Disney Properties 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Cinderella looks great (the colors make sense, since those are the colors used on her for virtually all Disney merch these days). Can't wait to see the other figures, although I'm bummed that such iconic characters are going to be exclusive to a $400+ set. -

I found a bunch at my local Walmart last Thursday. I went back the next day and they were completely sold out. I think this series is going to be pretty popular with both adults and kids. -

oh definitely not. I mean, the Disney CMF 3 does a tremendous job of covering different eras from the company's 100-year history--but there are still SO many characters that could be included in future series. The Disney fandom is similar to the Star Wars fandom in that even the most minor of characters still has an avid fanbase. I would personally love to see The Sword in The Stone represented by some minifigures--I was super excited to see that the titular objects were included with the framed icons set! -

Oh man, I would LOVE for Fang to be included in an upcoming set. I have fond memories of playing as him in the first LEGO Harry Potter videogame. I still have Narcissa Malfoy from the 2010/2011 range, but I agree that she needs to make a reappearance. I'm excited about the rumored Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes set--Diagon Alley was out of my price range, but I've always loved that particular location. -

RE: The newly leaked Little Mermaid set. I think it looks pretty great? I'm not a fan of Disney's live-action "remakes" in general, so I probably would have preferred something based on the 1989 film. But I love the detailing on the minifigures--if they go for a decent price on BrickLink I might have to pick up some of them for my kids (a set this large is just out of my price range--no matter what it's based on). -

So excited to see the leaked bag and flyer! My 2 cents on each figure: • Oswald - A fun nod to Disney history--the figure looks to be in-line with previously released Mickey and friends figures which is fine by me! • Pinocchio - He looks great! It's a little weird that they've added a nose, but I guess it makes sense given that his nose features prominently in the story! I'm curious to see if the hat/hair is attached to the head. • Jiminy Cricket - Another great figure, even if it's a little strange that he is the same size as Pinocchio. • Sorcerer Mickey - Honestly, this one looks fantastic to me. It's such an iconic look for the character, and they captured it really well. • Tiana - It's hard to make out some of details, but the printing looks great. The traditional slope piece looks a little weird IMO but I'm sure I'll get used to it. • Dr. Facilier - This one translates really well to minifigure form, IMO. I'm excited to add him to the growing villains collection! • Queen of Hearts - She's perfectly executed! I know she's the only Wonderland character in this series, but I'm glad they included her to go along with Alice! • Aurora - It's a little odd that they included an owl, given that she doesn't interact with any animals while wearing this particular dress, but both her and the owl look fantastic, and I know my kids will be excited to get another princess minifigure. • Mulan - Mulan rarely wears this particular costume in promotional materials, but she looks great! It's too bad that Mushu wasn't included. If Cheshire Cat can be adapted to minifigure form, I feel like Mushu could have worked as well. • Ernesto De La Cruz - I would have preferred Hector instead of Ernesto, but the figure looks great so far--I can't wait for a closer look at that guitar! • Miguel - Honestly, I think this was a great way to capture Dante, even if the mold isn't the perfect fit. I'm so glad they decided to include characters from this movie! • Pocahontas - This one is unexpectedly great! The "colors of the wind" is a nice touch. • Cruella Deville - The "cloak" piece definitely makes her look more complete. The inclusion of the puppy is the cherry on top. Can't wait to get this one! • Robin Hood - He looks fantastic! Robin Hood is such an underrated Disney film IMO. • Prince John - Not gonna lie, I kind of wish this spot had gone to a different character--they could have included Robin without him. But still, he looks well done. • Stitch - I adore this character, but I feel like his inclusion here was unnecessary since we got him in the first series. Plus, the antennae are just as significant to his alien form as the extra arms are. This spot should have gone to Lilo--especially since she would be pretty easy to create from existing parts. • Baymax - I'm curious to get a closer look at his arms. He's definitely one of the weaker entries here, but I don't think he's bad. • Evil Queen - Another perfectly executed figure--and I love that they included the mirror! I'll be really annoyed if we don't get Snow White pretty soon though. In all, this is my favorite Disney CMF series so far--a great mix of iconic characters (Sorcerer Mickey, Cruella) and characters that don't tend to get a lot of merch (Oswald, Robin Hood). I also like the variety of eras represented here--everything from early Disney to *fairly* recent Disney. Pinocchio and Cruella are must-haves for me, but I know my kids are going to want most of these characters. I'm excited that LEGO seems to be upping their budget for their Disney line--hopefully there will be more surprises later this year! -

I was so excited to see the three leaked figures this morning! Of the three, Mickey looks the best. It's such an iconic design and they captured it so well. Do we think he will come with a regular broom, or one moulded to look like the brooms from Fantasia? The Queen looks kind of strange without her cape/collar, but I'm sure she'll have those in the finished product. I love the new mould being used for her crown. Cruella is probably my favorite Disney villain, so I am so excited that we'll be getting this figure. That said, her coat looks kind of odd being printed onto the minifigure like that--but I can't really think of any other way to capture such a large item of clothing with LEGO. Oh well, I'm sure it will grow on me. The new hair mould is excellent, and I love the inclusion of Patch! -

With 43217 Carl's House from Up being newly revealed, I'm wondering if that same hat/hair piece used for Russell will be used for Short Round. -

Both of these sets look great--and they're priced surprisingly well, too IMO. The Up house is an absolute must-have for me. I love the figures and I love the build. I especially love that they didn't make it a huge "collector's edition" set because I don't have the budget or the space for something like that. The train--while much more modest--is really cute. They did a great job of adding personality to each train car--especially for a 4+ set. 6 licensed figures at that price point is seriously a steal! That being said, I don't know that I'll be picking it up, since my kids and I already have most of those characters; we're just missing Tinkerbell (who I imagine will be fairly affordable on BrickLink) and Moana (although my kids have the minidoll version of her). -

