I find I can relate far too much with The Lego Movie's antagonist... I still have the instructions to almost every set I own, I like keeping things organized, and I hate people touching my stuff... I am even guilty of using Cragle on a few occasions, though only on minor things like feathers that for the life of them cannot stay in hats, and a crack in Darth Vader's lightsaber hilt that caused the saber to constantly fall out. I can't keep themes separate, though; if I have the opportunity to have Batman fight Darth Vader I'm damn well going to take it.

Minifig parts and accessories you don't like
Zoshi replied to AmperZand's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I like the old whip too. I also don't like rubbery hairpieces as much. I've been trying to get over it because a quite a few hairpieces are using it now but I can't help but feel a bit disappointed when I get them. -
I'm kind of torn on this. While I get that they are targeting a demographic and that there are people out there who like pink and princesses and girly crap like that(I do too, to a certain extent), I feel like it's supporting the gender stereotyping that girls can ONLY like things like that and ONLY girls can like them. Just the other day my little sister asked me why I bought "boy" Lego sets. I don't necessarily blame Lego for it, they're just supplying more options, as a lot of people have said before I believe the problem is from a society that raises people to believe they have to like a certain thing based on gender, age, etc. So while I don't think it's causing a problem, it's probably supporting a bigger problem. As for my thoughts on Friends, Elves, etc., they just don't appeal to me simply because minifigs are a big part of the hobby for me and I cannot stand the minidolls.

When can I post in sell and buy section

You have to have at least 100 posts before you can create a topic there. Source: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=30232 -
What are some annoying things(big or small) that you've come across being a AFOL? Mine would be: "Aren't you kind of old for this?" No. When two pieces get so stuck together not even a brick separator can get them apart(looking at you, flat 1x2 bricks… ) Folded instruction manuals Stickers STEPPING ON THE DAMN THINGS That piece that falls off if I so much as look at it funny Realizing the set I wanted but couldn't afford has been discontinued and is now selling for twice the price online SDCC exclusives Looking up minifigs on ebay or amazon and finding bootlegs… bootlegs everywhere

Unfortunately I'm worried storing them in containers would pose the same problem with them getting scratched by rubbing together, seems like individual bags will be my best option until I get enough space/money to display them.

For me I usually like to keep the sets for display. I've been thinking of getting into MOCing and making stop motion videos, photography and such but I'm a bit pressed for time and space at the moment.

It's been used as a sword a few times though. Off the top of my head I believe it was used as a sword by one of the Thuggees in the Temple of Doom set. That would explain why it's so awkward though. -
Thanks for the suggestions! I think if I go into MOCing I'll start using that organization system. However, would it be extremely difficult to recover the sets after organizing? I'm worried that I'll have to chose between keeping the sets and MOCing.

I have about a hundred opened lego sets, some with 1000+ pieces that I've been keeping in their boxes. However, I've been thinking of taking them out and separating and organizing them by pieces. However, I'd still like to be able to build the original sets and I don't have any immediate plans for making MOCs or anything so I'm wondering if doing this will end up being more trouble than it's worth. I don't mind the organizing part, but once that's done I'm wondering how difficult it will be to put the sets back together. I still have the instructions for the sets. I'd just like things to be a bit more organized and possibly get rid of the boxes because they take up too much space. Also, because of money constraints "organizing" at the moment would consist of putting similar pieces in ziplock bags.

Thanks, I'll check it out!

This. So much. Jabba's Palace now selling for almost 3 times the price… Looks like I was lucky though, I still have my sets from my childhood. Was going to sell them but never got around to it… Other than that… hmm. Never contacting Lego when my SW advent calendar was missing Santa Yoda (I contacted them about it on a whim recently, didn't expect anything but they sent me Yoda with Santa C3PO's torso, not perfect but I am really grateful. Another reason Lego is awesome ) Getting rid of my Lego games during my dark ages, drawing on the face of one of my minfigs in sharpie and then trying to remove it with a nail file… Removing legs/arms/hands etc. on minifigs for no reason, some of my minifigs have cracks/loose parts now.

What was your first lego set?
Zoshi replied to Chilly_Productions's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I bought a few small sets at the same time: 7195 Ambush in Cairo, 7197 Venice Canal Chase, 8401 City Minifigure Collection, 7567 City traveler, 5899 House Building Set and 7639 Camper. I was a bit older when I started collecting so I still have most of them in good condition, sans a few missing pieces here and there. Before that, the only Lego I had was a grey ninja wearing sunglasses I found on the ground at school. -
I didn't get into Lego until I was older, around middle school. I was obsessed with stuffed animals as a kid so bricks and little brick people didn't interest me so much. I remember later going into a Lego aisle as a kid and seeing the Indiana Jones Fight on the Flying Wing set and wanting it, but ultimately got something else. The video games were what really got me into collecting, I wanted to collect the minifigures of my favorite characters in the game. Unfortunately since I got into it so late it wasn't long until I felt the pressure to "grow up", and hid my sets in my closet and got rid of the video games after a friend of mine saw them. She didn't say anything mean, just asked if I liked them and I lied and said no, they're kind of stupid and got rid of them later. Same with my sets, when she saw them I just said I was going to try to sell them to earn money for a car and didn't take them out of my closet until recently. Later I developed more self confidence and decided to get the games and play them again for nostalgic reasons, which again got me back into Lego. While I haven't done much collecting lately, mostly just picking up a few low price sets because I have a money/space constraint, I've started taking out my old sets and minifigs and displaying them.

Like the topic says, what's your favorite licensed minifigure you own? Least favorite? What minifigure that you don't have do you want most? Or a minifigure you'd like to be made? For me, my favorite would probably be Poison Ivy (original variant) because she was my favorite character in the video games when I was a kid, and those games were what got me into Lego in the first place. I also like Aayla Secura, Boba Fett (new variant), Robin (old variant with wavy hair), and Luke Skywalker (new variant). My least favorite… I don't really know, I love all my minifigs But if I had to choose… probably Spongebob, just kinda over the whole Spongebob craze and he's not the best looking minifig. And Sugi… just kind of a boring design My least favorite that I don't own… Malevolence Padme. I don't get why they didn't use her design from the video game, giving her Will Turner's hairpiece just seems lazy. My most wanted… Queen Amidala, white Boba Fett (new variant), Boba Fett (old variant), Oola, and Hera(ALL THE TWI'LEKS ) Most wanted that I will most likely never own… Phoenix, Spider Woman, white/bronze/gold Boba Fett (old), and Nightwing (old).

Hi! I've recently gotten back into Lego collecting, so I haven't really set up a good storage situation yet. I've been keeping most of my bricks/minifigures organized in plastic ziplock bags, but recently while going through my minfigures I noticed that one of my Poison Ivy (old variant) figures had a scratch on her lips. This could have been because most of my minifigures are played with, but I don't remember her being scratched before being in the bag… I'm wondering if keeping them in the bags will cause scratches/damage, or if the scratch is most likely from before? I have a couple large bags with 50-75 minifigures in each and so far haven't noticed any damage to any of my other figures (haven't been looking too hard though.) Could it simply be because it's an old figure? I've been trying not to move the bags too much after I found the scratch, but is there a better storage option? Keep in mind I'm a bit tight on money/space right now. Thanks!

I actually like the scimitar… I've never been a fan of this type of sword though. Gotta agree on the Stormtrooper parts though, cannot stand the leg pieces. Collar piece isn't so bad, just kind of bulky looking. I also hate this type of whip: Not exactly sure why… guess I'm just kind of sick of seeing it.
