A good decision I say! I really wanted the mach 5 because it is what the show/movie is all about, but the design just didn't seem near as good as the Racer X/Taejo set.
-
I agree with svelte corps, I have the racer X and Taejo set and it's pretty good, and the design of the mach 5 isn't that great. I like the mach 6 in the grand prix set though, but there is a huge price difference between the two smaller sets and the grand prix set.

122 sets, this includes doubles of some sets and a few space port and discovery space sets. The majority are classic space though. Add another 20 sets if you want to count all the spare space baseplates.

A poll to decide a star wars set for february 2009
Hewman replied to darkrebellion's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I voted for Mon Calamari Cruiser Set, I'd just love an Admiral Ackbar fig and a spare A-wing can always come in handy. I thik the arrest of Palpatine will win purely for being such a good minifig set. Only 9 months until we find out the result! -
And just to add a little background to this. One of the reasons The Lego Company insist on this is that people often refer to "legos" as any brand of construction brick, and as we all know, Lego bricks are superior to any other brand. Also, you might find it in small writing on the back of some catalogs as to how The Lego Company like you to refer to their bricks and products.

Logray (ewok shaman from return of the jedi)
Hewman replied to Bobskink's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
brilliant! As for the stripes, it's a tough call, they might make it look too busy. Maybe the stripes could be in a fairly subtle colour, not quite as obvious as the ones in the movie. -
A friend told me that That 70s Show had a classic space 493 command centre in it and everyone picking on the guy for playing with lego because he was 17 or something. I also saw a 6206 Tie Interceptor on a shelf in a tv ad (unless I'm getting confused about where I saw it) her in Oz.

Aren't you the guy that said the following in another thread (that's a rhetorical question, you are) "Too much money, more than all of you. I'm serious, i've been collecting legos for 11-12 years now (Im 13 ). Im really, really, REALLY spoiled. I used to go to tru like 3 times a week to buy legos. i have 3 huge cardboard boxes, a closet with 4 huge plastic containers, 3 drawers full of tiny pieces ( likes 1x1's and 1x2's, etc..) and waaaaaayyyyyyy more. I can just keep going on, and on and on and on and on.. I also have al least 3 boxes handed down from my multiple cousins. Maybe like $9,000 - over a million spent on legos. (Seriously, im not making this up, im rich )" Given your abundance of wealth, surely a couple hundred $s for the agents line would just be laying around in loose change. Or did you spend all your money buying the rights for the trademark using the word "Lego" in your sig?

All the parts from the 6210 sail barge to build the skiff and the sarlacc pit, or so I thought until I realised i ordered some wrong parts and also missed a few others, I really shouldn't place orders late at night. Thankfully another seller had everything I missed out on so they should be coming soon. Is there an emoticon for slapping yourself in the forehead because you've been stupid, if so, insert it here.
-
it looks like an exo-force set on 'roids, great work!!
-
That is stupid but I love it for I don't know what reason. It took me a while to find the hands, guess I shouldn't have assumed they'd be yellow, particularly with a stormie there.
-
I have no idea but if I was offered $20,000 for it I'd decline the offer. Although I'm sure this must factor in a lot of sentimental value and time spent sourcing sets and parts. I have no idea how to put a value on these http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=257141 which is about 2/3 of my collection of classic space sets done in blacktron 1 colours. I had to source parts from all over the world and often at rather steep prices.

I believe they were meant to be used as keyrings and for whatever reason they weren't. Many of the figs have a white plastic clip glued to the back that looks like a keyring attachment was meant to be inserted into. I am pretty sure they weren't used for some lego display as there'd be no need to put this other attachment on the back of them.

Of which contents should a SW BP generally consist?
Hewman replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Where was my choice of 4 ewoks with weapons? Am I serious, only I know. I like anything generic, they can save specific characters for bigger sets, I don't want to end up with 6 of one character (or 10 like the number of Lukes I have). -
new cd by The Presets For those that don't know them, Oz band which is a bit of a mix of electronica and alternative rock. One of their songs was used on the US 'so you think you can dance' last year with the two final guys dancing in a choreographed battle together, really impressive.

The outside is nice, but the inside is absolutely awesome!! Love it, and some nice photography too, really shows off the inside well. The fireplace is sensational did you use a light up brick from that mythical creatures set (the one that makes it look like a dragon is breathing fire) for it?
-
The AT-STs have been that price for months and still aren't moving off the shelves!
-
It sounds like what you are describing is someone just swapping the head form one of their older Han Solo figs. Unlike mixtures of old and new grays appearing in sets I have never heard of a single case of mixing yellow and flesh head colours as there wasn't really a cross-over period as sets were only ever available in one version unlike the Death star and UCS ISD.
-
Nice find but yes that temple is expensive, it'd be cheaper to get it off bricklink in the US and have it shipped over .I might wait for Target's next 15% off sale, they seem to come around fairly regularly for lego/toys/or the whole store.
-
The smaller Speed Racer set with Racer X, looks pretty cool but if you don't like stickers stay away from it, particularly on the red car that comes with it.
-
What about a new bigger cantina, drop the stormie and the speeder and you could get a much bigger building. Also those that thought it might be the ISD (I assume you mean minifig scale) I really don't think it will be that as it is still available on Shop at Home in several countries including Australia.

Most definitely, having seen some of the outstanding steam punk MOCs it would be brilliant to see what Lego could do with new pieces and old pieces in new steampunk colours.
-
Hmmm, tough call, it'd would be the bat cave if it had the batmobile instead of that ice car sled thing, yes I know it's to chase Mr Freeze, but it's not a particularly well designed vehicel either structurally or aesthetically. the minifig batmobile is pretty good but maybe not quite tough enough looking. But because of all the little touches such as electro shock tables and weapons of torture and individualised cells, I'd have to go for Arkham Asylum, and it has a great lot of figs, although it does have a joker cell but no joker which seemed a bit weird.

Us Australians are about to become guinea pigs for ebay to see how much money they can screw out of everyone. Come June, payment on ebay.com.au will only be through paypal (or cash for local pick up), they are banning the use of bank transfers, money orders or anything else that they can't grab their extra few percent from. They claim it's like the introduction of compulsory seatbelt laws for driving, it's all about protection...not the most appropriate analogy I'd suggest. Anyway, I assume they're trialling this system so they can use it worldwide at a later date. The weird thing is that my only problems with potentially losing my money were with paypal payments, but I was fortunate enough to lodge a claim before the culprits tried to run with the funds, others weren't so lucky. I never had a single issue with a bank transfer, it's harder for a seller to hide behind the anonymity that you can get with paypal. Hopefully the reputable lego sellers on ebay discover there is another great venue for selling lego and they can save a substantial amount in fees, although bricklink doesn't get the occasional crazy auction bidding you see on ebay and maybe that is what attracts some sellers. I was particularly interested in seeing if this ends up aplying to Europe as well, as I've noticed many German sellers only accept cash or bank deposit.
