I think I just won't eat towards the end of the month. That should work out well -
Today I ordered the temple of airjitsu. Can't wait for that beautiful beast to arrive on my doorstep

I get it at work at times. I have a brick mug from thinkgeek and I often have mocs stuck all over it. My students are adults so sometimes they'll see it and comment. Nine times out of ten they love it but every now and again there is one student that says 'this is for kids'. I am more than happy to tell them that hobbies and interests don't matter when it comes to age. My entire office knows how big Lego is for me and even ended up buying some sets as a result of me buying stuff on my break (our school is in a shopping mall that has both a LEGO store and a TrU). The women in the LEGO shop know me now and always slip me extra polybags when I come in. Nothing to be ashamed of!- 107 replies

Raid Zeppelin or Jay's Elemental Dragon?
HoganPrime replied to novareb's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I have both sets and I honestly could not decide which one to suggest you get. They are both great but I think if you're thinking of display then perhaps... Nope I still can't decide, they both display well. Just get both! -
My first adventures set was the 5978 secret of the sphinx. I loved that so much when I was a kid and I have fond memories of playing with it. I never had any of the other adventures waves. I voted Egypt because of those childhood memories, it is also the reason why I decided to collect the pharaoh's quest series, which I love. If they continued adventures I'd like it to be joint adventures characters and Pharaohs quest characters, with the adventures team being aged up to suit the change in times. For a theme I would like a Greek mythology encounter with the teams tracking down ancient relics and facing the wrath of Gods and monsters and a contemporary enemy

Ah no its not a moc, I just meant the second version if DB which came out in the possession wave. But now you've suggested it that would be a great idea. Canabalising the parts from the dragon in that set and parts from the possessed samurai x mech could make something pretty ghostly. And perhaps the sails from the ship in the city of stix set. Maybe I can give it a try and post my results, right now though I'm too proud of how it looks in my lounge. I need to compress the photos to upload here. As for the summer sets, I'm really liking the Zane tumbler, it pretty great as a small vehicle. But that lighthouse will go great combined with the tiger widow set. My next purchase is going to be the kai dragon poly bag and the titanium dragon so I'll have a nice collection of dragons to go with my collection of mechs. The minifigs I've been customising to go along with my display are in the airjitsu GI and the deepstone. My favourite body prints so far have been the deep stone suits. They look great along with the deepstone weapons attached to the backs
