Lego Ninjago 2016
HoganPrime replied to LegendsOfNinjago's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
The prison has some minifigs I want. Honestly I would have liked not getting yet another kai, I have so many of his fig from skybound, but the hair piece for Zane, stone warrior and soto make this purchasable for me. Its not a must have though, so I'll probably pick it up after I've gotten all my desirables out of the way. Lighthouse is definitely purchase number one -

Sorry guys I tried uploading all th images from Amazon but try as I might this forum is not a fan of file sizes. The backs of the boxes show more details on the new weapons. I need all of these sets now. Edited to add that missing sets from Amazon are Zane's tumbler, battle ground and the x cave. But I am sure they will come soon enough. Also I've had a look at the backs of the boxes and checked for weapons, the rise of the villains green weapons are almost all accounted for in the new images. Two however are not. We have seen though that the staff is in the x cave. I can only hazard a guess that the final weapon is in the tumbler set or airjitsu battle ground. Haha final edit... Just checked the watermarked x cave photo again, the final weapon is there. Its a translucent green techno blade So thee transluscents are in box order: Jade blade Snake staff Elemental blade Axe Techno blade Deep stone shuriken -

Its a tan bat cave, nothing wrong with that, but yeah it won't be a long term display set like the lighthouse or ToA. But we'll see, who knows. I'm optimistic -

By the looks of things from pictures the old sx mech won't fit height wise, but I guess could be placed in the centre area with no problems as it isn't constricted by a ceiling. This set will go on my coffee table, I am seriously running out of space in my apartment. I think my star destroyer needs to be taken apart and space created for something new -

I have my samurai x mech standing side by side with the frankenmech, they look fantastic together. The shelf below has the main four ninja mechs together, annoyingly I don't have the golden mech yet so I'm always on the lookout. I really loved it in the show when the four ninjas were travelling up the mountain to the floaty island realm and each one was in their respective mech (plus Zane in a new one) I enjoyed the callback to the older ones as if they have a garage somewhere full of their old vehicles -

Okay, here's a question for you guys, ninjago has had a number of vehicles and buildings and it seems that people generally love the temple of fire and temple of airjitsu. So, what individual ninja vehicle is the threads favourite? I say individual because I don't want to include vehicles like destiny's bounty as they are larger vehicles that are more group vehicles. For me, I love the ninjacopter, the design and size plus play features make it really cool. -

Omg I don't even know where to start, some of these images are really great. I love the SX cave, definitely purchase number 1. Its brilliant seeing the difference between the final skybound sets and the rise of the villains sets. It just makes me wonder why exactly the skybound weren't all released together, instead being broken up like we have... Either way, this was like a drug fix that I didn't know I needed Edited to also add that I enjoying the throwback uniforms. I love the blue arms on nyas, looks great. These might replace deep stone as my favourite. Plus what do we know about the new weapons, clearly these green translucent ones are the series weapons but the ones still featuring skybound have the djinn blades. -

Why is LEGO now being made in China?
HoganPrime replied to 9v system's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yeah Lego can still be a bit expensive here, but I've learned to accept it. As an example, cmf's are 29 kuai which is around £2.90 so the difference isn't too bad. But 29kuai is also the price of dinner too so take from that what you will. For me, I get one set a month and they average between 200 and 600 rmb so again £20 and £60. If its anything more expensive I will usually wait another month and then get a bigger set. Plus taobao is a godsend for cheaper Lego, and also I have a friend that also collects Lego. He often goes to Japan and he says its much cheaper there than China, so he brings things back. He gave the last star destroyer set for free and that thing is big. I've got no complaints really getting Lego here. Yeah the factory is really nice, it's mostly up and running now, I get to go there occasionally to help groups of workers with english. -
Should flick fires be discontinued?
HoganPrime replied to Takanuinuva's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The only issue I ever had with flick fire are in the rebooted ninjacopter set. The ff missiles just fall out at the front because they don't clip into their holder tight enough. But I really like the disk shooters on misfortunes keep and the design of the 8 spring loaded shooters on the Coles black jet plane from the tournament of elements series. That design of the 8 spring loaded firing as the front of the blaster jet turns is a really great feature -

