3rd Party Sensor review?
Ramacco replied to Burf2000's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think that the IRlink is still the best way to combine NXT and PF. I have used this sensore quite often and never had problems. Only, you need to keep in mind that there is a delay because it is still infrared control. -
3rd Party Sensor review?

Do it, only for the sensors that you think are worth reviewing it -
Will this MOC be at FanaBriques 2012, Guiliug?
-
There are already some pictures in his BrickShelf folder. I think that 5 euros for this creation is fair. I have created some instructions for mindsensors.com which took some time and this wasn't even a complex MOC. He and Blakbird did a very good job and put a lot of effort in this. Guiliug doesn't need those instructions for himself, he just wants to share his beautiful creation with the world. You are not obliged to buy these if you don't want too. But it is a good MOC if you start playing LEGO Technic and like mechanics. Giving instructions for free is cool, but there are people who don't use them properly by not crediting the actual builder. Spending 5 euros is not to make money, but to say: creating this took a lot of free time, hopefully you understand. No offence, you may have another opinion about this.

I have been following SeTechnic about the Loom Machine. It's very impressive how you have build a mechanical loom machine with only one XL motor. Pretty good job. I even like the color scheme! Did you learn this from your studies (Mechanical Engineering) how to build something like this? Or just from some pictures and YouTube? -

Can you deeplink your pictures? You can't see the pictures if you don't have a Google+ account. You should better use Flickr to upload your pictures -
We need more robots!
Ramacco replied to Burf2000's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I want to say that I only mentioned a few builders who I admire and like following on EB. I know that there are thousands of good builders around here! I also want that say that you don't need a NXT to build robots. A very good example is GRUMPY -
We need more robots!
Ramacco replied to Burf2000's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think every builder has his own category of building stuff. Someone like building supercars ( e g Paul 'crowkillers' Boratko) others like buidling Trial Trucks, others construction equipment. But there also are people who like building all this types of vehicle. (e g Sariel, Nico71, jorgeopesi, Efferman, Guiliug ...) Since I build mainly robots and TrTr vehicles I know that the amount of people building this stuff is very small. It's very cool to see new robot projects posted here, but I think all builders should build the things they like to build. I read almost every topic here, and every one has his own coolness. So, Burf2000, I'm currently starting a new robot project (pretty big). Stay tuned, when it is finished I will surely publish pictures right here. (robot should be finished within 8 months - Lego World Zwolle) Keep on building! -

Lego NXT Robotic Arm

Well designed and very good for your first studless build! Keep it up! -
Since I only build studless, I tried to find a studless solution for this. You told me that you had 1 stud left on the other side (I mean, not the side were the XL-motor is located). I don't own an old turntable, but used SR3D to search for a simple solution. I used a 16t gear instead of a 8t gear. Something I also had in mind was to use a 2x4 plate with 3 holes. If you brace the 2 beams with this piece, you can put the axle from the gear through this hole. Hopefully you understand what I mean.

Thanks Dluders for sharing this! I was asked to give a demo at FLL Belgium and I needed something 'spectacular' to show and animate the children/parents. I met Marc-André Bazergui (Bazmarc) and his zWall-e4 at LegoWorld Zwolle 2010 for the first time (after 2 years of skype'ing). There he gave me the challenge to improve his zWall-E4. One year later I accepted this challenge and this is the result. The children were very enthusiast about it. Too bad my Wall-e fell of the table last night. So I need to rebuild him before Saturday. Maybe I will make a movie while rebuilding him, if you want me to. Ramacco
