It's from last year. I grew tired of the bald look last year and I have hair again, but the rest of my head is largely the same. (The room isn't though!)

Err.... Live Long and Prosper

I am a bit embarassed that it is me that started this thread... I love the idea but it wouldn't surprise me if Exo-Force is missing next year. There is only one set that I really like this year, and that is Aero Booster. Furthermore, since I got most of last years (I missed 2; sentry and Thunder Fury) I don't even find many compelling for parts either.

Fair point :-)

One chat site is enough for me! Thanks anyway.

I need Castle things

I've had my fair share of Bricklink issues, but it is too valuable resouce to ignore. Besides, Bricklink didn't rip you off, a Bricklink user ripped you off. These things happen. I sell stuff over the internet and I have been ripped off before. Accept it and move on. Why would dealing with someone you don't know via Eurobricks make any difference? At least on Bricklink there is a feedback system to help you decide if someone is trustworthy. -
That is an interesting use of that hull. It works a lot better than I though it would. I love your rail inspection SUV. I want to make something similar but I haven't got any of the small rail wheels. The only thing I don't like is the back of the ship. Personally I prefer the studded look. It is supposed to be lego after all. But as you say, some prefer it, some don't.

A completley new, orignal idea!!!

Sad to say, I doubt that it will happen. Hasbro would have no interest in allowing others to make toys that would directly compete with theirs. They only seem to authorise static figures (which I think are silly) or silly things like Optimash Prime (which is supposed to be silly). Can you make a tranforming Optimus with 359 pieces? When I finish my piece sorting I plan to make a tranforming plane so I am honestly interested. -
I tend to believe it. I have bought three Harry Potter sets, all were half price or less. The last batch didn't seem to sell well at all. But they are great for parts at half price.

Try Bricklink. If you have money for postage, you have enough money for Bricklink. Many people, including me, feel that Bricklink is a good indication of value. I doubt that you will have much luck getting a better deal elsewhere. -
They have been sighted and bought in Australia, but none in my locality.

8455 Back-Hoe. So far the only large set that I have bought on Bricklink. It was expensive, but worth it. Like many other people, I have made a compressor for mine. However, some go further. If you haven't seen the computer controlled modification of 8455 you really should. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=170126

I agree 100%. I take it futher though. I have a few freinds who collect, among other things, Star Wars figures and they refuse to remove them from the pack, as this will reduce their value. So I ask them "Would you sell it?", and they say "No!", so I ask "Then why do you care?", to which they answer "You just don't understand, do you?". But they are right. I don't understand.

Found via Lugnet http://news.lugnet.com/loc/au/?n=14224 I can't say that I like it that much.

That is a must buy. I look forward to a better photo. Thanks. They, as well as the new mars sets aren't in my area either. I did find, and buy, the harbour last week so I can't complain.

Australia, Germany and UK (not sure where else) Ferrari 248 F1 Team Item #: 8144 Was AUD 119.99, now AUD 59.99 Was GBP 49.99, now GBP 24.99 EUR 69.99, now EUR 34.99 http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=8144 Insane for a new set.

I love that set. Thanks very much for finding and posting it. I haven't seen any picture of this since the toy fair. It reminds me of the early Model Team sets in that is looks bigger than it is. I am dying to find out the Australian price. Going by the Euro price it could be under $50. Excellent....

Cool! I noticed your avatar in a few of the photos. I hope his train comes soon.

Maybe we can all move to Victoria together! I am targeting two years. My daughter plays with Lego inconsistantly. She loves my new Cement Mixer, she liked the "Girls Fantasy Bucket" but she tends to go back to her dolls after a while. My son is little better; his main interest is making extreamly simple space ships and "mean guys" and then smashing them both up. Ah well. When is you due?
-
Ahh, I wanted that set so badly when I was a boy. I made one like it with what I had, but it wasn't the same. What was the imperial doing on the moon anyway? :-P

My bad. :-$

Welcome to Eurobricks. I am from Tasmania. From what I know Melbourne is more the place to be. They even have Lego conventions! http://www.brickventures.com/index.html (There is one soon but the site is behind.) I am actually considering moving there! (Yes, I am serious.)

Welcome! I spent two weeks in Singapore as the ship I was on had engine problems. It is a very interesting place.

A challenge indeed! Well, I will have to leave it up to you as I have re-built mine into something else that I actually like. Yes 7075 does. Both designs are for shorter (middle section removed) ships that are taller. Neither look any better. But I can't find any pictures and my boxes are archived in a hard to find place. Nope, I didn't get the concept. I do now. Sorry for being a dolt.
