  1. This topic seems to have popped up out of nowhere, but I like it! Before I continue, I would like to suggest this be turned into a poll (although there have been so many LEGO Jedi, it may be ridiculously long). Anyway, I am going to go at this question in two different ways: 1. Best Jedi due to excellent design and resemblance to source material, and 2. Best Jedi due to personal opinion. My favourite Jedi based on design would have to be the new Anakin from the Palpatine's Arrest (this fig goes hand in hand with the Starfighter version as well). As for a Sith, I would say the new Malgus. Just outstanding work by LEGO. My favourite Jedi based on personal opinion would be Qui-Gon from last years Sith Infiltrator. Qui-Gon has always been my favourite Jedi, and LEGO finally did him justice last year. My personal favourite Sith would probably end up being Malgus again. He just looks so damn awesome, and he seems like a really epic character.
  2. Hello everyone! I'm new to the customization world. I've dabbled in a few little things, like altering pieces, but nothing on a full minifig scale. With the upcoming release of the new Old Republic Star Wars sets, I noticed that there were some characters from the trailers for the game which were left out of the sets. It would be much appreciated if someone could make face, torso and leg decals for Kao Cen Darach and Darth Vindican. Here are some reference images: Kao Cen Darach http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111206011335/fanon/images/d/d9/Kao_Cen_Darach.jpg http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/9/91/SateleShansMaster-Return.jpg (if you could leave the horns off the decal, that would be great! I plan on painting a leftover Maul headpiece) Darth Vindican http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/8/88/MalgusMaster-Return.jpg http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120503101204/swtor/images/c/c3/Malgus_and_Vindican_next_to_Fury.png (I would like if Vindican's skin color was dark red) Again, thank you to whoever makes these! Thanks a bunch! EDIT: also, this may not belong here, but what sort of paper should I use for printing decals? I've never done it before, so I'm unsure if sticky paper from Staples would work, or if I need something more specific.
  3. I think he calls Dooku a pretender because, along with your reasoning which is very good, he was once a Jedi. Dooku wasn't raised as a Sith from the beginning, so I think Dooku has a bit more compassion compared to other Sith. Look at the moment of his death: he looked at Palpatine for mercy, and wanted to be spared. Then again, he almost squished Kenobi in the same scene, so who knows what Dooku is all about. When it comes to Sidious, I think he is flawed. Although he is possibly the most brilliant character in Star Wars, his lust for power and his implementation of his plan is where his faults are. I'm afraid that Plapatine's treatment of Maul when he was an apprentice will come back and bite him in the megablocks. I think Maul will try to kill both Sidious and Dooku, and take their place alongside his brother. Whatever happens, I think (and hope) this season will be big for character development for Maul, Savage, Dooku and Sidious.
  4. After taking a look at def's review of the Striker ship from the Old Republic game, I decided to watch the cinematic trailers for the game again. After watching them, it made me really want the new OldRepublic sets, but it also really made me want LEGO to make the smuggler's ship from the first trailer. It could be a set similar in size to the Millenium Falcon (it looks like it was designed to be a very early predecessor of theFalcon made from the same company), and could ha's included a bunch of interesting characters that just got missed out on in the other two sets. This ship could have given us the smuggler with the big hat (don't know his name), Satele Shan's Zabrak master (again, I don't know his name), a couple of Republic troopers, which would have given us that helmet, and Vindican (Malgus's master). Then, along with the other two Old Republic sets, you could collect all the major characters from the trailers.
  5. That's the one thing I'm unsure about with the Fury: is it worth the money. But I to love the color scheme on this ship. I've always liked dark red ships, and have felt that LEGO never did enough (or there just weren't enough make). Also, I was just taking a look of Satele from the game, and I feel that the hair and face she has isn't that fitting. Could you maybe post a picture of her with the Padme/Hermione face with the CMF series 1 nurse hair?

    Canadian Eh?

Should we be expecting the new Star Wars sets for August, or does anyone know if we could see them a bit earlier?
  7. Thanks for the review! I'm really glad to see more detailed and close up pictures of this set, because his was the one set this wave that I didn't have a definite opinion of. At first, I thought I would just want Satele and Jace. But now after seeing its interesting wing design (that canon folding function is ridiculously simple, yet amazingly effective) and the overall sleek look of the ship, I must say thatim sold on this set! It could possibly become my favourite LEGO single-man fighter ever! Now I hope my opinion of the Fury doesn't change, or else I'm gonna be spending way to much money this summer!
