  1. Well the trip to Myer was fruitless, no new Star Wars or Lego delivery truck. ALthough the book section had the new Atlantis brickmaster book which if you have a myer one voucher you can get some nice discounts for purchasing more than one book and unlike the toys it's a whole percentage off rather than get one free. Full price was $40, and if you buy 4 books (any books) you get 40% off all purchases.
  2. Interesting, thanks! For those in Adelaide, I'm going to check out Myer at lunch time in the city, so if anyone wants me to look for anything in particular to take advantage of the 3 for 2 sale, let me know.
  3. By "was" do you mean you saw one and grabbed it or was there still one (or more) there when you left?
  4. This is probably a long shot, but in my local target (in SA) they weren't with the lego but out the front of the shop, so it might be worth checking out any stands near the entrance.
  5. +1 for crossmr, super friendly and easy as to deal with.
  6. The easiest thing to do is to click on the catalog entry for the set, there should be a link when you click on the picture, then click on 'inv' for inventory and that will tell you everything. Here's the link 10210 Inventory But the short answer is pearl dark gray for the cannons and red for the bases.
  7. OK, now that's just showing off how much talent you have! It's absolutely beautiful and the colour scheme is outstanding, well done!!
  8. I think it all looks brilliant and if the official set can look anywhere near as good I'll be happy. Thanks for sharing it!
  9. Thanks for letting us know, I rushed down there but shelves were pretty bare unless you want threee copies of some star wars sets. I got my hand on a new catalog and a lot of stuff is due out in August. The Toys R Us transport fan vote set is listed as September, as are the two new big Atlantis sets.
  10. The hat has the look of all the new molds before they're finalised, I remember the camels from the PoP line had this look when the first pics came out. For me this is stronger evidence that it's not a custom or fake.
  11. It well could be. For those that wonder what he's doing on a camel, he's pictured next to what looks like Dastan from PoP in another pic on fbtb, unless there's something with camels I missed in the movies. Lego having PoC sets does seem to fit very neatly with Lego stopping the pirates line after just one year as they and Disney wouldn't want the two competing against each other. The Jack Sparrow fig looks very impressive.
  12. Exactly, I'm sure there are masses of little details we can't pick up in this one pic and I'm sure there will be plenty of pleasant surprises when more detailed pics are released.
  13. Yeah Kingdoms sets (excluding impulses) have been available in Adelaide toyworld for a few weeks now. It might pay to ring around a few stores.
  14. All you need is your own set of stickers saying Lay-go and you'll have your own exclusive. Thanks for letting us know it's in the country, I don't know of anyone spotting it until now. Also for those in Adelaide, collectible figs are still in Adelaide toyworld, however, they've jacked up the price to $4.99 and there was almost a full box there to buy. With the more interesting second wave due to hit shelves next month, I think I'll wait until then. Might be a good time to check out the newly opened store south of Adelaide with the new Lego truck.
  15. I don't think it's due for release until next month, and there haven't been any reports here of it being seen in Aus, although it's started to show up on shop at home for some other countries I believe.

It was even better a year or two ago, had almost all Harry Potter sets at reasonable prices, the Studios line seemed to have a different set discounted every time I went there. About two years ago I stupidly did a favour for someone on bricklink that wanted a cloud city Boba Fett for his son (and a long sob story about his son) and told him toycorner sold them for $25 AUD and would ship to USA. Then I find out he bought them all purely for re-sale on bricklink.
  17. The VIP system is now on shop at home for Australians, basically it equates to a 5% (of money spent) voucher to use later. However, you can't register online, you need to call them. Speaking of Lego memberships, has anyone received confirmation about Lego club membership from the Myer sale? I sent mine in two days after the sale started and haven't had an email to say it has been processed.
  18. Thanks for posting that Siegfried, I hadn't seen it before. I think I wisely chose to watch it with the volume off. There were some fantastic creations by the AFOLs in WA. It's a fantastic effort to get that harbour Bridge to not collapse under its own weight.
  19. Just saw a link to a certain major movie star loving his lego, and if you can't be bothered clicking on the link, it's Brad Pitt. Brad Pitt hooked on lego
  20. If you go to the Barnes and Noble website, www.bn.com, you can get a code for 20% off one item and their shipping to Australia is quite reasonable. That's if you have any money left after the sales here. Edit: I got to the checkout point and I can get The Battle of ALamut set, shipped here for a grand total of $70.54 US which according to xe.com is $83.46, which is approximately a 40% saving on Australian RRP!
  21. I've actually found that the majority of sets I'm buying these days are licensed. I haven't even seen the PoP movie but I love the sets, and their pricing was very reasonable for a licensed set. The licensed figs are often more interesting than non-licensed themes as there is more obvious variety as individual characters need to be easily identifiable. Also, as others have said, the new molds that have arisen because they were needed for a licensed set are fantastic as they add to the brick selection for all sets. Finally, I'm sure that Lego pays very different license fees depending on the movie/tv show, and being in the business they are, there will always some themes that fail, and some that have success beyond expectations, but there's no sure fire way of knowing this until they've been released.
  22. For those in Adelaide, Myer TTP had one cargo train about an hour ago and there's the extra 10% off. It looks like a brilliant set, so if you're on the fence I say grab it now or you'll regret it later. Also just around the corner from TTP Toy Corner has crawler crane 7632 for $59 and some change down from $99 RRP. Also I was surprised to see the Indiana Last crusade 2 plane set (7198 I think from memory) there, originally marked at the overpriced RRP of $89, but down to about $76 after discount. Also lots of pirate, city and space police impulse sets at just over $5 after discount.
  23. Hey MicroM I spoke to Toyworld Adelaide and they didn't have a general 20% off sale there, so I think it might just be restricted to the one LT went to, Nuriootpa I believe.
  24. Well done mate, is that from Myer city? I might have to check it out.
  25. Well done on getting them to match price for you but most places expressly exclude clearance items from price matching.
