-
Great review and you beat me to it They had all the 2010 sets today when I stopped by Target The green trash can like you said is great! I think I like it better than the green crate from the Fire Station and Garage I agree that the fig is awfully repetitive, can't LEGO make some new torso designs? Like he could an electric company shirt or something. Maybe a different color or construction helmet would be good too. One of the best sets to start the year of with! $15 at Target here
-
Thanks Svelte! That is all you got? One snap shot? Get back to work and find the rest! Preferably the TRU exclusive too
-
Those pictures are new to me I had seen the enlarged ones but not this, must be from a dealer catalog? Quite interesting, final versions perhaps?
-
Say that is really good for your first MOC, actually its quite awesome My first Train MOC I wouldn't even have classified as a Train
-
I wonder why the Octan Tank Truck is not added yet? They will probably soon. I want to see that price As for the Pig Farm, it is in the theme sets, but not the Online shop? The farmers wife does have a new overall torso as mentioned
-
I do not see any

Centipedes! They are huge here! I have found dead ones 6 inches in length and body segments at least 1-2 inches thick. I have stepped on them by accident twice while walking threw a dark room, Its hard to describe what they felt like, so alien-ish Their bites are highly poisonous and extremely painful, heard it is like having a gunshot wound. LEGO going bankrupt

Maybe its like the Yeti , the more you say and think about it, the realer it becomes
-
Is that USD? If so the Station and Level crossing are expensive. The crossing should be about $10 but I guess if they give you 4 straight tracks, then that is what drove the price up. The train station I would have thought $30 to be a good price but again the track must have brought it up. The Passenger Train is normal priced Now the Cargo Train is a steal for $165

ah thanks, that is horrible news for me as no TRU here
-
Thanks for this explanation I now fully understand your thoughts and that they were not directed toward me. I hate making posts like I did because I don't like confrontations, esp over LEGO since all of us like it and enjoy and should get along Ok Svelte I have made a double post and added to off topic discussions, new sets I suppose?

I snipped out all the rest because this is comment is related to your whole post and not one section Your ideas are all very good, but I don't like the idea of a car being included or another bus. Sure a bus station would be cool, but could this be similar to the one from City Corner, a larger one would IMO be waste of parts for the set, as they could focus on the Hotel/Motel more or Gas Station or Restaurant. I think maybe 2-3 Trucks, not sure what they carry, one of them could be a small pick up perhaps? I feel that "Slamming" is a harsh term being used , as no one was using language or "whining" about the Truck Stop I don't appreciate this statement, as I feel that you are inferring about me and others perhaps. I speculated that it might be a Monorail, true, is that any different from wishlist topics however? I wouldn't call it "wild" , either as the concept art showed an elevated train. And I myself was not "bitterly disappointed" because it was a Truck Stop, true I was sad at first, because when compared with the other two this one seemed bleak, but now after possible set inclusions I have widened out, appreicating that we are getting a new set and am starting to like the sound of the set. Now this is really out of control , inferring that myself and other members are childish. I have not read or posted anything that could be interrupted as whining. Unrealistic speculation? All my speculation was derived directly from the concept art. That was TLGs artwork, not my own drawings. I never accused TLG of being unfair, if really the Truck Stop did win and TLG did base their choice on it, then that is fine with me, yes it seemed bleak compared with the other 2 but like I said, I still like it. You are slightly, but misguidedly correct here, as I did post a comment that could imply that TLG disregarded public opinion. That has nothing to do with however what the set looks like as a final product. I know that you didn't mention my username or others, but I don't like what your comments inferred.

Great comments everyone, I enjoyed reading them, interesting how one person likes a box type, when another person dislikes it. The last lid opening box I had was the Hospital from 2006 If I recall the 2006 Trains also had that type of box. Keep the comments up

Shameless Doublepost time: Has this been posted yet? Octan Tanker, new pics from Bricklink

Has anyone seen any LEGO Train set sold at a Target?

Oh so the TRU Exclusive is the Truck Stop, damn , how could such a thing happen? This is a terrible upset, how could the 2 favorites,City Square and Transportation Center, lose to something we considered not even an option? I bet TLC didn't even take the poll into account and just picked whatever choice they felt like making. A major reason for not getting the Transportation one was because we have now seen about everything it comes with, the bus, trains and taxi. The city square had the redone City Corner Pizza shop. The toy shop you could say was made into the Winter Toy shop. Therefore I don't think the poll really mattered, as it contained many ideas for sets that exist. However this isn't that bad. Like I said earlier, the options for the set sounds good. Like a Cafe, or fast food type place, some trucks (like we didn't have enough already), Gas satiation (cool I missed the service station) and a Hotel. I don't like Motels, a small Hotel building would be better. 3 stories or so. Bottom floor check in and waiting area. Second and third floors, divided into 2 rooms on each floor. Some very good ideas here. I might consider buying it, if it contains all of the above

What's with the staff's usernames?
Piranha replied to Sir Dano's topic in Forum Information and Help
I have the strangest feeling that this has been done before........... -
2000-2006 were crap years for City 2007-Present day were amazing I don't consider or include the Modular building line part of City, because it isn't. They are a totally different ballpark. I like to think of them as a part of the Exclusive theme that also includes others like the Emerald Night That said I think the one set that really represents the huge comeback of City is 7641 City Corner. There really has been nothing like it really. It combined buildings, vehicles, transit and civilian life quite nice. It sums up what City fans have been wanting, more Civilian sets. It is an Instant Classic like notable others such as the Airport Shuttle and Main Street.

So there are 2 Trucks? LEGO one & TRU one? I hope we only get the LEGO one because as mentioned we have way too many Trucks already and a TRU based one would be really unnecessary and could have been used for a different set. I still haven't given up for the Fans Choice! It can't be the Truckstop! However I am liking the ideas thrown around like a gas station, food place and a Hotel I like your speculation Klaus Dieter about the City House It is called City House and is in the City theme for a reason. Like you said it will not be like the creator houses we have, which are cool but I would still prefer an actual City house like they are making.

I would have to disagree with the "B" option Did having the 9v Regulator and charge cord in multiple Train sets stop people from buying them? Just so they don't have multiple cords? I personally would buy that set, not really caring if I got the extra cord. Also what if I want to charge more than one battery at a time? A cord in each set would allow to charge more than one battery at one time. You could even go a step further and sell your extra charge cord on ebay or BL. Finally if the charge cord is sold separately , and say you are in the LEGO store, they don't carry any PF for Trains I remember hearing that LEGO did not want the PF for Trains to be sold at LEGO stores. So they sell the Train in the store but not the charge cord? I would think that to be rather dumb than just including it. However I wouldn't be surprised if they did not include it, plus that would make alot of people angry, including me.

Aw I missed out on them too Did anyone save them?

MISB - to open or not to open...
Piranha replied to Mister Phes's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I open all sets I get that are MISB. Where is the fun in a box? One time I tried to see how long I could keep a set MISB, it just sat there on the shelf, just waiting to be torn open and enjoyed. A few days later I could resist no longer and I finally opened it. However I would not open say a MISB Galaxy Explorer or Airport Shuttle, for 2 reasons 1. They are very rare and should be preserved 2. I would never buy an old MISB set in the first place, I would buy an excellent condition used one -
The other day I was opening a LEGO set box and noticed that the box opened up by the lid popping up displaying all the bricks in it. I also remembered that in the past this was the dominant box type, where the box lid opened up. I prefer this because it allows you to see all the parts and goodies. This made me think, of all the other box types, there are the push in flaps to open and the ones you cut the plastic to open. Have you ever thought about this before?
