  1. I was mainly listening for the "clinking" of the two axe heads. Not sure if that helps much.
  2. Just popping in here to say that I got lucky last night and pulled a Vampire Knight from Walmart! The QR codes were the small ones, and I don't have a scale--so I just went by "sound the pieces make when I shake the box." It really is a fantastic figure--a great tribute to a classic design, while still feeling fresh and in-line with modern LEGO.
  3. I would LOVE to get a giraffe (we got awfully close this last year when a giraffe appeared in a Friends set). I'd also love for them to update the parrot mold. I associate the old one (the one that was often printed) with a lot of LEGO's best "retro" themes: Castle (where it was unprinted and grey), Pirates, Islanders, etc. I feel like a South American setting for these new sets makes the most sense, given the fact that we recently had a City subtheme that focused on African animals. Regardless, I am excited to see what the designers come up with!
  4. I'm withholding criticism since the pics we have right now are pretty blurry. But I'm excited by what I see so far!
  5. I love the new series! So many suprises--especially the long-hoped-for return of the goat! My personal favorites are the Noir Detective and the updated Bat Lord (with an honorable mention for the Goat Herder). I know my kids are going to be hyped for the Mushroom Girl, Dog Groomer, and Train Kid. While it's a bummer that these will be in boxes and not bags, I'm in favor of anything that is going to be better for the environment. I ended up buying the few figures I wanted from the recent Marvel series on BrickLink and paid around $5 for each brand new--so the switch really isn't the end of the world.
  6. Honestly I have a hunch that LEGO's poor treatment of the Indy franchise this year (despite the excellent quality of the few sets we did receive) is a product of Disney's poor marketing of the new film. I don't think Disney has a good handle on the franchise, which could explain why the merchandise rollout was perplexingly uneven.
  7. I don't post on the SW forums often, but the rumor of anniversary figures has me excited! Darth Malak and Fives are both already rumored, so here are a few other characters I'd love to see included: Doctor Aphra Babu Frik Queen Amidala (a reissue of the figure that came with the Gungan sub would be awesome) Kit Fisto (updated figure) Max Rebo (reissue) General Leia Organa (preferably from The Last Jedi)
  8. I still have that 2010 Hagrid's Hut--I actually really like the main build, but that Aragog is hilariously bad.
  9. Here are my predictions! Ice elf with ice bow Professional basketball player with basketball Popsicle suit guy (or girl) with popsicle Model train enthusiast with model train and piece of track Gamer girl with controller Cow suit guy (or girl) with milk carton Leprechaun girl with rainbow and coins Fashion model Shepherd/shepherdess with lamb Dinosaur enthusiast (kid with a dino t-shirt and a toy dinosaur) Friendly witch (using the canceled Vidiyo hat from the Hocus Pocus set) Futuristic scientist with alien plant
  10. I saw people on Instagram speculating that these might be the rumored Maleficent and Snow White cottage--an idea that I think is laughable at those price points and piece counts (ok . . . maybe they could squeeze the Maleficent dragon into a $65 set, but I sincerely doubt it). Regardless, I'm excited that there are still sets based on classic Disney films in the works! I'm curious/excited to see what they might be! I'd personally love to see some of the minifigures from the castle included in more affordable sets, but I could see TLG holding off on that for a bit to maintain demand for the more expensive set. Obviously, something based on Beauty and the Beast would be exciting. I'd also LOVE to get minifigures from The Sword in the Stone, but I know that's unlikely since that film has never moved a lot of merchandise for Disney.
  11. This is good news! I hope TLG does more mid-budget sets like the Up House. That one seemed like the perfect "sweet spot" to me: great display value, desirable minifigures, and great playability for kids--all for $60.
  12. Yeah, this year's advent calendar is quite the letdown. I liked the GotG theme last year, but this year it looks like they're just coasting on "general MCU" with recognizable characters. Oh well, I'm sure kids will like it--and that's what really counts.
