I'm not 100% sure, but, these may be leaf pieces in Pearl Gold. Compare them to gold pieces nearby, it looks like it could be the same color... edit: I compared it with the leaked catalog pics, the splotches of color in the areas I pointed out are definitely gold. Yay gold leaves! Now I still need to investigate what this strange thing in topmost purple window is for - it looks like a large telescope, but also kind of like a knight's helmet. I'm also wondering if that's not the rubber net piece from the Friends catamaran right behind the orange/fire window, but that may be wishful thinking on my part, as I want that piece and it would fit well in a treehouse. (jeez Lego, why did you have to ruin Toy Fair.... I'm going full CSI here...)

I've seen the catalogue now, and I have to say I'm a bit surprised that the carriage & wolf turned out to be one set, and there is no larger chunk of Shadow World terrain as I predicted. The Elvenstar tree is pure beauty. Naida looks like regular Naida to me. I am F***ING ANGRY that once again there is no Farran and it's a TREEHOUSE SET. I don't get the weird bat creature, its proportions are a bit ridiculous. I guess they wanted to use the wings from Noctura's tower one more time.

Lego.com has an interactive map where you can see the 2015, 2016 and 2017 areas together. It's unknown where the new map will fit in there, but i doubt they'll abandon the rule. Also, regarding best set - I have no idea how it happened but I somehow forgot to mention Dragon Queen's Rescue. Everyone seems to be praising Ragana's castle, and rightly so, but the Dragon Queen herself is simply beautiful, plus you get a castle with a decent amount of floor space, interesting terrain shaping and two action features.

Starlight Inn has a very cute and cozy look but the interior is very meh. They should have given it more room and some interior decor instead of that silly cellar door. Weird thing is, when 2016 Toy Fair pics surfaced, I thought the Crystal Mine was a must have - I ended up skipping it and just got the egg and dragon baby instead. Ragana's castle is probably somewhere in the top 5 and a very strong candidate. My personal faves are: Naida's ship, Aira's ship, maybe Secret Marketplace. I have a serious lack of buildings in my collection, so new Wind Dragon set with its music school + Elvenstar Tree will be the cherry on top.

Since I'm bored and trying to turn my focus away from being impatient to see Toy Fair pics.... ....in your personal opinion, of all Elves sets released since 2015, which one was the best, and which one the worst (cough Dragon School)?

I bought Aurora's castle. The build is a bit dissapointing, but probably only because I'm used to Elves and their multiple technic action features. I am planning to decorate it with the bionicle vine pieces in dark blue; I'll post pics once they get here. Regarding the new "build and swap" system, I honestly hope it dies soon. The upper modules are held in place by just two studs, and it makes them easy to tip over. This will annoy a lot of kids and parents unless they strengthen the connection by themselves. I also feel this is limiting the set designers in terms of making more varied, compositionally - pleasing build shapes. But... we'll see.

So am I the only one who builds and mods the sets in LDD after instructions come out?

The tree will likely contain Farran (because y,know, tree) Naida (if the waterfall has an action feature). and one other elf (my bet is on Lumia since she opens the portal. We know the portal comes with Tree set from the map picture.) Emily wil obviously come with the wolf set and Noctura with the carriage, so that leaves Aira and Azari who will be in one of the two. The carriage is pulled by a flying bat, so you'd need a shooter to take it out, therefore Aira is in that set and Azari in the wolf one. I will check back on this post after Toy Fair to see if my crazy logic has proven true :D

That stunningly beautiful animation... those colors... they will make the whole webseries like this? o_o I am getting that Tree the minute it comes out. Possibly the Wolf if it's a small set. I suspect it will come with more Shadow World terrain, as so far the terrain is only represented in very small bits and the tower. But, they might lump it together with Noctura's carriage.

There are instructions available online now, so I built my modded lion in LDD. Granted, he's headless, but at least I have an idea of how he will look like with Zonya's wings. I will do the wind dragon tomorrow.

Wouldn't it make more sense to put in 2 students of each House, a male and female so you can reuse the costumes, and have some of them be main characters eg. Harry, Hermione in generic Gryffindor uniform, and then have more budget space for teachers?

I suspect it's Lumia again, but, there are no new male figs in this wave. 2016 had Tidus and 2017 had the Goblin King. @muddyknees, if you have the previous purple dragon wings (or other color) can you try them on and see if they look good?

Jasmine exists only in Minidoll form, but you should still be able to use her hairpiece ;) A darker skintone would look better but I'm not sure if it's possible with current parts.

I just want someone to buy the dragon and lion sets and show me pics :D I am planning to put the previous dragon's wings on them. If I'm not mistaken, the color will be slightly wrong for the wind dragon, but eh, purple is purple.

The white wolf and the Elvenstar Tree will definitely be sets. The tree even has a visible spiral staircase and slide, and you know Lego loves putting those in castles. I almost regret finding out about them, because waiting 2 months for better pics will be unbearable D: PS. "Elvenstar" is probably what they'll call the 4 pointed shape made by combining the crystals.