Speaking of deep stone weapons, I was a little disappointing with the possession wave collectable weapons, previously series have have cool weapons (4golden weapoms/snake blades and staffs/elemental blades/techno/jade/even djinn blades). It's disappointing that the deep stone shuriken weapons don't have fang pieces that represent all the colours of the ninja. There is the white for Zane red for kai and black for Cole, I even managed to have enough spare pastel green fangs to make a shuriken for morro, but i don't think I have any of the coloured fangs for Lloyd Nya or jay, as the majority of other weapons use gold fangs. But one cool way of making them a bit better is using the spare 1x1 printed flats from the skybound sets that have the individual ninja faces on them. -
I absolutely love the deep stone armour, it has become my go to armour for my display models in the second destiny's bounty on top of my bookshelf. Each ninja though is wearing their respective hair piece instead of ninja hood and a bandana (I gave kai the spare dark red bandana that came with Ronin's fig, jay has a dark blue that comes with any ghost fig and Nya has the traditional brighter blue that comes with a jay fig). Lloyd however has his hood from his younger self fig and is also wearing a dark green cape which I took from the mandarin. Each ninja has an individual lightsaber hilt which in my mind works in the same way as a lightsaber, but when used in combat, is for the elemental blades, which each ninja now has including Wu thanks to the skybound sets. I even gave Morro a spare elemental blade which came from the chain cycle set. Nadakhan has the old elemental blade which came from Coles final battle set as it is a little darker green than the ghost E blades (which both Cole and morro have) To top it all off, my Zane has the energy shield from the battle for ninjago city set (though I don't have that set so I swiped the blue shield from a China set). My diorama of misfortunes keep however has the ninjas in their airjitsu outfits, again with some mild variations... Deep stone ftw

I really loved the minifig for kozu, the red printing and double torso, he looked fantastic plusbthe stone amry were a force to be reckoned with. Not to mention that my favourite cameo character is the large stone warrior soldier in prison during skybound -

Wooooow ninja thunder swordsman!!!! Its funny, I live in China but you really don't see these fake things around in stores. Its all the online market. But that thing is a combination of theft and creativity. I wish that beast was real, I like that the it actually incorporate the kai mini dragon and makes it look more legit -

The Zane in this set is a NRG varient. Its not his deep stone armour or usual face printing. So I would say its rare enough, plus for parts it has some brilliant green translucent pieces which I can imagine would be fantastic in MOC. I do agree that Zane seems to be annoyingly hard to find in sets (including his poly bag kai has three skybound minifig and the others have 2. Except for Zane) but they seem to be rectifying that in the summer with more Zane sets that also feature hair pieces which I really look forward to Edit to say, I see what you mean now when you say airjitsu Zane... You meant the NRG, sure but not everyone wants to buy the flyers -

I got the ghost chain cycle this weekend and I absolutely love it. It seems to be a very popular set in shanghai because the TrU and Lego stores I go to were sold out for quite some time, so when I saw it the other day I grabbed it... The build was fun and the parts are fantastic. I like that it also comes with more of the green elemental blades, I gave the spare one to my Morro minifig so he has a ghost elemental blade like Cole. The catapult launcher on the bike is pretty great too. I decided that I would moc the glider that Zane uses, I turned it into a detachable part of the Zane mech, added some parts to the back of the mech that are in keeping with the design of the robot, grey and white, and managed to attach the glider. Its simple to attach and detach, unlike the flyer from Zane's skybound set (the zeppelin), which didn't attach so well to the mech for my liking. I highly recommend getting the chain cycle if you haven't already. -

Completely agree with you, I disassembled Lloyd's flyer and didn't look back. I saw a great moc, maybe here? of a hull added to the back of the bottom area, like an extra platform that could be raised and work like a slipway for the little boat. It was pretty cool -

I really enjoy my MK. It was a lot of fun puttin together with my wife and has become a great battle scene for my skybound ninjas. I really love the steam punk design of it and reckon its one of the best villain vehicles (the mech dragon from rebooted is included there as well). I wanted to also say that after having it on my coffee table for two days, I absolutely love the little kai's mini fire dragon. Its a brilliant poly bag and I highly recommend getting ahold of it if you can.
