Mitgardia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Fat Tony replied to Sirens-of-Titan's topic in Guilds of Historica
Here's an update to my Dwarven Tower. The terrain was going to be a simple snow covered hill but has now gotten more complicated and time consuming. I'll update again before the deadline. For Mitgardia! -

What? Now it's a contest, with prizes? I was just building my tower for fun. With the 32x32 size restriction, is that for just the tower or the whole model? -

Here's a look at my Dwarven tower: I still need to build the terrain around it and finish furnishing the inside. It should be finished by next weekend. For Mitgardia! -

Great looking map. Perfect location for Pikesteel Mountain! I couldn't have asked for a better spot, thanks. I'm planning to build a Dwarven tower. Is there a specific date for the deadline? For Mitgardia! -

Are there any rules about technology? Are cannons and primitive firearms permissable? How about "castlepunk" steam machines? -

Thanks, it's based on the ride at Disneyland Awesome! Thanks so much. Have you seen my Jungle Cruise? As long as you don't have to move it, it's perfectly stable! The mountain itself removes in 2 sections and can be lifted off, carefuly. Thanks, he was fun to design. I used this one as reference. Thank you! Glad you enjoyed that. All the bad guys are named after kid's shows characters, who were not bad guys at all.

Instead Geronimo attempts to use his mystical shaman powers to commune with the bear and explain that they mean it no harm. Mickey the mule doesn't care for the approach of the bear and begins bucking in an attempt to escape. Brave Ulysses, always the impulsive one, decides now is the time to make his charge as Tommy Edison covers him with his trusty slingshot. Big Thunder Mountain 11 by Fat Tony 1138, on Flickr Can Abe and his team stop the run away train, prevent the dynamite from detonating, round up the Rowdy Doody Gang, rescue "Kangaroo" Gus, calm down poor Mickey the mule, and avoid being mauled by a bear?! Tune in next time! More pictures here!

Pirates of the Caribbean Contest - MOC Forum Division Voting

Yatkuu Encounter at the blacksmith workshop: 1 point Nicely built and wonderfully presented. The comic book look is icing to this great MOC cake. A donkey (brick built) would have made this perfect. Matn Tia Dalma's Shack: 1 point Great build, but the shack was built into a tree instead of a cliff so I had to dock a point for accuracy :) The Tia Dalma is creative if not a little scary looking. Well done. hammelgeier Attack of the Kraken: 1 point The scene this build represents the Kraken was never actually seen, but this is such a creative and action packed little scene that I pretend it was the second attack on the merchant ship instead. Plus I'm a sucker for tentacles! Rolli "Captain Barbossa, welcome to Singapore": 1 point Pantsless Elizabeth! Oh, yea, the rest of the MOC is pretty good too. Love the design of the floor, and Marty standing on the unconscious guy, nice touch. Kind of needed to lower the floor a little as I remember it being a little cramped for the taller crew members but still a great version of this scene. Fat Tony Where's the rest of the crew?: 1 point Nice representation of the movie scene but needed the second bone cage. Still, look at the height of that cliff, but then I am a little biased :) Thanks to Classic-Pirates.com and everybody who put this contest together! It was fun. -
Thanks so much for the blogging!
-
Wonderful MOC! That Kraken maw is fantastic! Is that made with a net? Brilliant! If only it could have a few more longer tentacles it would be perfect. Still a great job! Best of luck in the contest.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. Captain Genaro's idea of adding a cannibal was something I had considered but a minifigure would have thrown off the forced perspective. But then I remembered those wonderful new little trophy figures! Bone-Cage-bridge by Fat Tony 1138, on Flickr The only problem was the little guy becomes almost unnoticable in the large picture, so I had to take a close up of it. There is only one cage in my scene because there wasn't enough room on a 32x32 baseplate for another one. The one cage contains six figures (as seen in the movie) just what would be needed to crew the Black Pearl upon escape. I might have to delete a picture now, if so let me know. Thanks!

Built for the Classic-Pirates.com 2011 PotC Contest. Photoshop used to adjust the color. Built entirely on a 32x32 baseplate (with a slight overhang of the bone cage). A quick build for my Captain Jack. This is inspired by the Treasure Room from the Disneyland ride. Not to be confused with Isla de la Muerta.