That leaked Mickey looks fine--about what I expected. I'm definitely curious to see the other characters from that set. That Peter Pan set, on the other hand, is disappointing. I don't mind the mini-dolls so much (or are they "micro mini-dolls?"), but I'm bummed that the set is based on the upcoming live-action "Peter and Wendy" and not on the classic Peter Pan. But I *think* this is the first time one of Disney's live-action "reimaginings" has been translated into a LEGO set, so I guess there's that. And if the target audience (kids) likes it, then I'm happy for them. -
The new Rivendell set is BEAUTIFUL! Alas, $500 is just too much for my poor little bank account. I will, however, plan on eventually buying some of the new hobbit feet on BrickLink so that I can update my old hobbit figures!

I'm really hoping the Maleficent set and the Seven Dwarfs set are for-real, because they both look great! I'm trying temper my expectations, though. -

I agree--I'm not necessarily *wanting* the theme to end, but if it does end I feel pretty satisfied with what we got--especially compared to what the theme was like when they ended it in 2011. -

LOVE this line-up! Pinocchio, Jiminy Cricket, and Cruella are must-haves for me--and I know that my kids will want a lot of the others. I hope this is true, because Snow White and Dopey were the other two characters I really wanted to get from the CMF series. -

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 23. Rumors and discussion

I finally found these at my local Walmart the other day! I picked up the Sugarplum Fairy, the Knight, and the Elf Girl for my kids (they LOVED them), and the Nutcracker for myself. Still not my favorite series, but my kids love them--and they're definitely more TLG's target audience than I am! -
Fascinating that this theme might be making a comeback! I'm not really into BrickHeadz, so I probably wouldn't pick up any of those. I think location miniatures could be really cool for this theme--and they could still throw in a few minifigures for display purposes. Of course, I'd love to see them give LOTR the Harry Potter treatment with brand new minifig-scale sets and a bunch of new molds. I loved the Lego LOTR video game back in the day, and there are a number of minifigures I would love to get in physical form (Eowyn! The Witch King! Gondorian Soldiers!) I haven't watched Rings of Power yet, so I have zero opinion on whether or not it would work well for LEGO sets. I *do* want to see the show--I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Disney Properties 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

I liked the previously mentioned ideas of Cruella's car or sets based on The Lion King. I think the biggest thing to keep in mind is that TLG/Disney will be aiming for a broad audience here--so the likelihood of more obscure films/characters is pretty low at this point (sorry, Oswald fans). As a parent of young kids, I can tell you that The Lion King, Lilo and Stitch, and (of course) all of the fairy tale-based films are still super popular with the little ones. Given the fact that separate lines already exist for Disney Princesses and Mickey and Friends, I'm very curious to see what these might be based on! -

Stuff like this is fascinating to me--thanks for sharing! With D23 this weekend, does anyone think we'll get a glimpse of the new series? I feel like it's still too far out, but I wouldn't mind a tease! -

Good call on the chameleon! Molds already exist for The Beast's head and Rapunzel's hair (for the Friends-style figures). I'm not sure if The Beast's head could be used for a minifigure? I've never seen the piece in-person. Rapunzel's hair could *definitely* be improved on, but I think it could work in a pinch. -

Hooray for more Disney figures! I wanted LEGO to make them since I was a kid, and now my own kids LOVE the figures from the previous 2 series! Here are my predictions/wishes: 1. Snow White (w/ apple, of course) 2. Dopey (w/ pickaxe and gem) NOTE: the current x-mas elf hat/ears mold would work PERFECTLY for Dopey 3. Pinocchio (w/ school book) 4. Sorcerer Mickey (no accessory, since the hat would need to be a new mold) 5. Princess Minnie Mouse (from The Brave Little Tailor--again, she would require a new mold for the hat) 6. Mary Poppins (w/ umbrella) 7. Cruella de Vil (w/ purse) 8. Belle (w/ book) NOTE: I could see them putting her in either the ball gown or her blue dress from the beginning of the film 9. Beast (w/ enchanted rose) 10. Rapunzel (w/ hair brush) 11. Flynn Rider (w/ wanted poster and satchel) 12. Mirabel (w/ magic candle and butterfly) Of the figures I listed, only Mickey, Minnie, Pinocchio, Mary Poppins, and Cruella would require new molds. I also wouldn't put it past TLG to feature Woody and Jessie in the series--reusing the molds from Toy Story 4 and giving the figures better printing. I'd prefer that they weren't included, but I also wouldn't mind getting better figures for those characters. -

I'm late to the discussion here, but I think the 4+ AT-ST is pretty cute, and it has a nice selection of minifigures as well. TBH, I actually really like the 4+ Star Wars sets--they remind me of the more "blocky" early sets that LEGO produced--they're not as accurate to what's on the screen, but they have a lot of charm and they're fun and easy for kids to put together. -

I still haven't been able to find these here in North Carolina--just one random blind bag that was misplaced on a clearance shelf at my local Target. I was happy to get Fozzie but I really want to get Kermit (and eventually the whole set). -
So I've been playing through LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and--like most LEGO games--it has made me wistful for the number of characters/locations/ships that TLG still hasn't produced in physical form (or hasn't updated in the last decade). My favorites so far: - General Leia Organa from The Last Jedi - Banthas and Rontos that aren't brick-built - Zam Wesell and her speeder - Death Star Microfighter - Canto Bight (with Fathiers!) - Anything to do with Naboo - Podracers that don't belong to Anakin - Babu Frik Has anyone else played the game yet, and are there any specific characters/locations/ships you would love to see in physical form?