  8. Boromir's powers sound really useful! I bet they will make use of those abilities at Amon Hen, maybe helping Merry and Pippin escape while he fends of the Uruks, until they reach where he gets killed by Lurtz. The one thing I'm really interested in is seeing how they tackle all the separate story lines that happen simultaneously, specifically during ROTK. I remember seeing that during Gandalf's fight with the Balrog, the second player can take control of the rest of the Fellowship and flee Moria. But, will that be the same for when Frodo and Sam meet Gollum while the Three Hunters enter Rohan? Or when the Fellowship stands at the Black Gate while Frodo and Sam reach Mount Doom? I'm really excited to see how they do all of this!
  9. Sorry to come in here and burst the bubble of excitement, but the Moria goblins don't necessarily have any relation to the Goblin Town goblins. I remember that the design for the Moria orcs' helmets was to reflect the shape of the Balrog, and how the orcs had, over the years, come to fear and worship the Balrog as a sort of god. This was completely made up by Peter Jackson, but still an interesting idea. That being said, the goblin from Goblin Town could very well look similar physically, but have different armour. As much as I would love to see the Moria helmets, I would be more excited by more orcs with different types of armour. Also, Bolg is the one who leads the orcs at the Battle of Five Armies. Azog was his father. I believe he was slain by Dain II at the Battle of Azanulbizar, after he killed Thror, Thorin's grandfather. I think they have cast someone as Thror and Azog for the film, so we will most likely see a flashback sequence about it. Maybe a set could be based off that?
  10. This is possibly the best SW set this wave, if not this year. It beats all the other SW sets in value, Minifigs, and design. The Boba is great (although I do wish they had made his arms a legs light bley rather than sand blue), Lando is phenomenal, Luke looks great, and Kithaba is a cool addition to my ever expanding group of SW aliens. What really impresses me about the set though is the sleekness of it. LEGO finally nailed the smooth look of the Skiff. The past two versions just didn't reach that level of smoothness that needed to be accomplished. I think this version does it because the front is one big piece, rather than a couple sloped pieces. Also, the Sarlaac is pretty darn cool, and being able to fit a full minifig in it is a big bonus. Hopefully we'll see a revamped Sail Barge in the future to go with this set (maybe with a Nikto and Weequay to make Jabba's entourage bigger). Also, we need an updated Slave Leia. This is a definite buy for me!
  11. I think Maul won't be dead by the end of season five. I like that he will be there right away. He should be an imminent threat. From the sounds of it, he will be going after not only Kenobi but Dooku as well, which will be really interesting. I'm most excited to see Palpatine's reaction to Maul's return.
  12. I think the chances are extremely high. The Uruk-hai Army is pretty much TLG saying "We'll give you this for now, but we want to make sets with lots or basic soldiers". LOTR is known for its massive scale armies and battles, so TLG would be silly if they didn't jump on the battle pack band wagon with this theme. I wouldn't be surprised to see elven battle packs first. It would go along with Helm's Deep, and Haldir is a little lonely without his Lorien friends.