  13. I'm still waiting for TLG to revisit Zam Wesell. #7133 was such a great set, but it's badly outdated at this point. As for elements from recent Disney media, I'd love to see Maarva and B2EMO from Andor included in a set--although neither character really sees much action. We're also due for an updated Mon Mothma. I don't know if TLG would want to develop anything based on Star Wars: Visions, but there are some awesome ships/characters that would be fun to get in Lego form!
  14. I'm very much a casual MCU fan, so I'll refrain from voicing my opinion on which characters should have or should not have been included. However, I loved both Agatha Harkness and Moon Knight in their respective Disney+ shows, so I am looking forward to picking up both of those figures!
  15. I think a lot of this is dependent on how Disney chooses to market the film and its merchandise. For example, most of the toys released in conjunction with the live-action Mulan were still centered on the classic animated film--whereas the toys released in conjunction with the recent live-action Littler Mermaid were actually based on the new film.
  16. I love the color palette and the parts usage for the Peter Pan set, but that price tag . . . ugh.
  17. Yeah, I think Rapunzel (and maybe Snow White too) would have been better suited to regular minifigure legs with a cloth skirt piece. But I'm just excited that we're getting these characters in minifigure form! My kids have the minidolls, but I always prefer traditional minifigures (and my kids go back-and-forth on which form they prefer).
  18. Snow White looks good--I still wish she had been in the CMF series though, instead of being an exclusive to such an expensive set.
  19. The new microscale Hogwarts looks great, but they really need to make up their minds on the color of the castle roof!
  20. Posted this in the Marvel forum on accident: The Batwing looks great, but I really wish TLG would have included another character in either this set or the Batmobile set. Even a generic Joker goon or a Gotham City cop would have enhanced either set.
  21. Some scattered thoughts: I'm going to assume the Superheroes team had a smaller budget this year, based on these images. That said, I think both the Spider-Man Final Battle and Endgame Final Battle (couldn't they have come up with more creative names???) look like they'll make pretty cool display pieces--I'm especially impressed with how much the designers were able to do with what is essentially piles of rubble for the Endgame set. I really like the new trans-clear stands introduced in this wave (at least I think they're new?), and I'm looking forward to seeing how else they can be used. [EDIT: ACCIDENTALLY INCLUDED THOUGHTS ON A DC SET--MOVED COMMENT TO THE DC DISCUSSION] That mini Hulkbuster is hilarious, but that price point is not. Also: I really wish TLG would start to include a more diverse range of characters in their smaller sets. Also: *another* Hulkbuster???
  22. I'm excited for the upcoming CMF series! I'm looking forward to getting Moon Knight and Agatha Harkness (assuming the leaked list from a while ago is legit).
  23. I'm still disappointed that a sequel to The LEGO Batman Movie was scrapped, because those were probably my favorite DC sets. They pulled from a wide variety of DC media for the figures and the builds were really over-the-top and fun.
  24. I would love a Squirrel Girl figure! Sadly, I feel like it's pretty unlikely at this point, unless she were to randomly show up in a mech (an idea that I wouldn't be opposed to). She's the perfect character for a Marvel CMF, but the first series (and if rumors are true the second series as well) only had characters from the MCU/MCU-adjacent (like What If? and WandaVision).
  25. ooohh I love the idea of a Pizza Planet truck! We had one back in 2010, but it was very oddly scaled. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for a Seven Dwarfs' Cottage either this year or next year. I just hope it isn't as huge as the leaked prototype b/c that would only drive up the price. I'd love to see something in the scale of Carl's house from Up--large enough to include details/easter eggs, but still more of a playset and not a USC-type set. I'm genuinely surprised we're getting a minifigure of Walt himself, since the company has never really produced a lot of merchandise in his likeness. It's not really a must-have for me, but I'm sure the set will sell well. As far as other properties I'd love to see represented in a set, my top picks would be Mary Poppins, Ratatouille, and The Haunted Mansion (I know we had that micro-scale HM last year, but there's potential for so much more).
