  1. Sorry, for some reason my last reply got messed up. I think you should go for Gandalf Arrives and Shelob Attacks. With these two sets, ou get four of the most important LOTR characters, and Shelob is awesome. The Uruk set is cool, but it looks kinda wierd without Helm's Deep. Unless you want to start army building right away, go for Gandalf and Shelob.
  2. Is there any date of release for the demo? I unfortunately only have a Wii, so I can't play it myself, but I would ove to see the whole level played through without an interview happening simultaneously.
  3. There is no evidence, just hints and rumors. I would love to see a full Hobbit wave, with two LOTR battle packs as transition sets from LOTR to the Hobbit. I would ove to see Lorien elves who fought at Helm's Deep, but I'm still really excited to see what the Mirkwood elves look like from the Hobbit, cause they could end up looking better than all the other elven warriors, which means I would want a bunch of them.
  4. That Balrog fight looks amazing! And the cutscenes are just fantastic! iLife the dialogue. I'm really glad that it seems that most of the silly, slapstick humor from the past games seems to be gone.
  5. It, along with the Rise of the Witch-King expansion, is the best LOTR game to date. No game has ever surpassed its level of awesomeness. It would be really cool to see sets based on the ROTWK expansion story, with sets based on Carn Dûm, the Barrow Downs, Fornost, and many others. Also, the characters would be epic! Rogash would be so cool, Karsh would be interesting to see (probably would be similar to the dementors), and the Black Numenoreans would look really cool, only needing a new helmet mould. Anyway, this (kinda) belongs in the Future sets thread, so I'll stop making wish lists. Still, it would be epic. Also, one more thing: the Wyrm!
  6. This game still is aimed for younger kids. Even though it is lame, they need to try to make it somewhat light-hearted. That said, I think that with the dialogue, the silly things that were abundant in previous LEGO games will be less prominent in this one.
  7. I definitely would love sets based on the BFME games. The Glofindel from that game is how I want him to look in minifig form. Also, the Mountain Giants would be cool, and they could do sets with random pieces based on a certain faction to recreate the character creation aspect of the games.
  8. Just found this on the LEGO.com homepage as well. http://videogames.lego.com/en-us/LEGOLordoftheRingsVideoGame/AboutTheGame/Features/Default.aspx?icmp=COUS23HomeWN3VideogamesNewVideogame Sounds like this game is truly going to be in a much more epic scale compared to the other LEGO games.
  9. I also hope they do that for duplicates. It upset me that they didn't for POTC. It sounds like they will be including scenes and characters from the book. It makes me wonder if we'll see Tom and Goldberry, Bill Ferny, Glorfindel, The Barrow-Wights, Imrahil, Halbarad and the Grey Company, Elrohir and Elladden, just to name a few. I really wonder how they will tackle scary characters like Gothmog and The Mouth. Either way, it seems like the guy who was in charge of the game development knows his LOTR stuff, so I'm not too worried about it.
  10. Thanks! It looks like they will be including some book only things, such as Glamdring glowing. I lov that you can equip different things as you go along in the game. So excited!
  11. How do you know this?
  12. It's something I've noticed with recent figs from the last few years (I think it's started when the fleshies began in 2004). It is kinda annoying, but it isn't a sticker, so don't worry about it peeling off or anything.
  13. I would have to say Moria. It captures the scene so perfectly, and the figure selection is amazing, with three exclusive Fellowship members. The troll is outstanding, and it just looks epic. Ifi could have a second choice, I would say Shelob. It has (what I consider) the three most important characters of the story, and Shelob is fantastic.
  14. I did forget about those! I never got any myself, but they did look cool. But they had a lot of technic bits, which I think would be the wrong way to do Smaug and the Fell Beasts. I could see a mix of the Hero Factory style connections, mixed with the bits used for Shelob's legs to give the neck and limbs poseability. And the wings could be done in a similar style to the Ninjago dragons, only with fabric to fill in the frame of the wings. It would be really cool, and would make Smaug/Fell Beast sets smaller and more reasonably priced if they didn't have to have some big building to go along with a molded creature. It would mean that we could get a ROTK Witch-King set for maybe $40-50 rather than $80-100.
  15. I think Smaug should be brick built. TLG proved they can do really good brick built creatures with Shelob. If they do a decent job with Smaug (and the Fell Beasts), they could make good sized representations of them, and full sets with just a creature and some figs. I thought that they could even try something with folding wings, with fabric that could fold out to fill in the spaces. It could look really cool.
  16. Thanks, good to know. Maybe I won't try to get 50 after all. Also, some people were talking about how the next wave will have both Hobbit and LOTR sets. If they do that, maybe it means LOTR battle packs, and the rest the Hobbit? I would be happy with that, especially if they had Helm's Deep elves. Haldir looks pretty lonely on the Deeping Wall, being the only Lorien elf.
  17. I'm just curious about those poly bags. Does anyone know what they usually cost? I want to try and get 50 of the Uruk one.
  18. Actually, that is Windu's purple blade. There are two normal blue blades, two green, one red, and a purple.
  19. That's really interesting, but it doesn't surprise me. I would like to know what his opinion on Peter Jackson's films would be, and if he thought justice was done.
  20. Yeah, I know, they probably won't be based on book-only scenes. It was just me wishing. But, it still sounds promising. The last LEGO game I got was SW the Clone Wars. It was ok. I think the fact that they talk makes it so much better. It makes it more like a 'normal' game, if you get what I mean. It will be much better that Gandalf can tell Frodo the importance of the Ring, rather than have him show pictures or have a silly flashback.
  21. I was just reading a little thing about the new game, and it mentioned how there will be side quests. That got me thinking: could they make side quests based on scenes from the books only? I doubt it, but it would be cool to see an Old Forest side quest, a Fog on the Barrow-Downs side quest, and so on. It would really make it awesome. Here is the thing I read: http://www.geekologie.com/2012/06/lego-lord-of-the-rings-video-game-gets-a.php
  22. I obviously want to see all of these characters made as Minifigs, but I think that I really want Faramir, Éowyn (Dernhelm disguise), Gothmog, The Mouth of Sauron, and the Witch-King in armour. I have a feeling that Gandalf the White and Saruman will have to be made. Gandalf spends the most time in the trilogy as the White wizard. And Saruman is one of the main villains, and he will be appearing in the Hobbit, so TLG may make him sooner than later. But I hope they don't make Saruman in the Hobbit sets, so we can get an Orthanc.
  23. Thanks for the pic, deskp! That looks really epic! Sting looks really cool shining like that, and Anduril looks amazing! I really hope we get it in the next LOTR wave. The piece at the end of Gandalf's staff... I never thought of using it. I don't have it in brown, and use the upside down cone anyway, like you said, but I just put a clear stud upside down as well, to represent the light. Anyway, thanks for this! Can't wait for the game!
  24. Wow! Thanks for the video! This looks like the best LEGO game yet! The fact that they have the actual voices makes it so much better! I can't wait to see some gameplay!
