    All those bemoaning the price, just remember the minute this thing goes out of production in (hopefully) a few years, even if you opened the box and built it, it'll most likely be worth more than you paid for it. Look at it as a long term savings account. Money in Lego is more profitable than in gold right now.

    I hadn't seen his X-wing until you mentioned it, it looks great! The shaping and scale is much better. I'm honestly surprised there haven't been more UCS scale X-wing MOCs, it's such an iconic ship, but almost all MOCs seem to be minifig scale. Thanks for the kind words, I've made some more improvements to it, and added some landing gear to it so it can sit on a shelf without the stand. will post pics up when I have time to take some!

    From TLG's point of view, they want to sell as many of these as possible, so limiting production long term makes no sense. I would imagine there is an initial production run and depending on how quickly it sells out, they'll do more. I don't think anyone who wants one will go without, it'll be available for years, but not everyone who wants one on day one is going to happy. Just play the long game, use VIP points offers, and we'll all get one!

    More than any other release in recent years, this set has divided, united, enraged and encouraged brick fans, and it hasn't even been confirmed yet! I agree with TheBrickHitHouse that when it's released there needs to be an outlet for the responses, Perhaps an official Eurobricks thread for positive and one for negative are required? That way the two sides of whatever argument this set provokes can be kept apart and merely interact with those like minded. Otherwise we're going to end up with pages and pages of unintelligible dissagreement.

    It took 2 months for my Saturn 5 to arrive having ordered it on day 2 of release, if the same or worse goes for the MF, then you might just have to look on it as an early order for a Christmas present! In the end, it's going to be on sale for years, so it's not like if you miss out on day one you'll never get one.

    Yeah it's on the agenda, I just haven't had the time to go through and work out which goes where and edit every thread on the various forums I'm on. It's Like photobucket saw the recent ransomware attacks and adopted it as a business model. Good luck with that......

    Whatever price the Falcon is, if the old one and every other UCS set is anything to go buy, it'll never be worth less than the purchase price after it gets discontinued, even if you have the audacity to open the box and build the set, so at least you can argue it's a sound investment

    To be fair, photobucket has worked just fine for over a decade, they just decided to basically hold everyone's pictures to ransom. Looks like a good way to loose 99% of customers to me

    Jemakrol, Lobot-omy, thank you very much for your kind words! I've been tweaking it here and there and have got the nose structure a bit smoother, and moved the underside hump further back. I'll take some pics later. Jemakrol, it's funny you mention the UCS x-wing, I have that on the shelf above and it's amazing how wrong it is! The nose shape is much worse than mine, it's surprisingly lumpy in places, and the engines are too small. I'll do a side by side pic. Lobot-omy, I may dirty it up a bit for greater accuracy, but while I was building and designing it, I found it easier to guage the shape while it's all one colour. Quite nice to see a factory fresh one though!

    What this thread would benefit most from is if users weren't aloud to post on it, only submit rumors for verification with a moderator and THEN said rumors posted up when there was some kind of verification of their validity. This thread is all but unreadable most of the time. I don't know what's planned differently for 2018's thread, but if it had more posting of facts and less opinions, it would be a much better place.