  13. I would have to say my largest fleet is Republic, yet I have a decent amount of all the factions. Republic: Venator Cruiser CW Gunship Original and CW AT-TE Republic Fighter Tank Turbo Tank V-Wing Starfighter Obi-Wan's Starfighter (Ep. II and Hyperspace ring versions) Anakin's Starfighter (yellow Ep. III and CW versions) Ahsoka's, Plo Koon's, and Mace Windu's starfighters ARC-170 (2010 version) CW Jedi Shuttle CW 2009 Clone Trooper battle pack (two) Original 2007 Clone Trooper battle pack (one) There might be a few more, but they currently slip my mind. CIS: Original and 2007 MTT Original and CW AAT Pretty much all of the current CIS related CW sets, except for the Hyena bomber and a couple others. Also, most of the original Phantom Menace sets. Imperial: Death Star Star Destroyer Original TIE Fighter TIE Interceptor Original and 2009 TIE Advanced All Empire related battle packs Endor Bunker All three versions of the AT-ST 2011 AT-AT 2012 Anakin's Starfighter 2010 Palpatine's Shuttle Original Lambda Shuttle Probably some more I leaving out Rebels: 2007 Echo Base, 2009 Echo Base, and 2011 Echo Base Home One Original and 2006 X-Wing Original Y-Wing, A-Wing (original and Home One versions, Snowspeeder (original, 2007, and 2010 versions) Original, midi-scale and 2011 Millenium Falcon 2006 B-Wing All Rebel related battle packs And possibly more Bounty Hunter/Extra Original Jabba's Palace (with Jabba's Message and Jabba's Prize) All versions of Slave I Original and 2011 Anakin's Podracer 2011 Sebulba's Podracer CW Bounty Hunter Gunship Jabba's Sail Barge Original Skiff Original and 2010 Landspeeder Original and 2012 Escape Pod Mandalorian battle pack Assassin droid battle pack Original and 2007 Naboo Starfighter Possibly others (this list does not include anything other than sets that came with Minifigs, so no minis or UCS (minus the Death Star play set))
  14. I'm sorry, I honestly forgot you said you don't know where those legs are from.
  15. I'm getting confused... Do you know if the legs in the picture you posted can be purchased in other colors (dark brown) from a website such as Brickforge?
  16. I probably have a few thousand dollars CAD, although I've never taken the time to count it up. I've been collecting since it started in 1999, and I spent close to $1000 CAD last summer alone, so I could probably make a good deal of money if I ever considered selling. But I will never sell any of my LEGO.
  17. Oh, I see now. In the first picture you posted, they looked taller than the short legs, but now that I see they are just cut a glued, my interest has faded. I thought they were proper pieces, like Brickforge's centaur body.
  18. Do you know if they are for sale, or could you provide a link? I just searched Amazon and couldn't find anything.
  19. Do you know if they are sold by websites like Brickforge?
  20. Where are those legs from? That would look good for dwarves I think. It kind of upsets me when I have Frodo or one of the other hobbits next to Gimli and they are the same height. I also don't think he would look too tall next to elves or men. Also, on a side note, what is that Easterling design in your signature? It looks really cool, and I would live to see it as an official fig.
  21. Game of Thrones. I know it would never happen (I've read LEGO's criteria when considering sets from CUUSOO, and they don't like things that have too much gore, sex or drinking, so yeah). It would still be an amazing theme. There are so many characters and interesting locations (King's Landing, Winterfell, Harrenhall, the Eyrie, Vaes Dothrak), they could easily make at least three waves. It is too bad it would never happen, but I would love to have official Lannisters, Starks, Jon Snow, and White Walkers (Others) Minifigs.
  22. That has really made me reconsider the Palace set! I was planning on getting it anyway, but I might need to sooner. I think LEGO could have next years two biggest sets be a Rancor set to attach to the Palace, and then maybe a new revamp of the Sail Barge. It would be unfortunate to have ROTJ take up the biggests sets for next summer, because it would mean we might not get some other awesome bigger sets. They could do the Rancor set as an exclusive to come out this fall. Who knows. Just the thought of a possible Rancor set is exciting!
  23. I think a moderator (or anyone capable) should merge Ferriks first thread like this with this thread. Rather than having two threads with the same name floating around, it would be smart to just join them together. I voted, as I said in the other thread, for Moria. It has the most exclusive figures who are members of the Fellowship in one set, and it perfectly represents the scene. I don't think I could list the rest in any particular order, I love them all.
  24. I think the voice over for LOTR will be the best thing about it. In every video I've watched about the game from E3, Nick Ricks has emphasized how important the story was in the development of the game. I think that LOTR is too complex a story to relay in LEGO form without the original film dialogue. Also, kids who will be introduced to LOTR through this game will have a better chance of fully understanding the story with the dialogue. I've always felt that with the previous LEGO games there was always a lack of rich story telling, although it was humorous. I'm happy we are finally getting a LEGO game that depicts a film more like a film, rather than a bunch of levels that depicts some key scenes from the movie.
  25. I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that Shelob is a descendant of Ungoliant, the first giant spider who served Morgoth and was a demon, much like the Balrogs. Unless this has been disproven, that's my best guess.
