Lego DC vs. Marvel Video Game a Possibility?
punkkid364 replied to Khscarymovie4's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
ACTUALLY actually, Spider-Man's merchandising rights all belong to Disney. Sony owns FILM rights, and just film rights. He's not in it because, as of this point, he's not an Avenger in the MCU.- 43 replies

Bought the shuttle when my local Target opened at 8. Haven't had a chance to crack it open yet, though.

Actually, unless I'm mistaken ALL of the merch will be revealed in the streaming event that lasts much of the day on 9/3. I'm a little unclear about what's covered in that event.

Upon possibly seeing a visual representation of a minifigure based on a character who may or may not be the lead villain in TFA, I prefer the hooded version as it's more iconic, but I find it cool that TLG included (maybe) a helmet for the people who might like that look better. I also really like the dark orange pilot jumpsuits.

I used Dr. Wu from the JW sets to make a purist Lizard. Obligatory photo:

LEGO in Film & TV: Index of Appearances

I have no idea if it will make it into the final movie or not, but the script that leaked several years ago for Deadpool had Deapool lamenting that he was going to die before finishing his "LEGO Millennium Falcon." -
I've only contacted for missing pieces once, when my copy of 6868 was missing Hawkeye's bow. IIRC I had to send the proof of purchase as it was a licensed set and they were trying to prevent abuse.

BBC's annual report made special mention of their partnership with LEGO for DW. I wonder if that indicates something deeper than an Ideas set and Dimensions. It would be a shame in my opinion to only get one Doctor (though I am biased since Tennant has been my favorite.)

I picked it up at Walmart today. Ant-Man may be my favorite minifig of the year, so far. -
Which is Your Favorite Orc Minifigure from the LotR/Hobbit?

I like the Moria orcs the best. Maybe it's leftover from playing Warcraft in my youth, but I think of orcs as being green.- 23 replies

I've got a couple of things That I've been sitting on that I'd like to move so I can have a little extra cash. Here's what I've got: Smooth Hair Leia from 10198. Barely used, in like-new condition. This is a mis-molded variation from the first production run of 10198. On BL I've regularly seen them over 100 USD, I'm looking for about 80. Sealed Hulk polybag. Exactly what it says on the tin, from Lego store promotion in May 2012. Average selling price on BL is 26 USD and change, I'm thinking about 20. Any takers? Send me a PM.

The new Hulk looks like a 2-piece mold, probably to deal with this exact issue.

This is a good point, and one I hadn't previously considered. It was announced in November. Maybe we'll see BBT at TF. OTOH, and, perhaps supporting seeing the mad man in a box sooner rather than later, DW and BBT entered review at the same time, and the DW specifically says that it'll be out in 2015. I wouldn't be surprised to know that TLG had the model ready to go while they worked out licensing issues. I compared it to Ghostbusters, which was not even 3 weeks between the announcement and seeing the finished model. It was also a licensed set.
-
Big DW fan here. I'm betting the set will have 12 and Clara at least. It would be cool to have more Doctors/companions, but unless it expands to more sets, it's pretty unlikely. Ghostbusters was announced about this time last year and showed up at New York Toyfair in mid-Feb...might we see the set then? Looking back, it's usually about 3-4 weeks between an announcement and seeing the set.

He said Deep Breath! It MUST be Doctor Who! :P -
It kind of reminds me of the "demon" Batman from Batman Begins.

I was a big fan of 7888 when it came out. Now I think it's comically oversized, but it's a fun set nonetheless. Jokers ice cream truck is great.

The official box art for LB3 is out, and it looks like the new cowl we've seen on the space Batman is going to become the standard. I'm hoping that a new mold will allow us to use both the white eyes and the regular pupils...it's weird that Batgirl and Flash have regular eyes, but Batman doesn't.

I'm interested in seeing your modified packs. The ones in the set are really good, just kind of bulky for my taste. I'm assuming yours are smaller/slimmer somehow?

Ghostbusters Ecto-1 converted into -1A? and Ecto-1 Mods

Brent, that's awesome. I'm looking forward to an LDD file.... -
I got this set on the first and built it as soon as I could. It's easily one of my favorite sets ever. It's so cool that Brent and Marcos are both members, and we get a look into all the sides of bringing this set together. The only disappointing thing, to me, is that we won't get any other Ghostbusters sets...or will we? I'd love to see the gray uniforms from GB2, and tech from the movies as well as the game. Slime blower, anyone?

Some Advice needed...Cloud City Moral Dilemma.
punkkid364 replied to DuckBricks's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Depends. If you want it back to build it and enjoy, I'd say just ask for it. But if you're looking to make money, I'd be upfront with the value. -
My understanding of the way Star Wars' canon is that it has different levels: what Disney is saying is that they consider canon to be the former(?) G- and T-level canon. Post-ROTJ EU stories are being "downgraded" from C-Level to S- or N-Level, and the new stuff coming out will be replacing it as C-Level canon. At least, as far as I can make out. In truth, KOTOR and TOR take place far enough away from any continuity issues arising from VII-IX that I don't think it matters if Disney considers them canon or not; their canonicity was already questionable to begin with. Are they great stories in the Star Wars universe? I think so. So does it matter if some committee says that these fictional events never happened in a fictional universe? Not to me. I'll still love that game, because it's good. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars_canon#The_Holocron as a reference
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think KOTOR is a bit ambiguous at this point. It's not "G-level" canon, and never was, but this announcement is very specific about dealing with post-ROTJ EU, most of which was also not "G-level" canon, being "moved down" a peg to free up the films' post-ROTJ timeline. Or am I reading the press release incorrectly?

I ordered one on ebay, since the threshold to get him on the 4th is pretty steep for me right now. Should be here next week!
