Vig. 46b ...or the non-Disney LEGO version of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean. The idea for this one came from the ride at Disneyland with a few additions of my own. Check out this post for info on the ride: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=9021 Here we see the town with the pirates in action. The governor is getting dunked in the well until he reveals the location of the treasure. The governor's wife (top) is finally shot in the head by the marksman below. The Redhead can be seen in the lower left hand corner doing what she does best with one lucky scalawag, much to the dismay of the Auctioneer. She was supposed to be his! This rascal is attempting to "extinguish" the fire. Up on the balcony a pirate chases a woman. Oh dear, where are his pants? Below, a pirate wench is a little too excited to see a beast of burden, a scoundrel with nefarious plans for that goat, and a gluttonous knave still in search of the owner of the slip he holds in his hand (she's in the barrel). This rogue (center) has pillaged the town of all the soldier's hats, no doubt with plans to resell them at inflated prices! The water ran out a while ago and the bottle was shattered to use the shards for "carving". Because as any good cannibal knows, dinner is a little easier to stomach with less of a reminder that this used to be a person. Thus removal of the head is a must. That sounded creepy.

Vig. 32c "You can be the gentleman and shoot the lady and starve to death yourself." This pirate decided not to starve. That line from the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie was the inspiration for this simple MOC. Comments welcome but I don't think I'll be changing much. I'll be busy working on my large entry. Thanks! I've edited the first post with four NEW pictures of the finished entry. Go back to the first page and check them out! I did it that way since the first picture is going to be used for judging. Now some of the comments don't make much sense (what gray pole?) but they were helpful at the time. Now on to something Medium!

I hadn't even noticed. Maybe it's his evil twin... or good twin. Not this time, that was a different contest. ( http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/55670 ) Anyways, it looks like everyone is done commenting and making suggestions on this entry. A big thanks to everyone for the constructive criticism, it helped! I'm going to be editing my first post with my final pictures soon, and then getting to work on another entry, hopefully!

Thanks for all the great feedback. Lets see what ya think with these minor improvements. Better? Worse? Still needs something? Let me know.

Actually, it's dark bley but it does look kind of blue in the picture. Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I'm gonna try to change the pole and add something below the gallows, as suggested. I'll see if I can have new pics up this weekend.

Vig. 20b Here be me first entry into the contest in the small catagory. Many a pirate's career ended with a short drop and a sudden stop. Oh dear, how embarrassing, this poor bloke seems to have lost control of his bladder. Heckel helps himself to some leftovers while Jeckel watches. Hyde is swooping in from the air. This chap has been dead for a while. His arm has already been picked clean by the birds, half of his face has been peeled and now they're starting on his leg and entrails, yum! http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/76836

Thanks for all the positive comments! I've worked on it over a three week period, a couple of hours here and there when I could. No, I'm no geologist, just a LEGOmaniac looking for some way to make a rock look different. Now if I can just find some time for the PTV contest! Swisskapolka on!

Vig. 18-c This was something I had been wanting to build for a while now. A contest just gave me more of an incentive. Inspired by Tarzan's treehouse from Disneyland, as well as the old Swiss Family treehouse. I would have liked to add a water wheel but I don't know where and it wouldn't have made much sense. More photos of it over here: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/73961

Free LEGO? Yes, please. Thanks for another raffle!

A free raffle? Sweet! Thanks!

Yay! Thanks for noticing the grappling hooks (the "throwaway" pieces). I agree about the tires but I just haven't seen any larger ones that look right. They're all to narrow. And the ones I used on the front of my Tumbler are way too big. So for now it's stuck with these. The body is a little thick which make it sit up higher but that was the only way I could get the front strut to attach. Any suggestions?

Thought I'd share my latest moc, the Batpod! You can find a few more images of it over here: MOCPages Enjoy! And no, it can't shoot out of my Tumbler.

Vignette entry: Rescue Failure After the capture of Senator Binks' shuttle by Seperatist forces, two Jedi knights along with their squad of Clones are dispatched to rescue the Senator. Seen here the mission has failed. Trapped in a corridor on their way to the shuttle bay of the Seperatist cruiser, Senator Binks has been shot and killed by battle droids. Greeort, the Rodian Jedi, attempts to melt through the door while Kimmin and her remaining clones try to hold off the onslaught of battle droids. Little do they know, two Super Battle Droids await them on the other side of the door! *It was later learned that this was not the actual Senator Binks, as he had mistakenly missed his shuttle, and was replaced with an equally inept decoy. **Gravity aboard the cruiser differs slightly from our own. Bignette entry: First Contact Twi'lek Jedi Master Sallis and his squad of clones are on a scouting mission to find a suitable location to establish a new outpost. They have landed on the small forest moon of Endor and begun their recon. They are soon to meet some of the local inhabitants. I'll post more photos here later: www.brickshelf.com or MOC Pages -
I wish you success in this endeavor. I too have wanted to build a minifig scale Nautilus but have never gotten around to it. I did make a smaller version that probably won't be much help but you can see it here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=209033 (shameless self-promotion) The best one I've seen so far is here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=27834 I've also toyed around with the idea of using an upside down ship hull for a waterline model. I'll see if I can get a picture of it to share as the wheelhouse may be of help to you.

Indiana Jones and the Castle In The Sky Legend tells of a magnificent castle in the clouds filled with golden eggs but guarded by a terrible GIANT! No aliens here, but maybe some magic beans.

