I'm sure the floor tiles were difficult to align, but the finished product looks nice!

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars minifigures?
LegoMedGuy replied to Darthking623's topic in LEGO Star Wars
My favorite is Smooth Haired Princess Leia. Least favorite would have to be the assassin droids. -
Like others said, the micro builds in the background really make the scene!

An Experiment on Brick Yellowing by Sunlight
LegoMedGuy replied to Vorkosigan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I would also suggest that you try this with plates. Perhaps how thin the brick is could influence the rate of yellowing. Something about ratio of surface area to volume? -
What would make you say that some may be prototypes? Is there a way to distinguish between a prototype part cast in red to test for defects versus a part molded in red for some other purpose even though it is still non-production?
-
Actually they aren't. I tried that first. They must have made the joint piece that goes into the torso shorter on the light-up figures because a regular arm will not go all the way into the torso.

Prototype Cloud City Boba Fett
LegoMedGuy replied to 1980-Something-Space-Guy's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The same seems to be the case for the NY Yoda figure. There are tons of out-of-the-bag figures for sale with a large majority of them being sold from Mexico. The print is not perfect, but close enough that I'm sure people are falling for it.- 15 replies

I'm actually missing the other arm (non-lightsaber one) for my light-up Luminara. I have been contemplating how to go about getting a spare arm for her!

10240 X Wing with undercarriage, new engines, and nose
LegoMedGuy replied to L E G O's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I agree the nose is much better. I also like the look of the landing gear. -
My favorite aspect is that small ships are actually able to fit inside of the Star Destroyer! This really adds to the impressiveness of its size and your attention to detail. Well done

The paranoia is very strong with this topic. I always wash before touching any Lego whether it be brand new or some lot purchased off of eBay. For the really valuable stuff I usually use a towel to move the pieces because I don't even want to handle them. I'm not sure that this is a healthy fear

The interior details are awesome! I don't mind the outside appearance of the official ones, but they really lack with details on the inside.

US May The 4th Exclusive VIP Event April 30 9-10AM
LegoMedGuy replied to ACPin's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I don't disagree that is seems crazy to pay high prices for essentially just packaging, but then again for the completists out there it is a must. This is further compounded by the fact that those who want the set might not get an invitation, and those who get the invitation might not want the set. -

To either of you if you went to the event, I would be interested in purchasing the Space Slug set off of you. This might make it a little more worth it for you to go :) -
What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars minifigures?
LegoMedGuy replied to Darthking623's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wow all this time, and I never realized that I had flipped the helmets on him and his trooper! Got it changed, so thank you :) -
What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars minifigures?
LegoMedGuy replied to Darthking623's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Top 5 by LegoMedGuy, on Flickr SMOOTH HAIRED LEIA - I have an addiction to this figure. I don't know if it is because the first one I ever found was at a flea market for $15 and was the only thing I found that day or just that it was the first rare figure I ever got. Either way with 12 of them now, it's safe to say she is my number one figure! DARTH MALGUS - The shoulder pads on this figure really make it great especially how the breathing apparatus comes up on the face. I also like the slim cape that he has as it falls out of the shoulder pads perfectly. GAMORREAN GUARD - For me this figure is all about the color. It pops out when mixed with other characters! I also think that the update from the original version is spot on and really made the character look authentic. COMMANDER WOLFFE - Out of all the clone commanders, Wolffe is the best. His armor is distinctive which translates to a very cool Lego figure. Also the clever idea that he leads the Wolffepack is just too awesome! CAPTAIN PANAKA - I know there is a lot of hate for the prequels, but the helmet on this guy makes the whole figure for me. I always thought it looked good in the movie, and when the figure came out I had to have it. Honorable mentions - Chrome Gold C-3PO, Aayla, and AT-DP Pilot