Wow! So many great entries from so many talented builders. Thanks to everyone who put this contest together, and to everyone who entered. What follows are some thoughts on the creations so far (that took a while): Duke- The Marine: Great idea! I could see a medium sized ship accompanying this line with several smaller sets like this that could be combined to build a larger vessel. Shipwrecked: Nice little island, I like the shack. Phred- Jethro at Work: Not something LEGO would make but they should. A new pirate line would need more ethnicity. The Turtle Submarine: This shouldn't be in a pirates line, it should have it's own NEW line! A whole victorian steampunk line would be awesome and this would have to be one of the sets. Great design! The Gunboat: Great little patrol craft. The new Revolutionaries faction is a fantastic idea! kaboom4- Ye Olde Pub:A well defended little pub, very vignette like. TinyPiesRUs- Make Your Own Imperial Soldier: The name is a little long but the set would be a great idea. This kind of set just screams multiple purchases! Fishing Village: A nice addition to any port town. Dragonator- Imperial Salute: Simple but that's what an Impulse set would be. Great way to build an army! Klaus-Dieter- Pirate: A nice accessory set. Would go well with an inn set or a harbour. Matn- Friendly Pirate: Nice little boat. Now he just needs someplace to spend his gold. Imperial Hut: Great little outpost. Imperial Underpants is certainly a novel idea. Skipper24- Pirate Island Prison: Gumbo the monkey! and he's got a little boat, very cool. Treasure Hunter Raft: I like the shark attack feature. Pirate Treasure Cave: I have to be honest, I'm a little confused by this one. But that's the great thing about LEGO, you can build whatever you imagine. And it has another monkey! Hollisbrick- Ye old skellie outpost gaol dock: Nice little island prison. Skeleton pirates would make a great line, even if it was just an extension of the Castle line. Skellie Pirate outcast: This is a great idea for an impulse set for a whole line of skeleton pirates! Fluyt- Slacking off on the job: This is a must have set! A perfect impulse set. A collection of these would build an army, an island of palm trees, and enough monkeys to rule the world! Broadside's Barkadeer: Great classic look! Would have made a perfect small set with a few modifications. Great details! Majek- Shipwrecked Captain: Great idea, floating barrel boat. Treasure hunter: Lookout pirate! That skeleton doesn't like to share. The idea of a ruins set is cool. Pirate's Hideout: A round cannonball projectile to fire from the cannon would be sweet! The skeleton pirates would make a great new faction. Jason- The Treasure of Skull Island: Is that a light blue parrot? New colors of parrots would be a must for a new Pirate line. The skull rock is classic! SlyOwl- Kahuka's Palm Tree: Another must have set. Great for building an army of Islanders, with ferocious monkey pets! The Jolly Sinner: Suprisingly large ship with such a limited amount of pieces. Great job! Rebels' Rock: Very classic look, with all the neccesary elements for a fun pirate adventure. Batbrick- Islander Camping grounds: Nice set to collect for plant pieces and building an army of Islanders. jamtf- The Merchant: Something a Pirates line should have, more merchants! And an impulse set would be a great way to build the collection, plus great accessories. SirNadroj- Tribal Sacrifice: Nice stone head. I dig the aligator headed islander, reminds me of a Monkey Island cannibal. The Bloody Parot: such a fierce name for such a cute boat. Very kid friendly Port Maiden: This is a must have! More wenches! Those ckickens are fantastic! Dufresne- The Captain's Grudge: This one is just cool. A new line of skeleton pirates underwater, maybe even a skull rock underwater lair. Great idea! Beachside Barbeque: Great cannoe. Mmmm, seaside cooking! Fog Rock Raiders: A lighthouse, what an important (but never produced, until now) structure for the Pirates line. Good job. LuxorV- The Treasure Chest: A fantastic way to stock up on treasure and a sailor. The figure-heads workshop: More small sea-side town sets would be awesome for the Pirates line. oDDerFisken- Batter Times: Nice raft. Just needs a port where he can trade his jewel for rum and wenches! Skullossus- Locked Up Booty: A new female pirate! That's what a new Pirates line would need! Mermaid Encounter: Mermaids would be a fantastic addition to the Pirates line! Nice boat as well. Dukeschunke- The Imperial Runabout: A good army builder pack, plus a small boat. Very nice. HMS Aspire: Great small ship set, nice design. Plus a pirate for instant conflict. Axle- Name? Nice little set. A gun carrying monkey, Awesome! More gray boats for the Pirate line would be great. Legolas- Battle Pack: It's been working great for Star Wars, this would be fantastic for Pirates! Three soldiers, supplies, and a cannon would require multiple purchases. WhiteFang- Imperial Soldier Break Time: These impulse sets would all make great actual sets. Soldier, supplies and monkey, I'd buy several. Nikola Bathory- Fortified Outpost: Good solid build. Like all the blue coats. Dreamweb- Armada Training Facility: This is a great idea! The green railing is a nice touch and I like the use of the new colors. Erdbeereis1- Drunken Pirate: A Pirate and booze, something the classic line was missing. Kahuka's Cookout: Great grill, nothing like BBQ on the beach. TQmaster500- Abandoned Royal Outpost: Very reminicent of the stockade from Treasure Island, good job. jaudeau- Imperial Cannon: Poor little guy has to pull that heavy cannon by himself? Classic look! I'd want multiples. Secret warehouse in port: classic look. I like the treasure displayed out of the chest. Pirate's bar: Again classic look very close to the original feel. Mmm, cheese! BlueDog- The flame stays on the hat? Brilliant! 007- Like the new legs. Would they be articulated? Perfect for a new Armada line. FelixTheCat- Island Sacrifice: Great island. Kind of brutal, I like it. Justice: Here's a kid-friendly set. Teaches good morals, piracy=death. Vincent Cheung- Bed-boat Captain: Very comical! This is great. The bed is certainly original, great job. Now, if we could just... Let the voting begin!
