  1. Alasdair: I was referring to the first you've send me.I just looked on my PC and found the newer files!! (sorry, long time not been able to use my LEGO, I have forgotten a lot about what I have and not ) Thank you for those!! So I can send you the good Building Instructions, thanks to Alasdair and Freakwave.
  2. It is possible and I did this. I made BI instructions for my robot, but they didn't turn out great. If you want me to, I can send you the file. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=74118
  3. Very good site! And it looks very very good too. Must have been a lot of work and lines of code to achieve :) (I'm learning webdevelopment in my spare time ;) ) One question that I have to ask: why aren't the pictures at the front page all the same size? Looks kind of weird to me, but maybe that's done on purpose, and then I can live with that :)
  4. Haha, but you were able to start programming 1,5 week earlier! I had those software running in Beta from begin July
  5. So your program opened in the EDU version, there I can see the infrad sensor and the gyro etc. Same works for retail. Haven't installed the blocks myself (no time atm), but I'm sure you are able to program ALL sensor with the free software, but you won't be able to use datalogging (which I don't use that often) I know, but I seemed logic to me that LEGO provided this feature. Otherwise you need to install retail software if you have already the edu. (was the same with the NXT if I'm correct)
  6. @Ted: Can't you make a program for the ultrasonic sensor by installing these blocks: http://www.lego.com/en-us/mindstorms/downloads/software/ddsoftwaredownload/ And it is logic that you can open EDU programs in retail, since both have the same .ev3 extension (I have both version running as well)
  7. If your EV3 hasn't arrived yet, you can now explore the cool set through LDD!! http://ldd.lego.com/...ges/mindstorms/ (download button in the upper right corner - if you have the previous version of LDD installed, it should update automatically when you open it).
  8. You will be able to buy all the electronics parts seperatly from the shop at home pretty soon. In my opinion providing a set without parts is quite useless for LEGO to release, whereas the majority of buyers are new users which maybe don't have technic parts (or maybe it is their first set). To me it doesn't seem quite intresting.. Half the fun is to open the bags with parts and build all of the models that come with the set. But if you really only want the electronics, wait a few months and you'll be able to buy those from shop at home. Probably this solution is as expensive as buying the entire set..
  9. Love it!! Such a cute little car! The green is marvelous too! This one should be fast :p
  10. The day has come! http://www.lego.com/en-us/mindstorms/?domainredir=lego.com Download your EV3 retail software here for FREE :)
  11. Looks very promising!!! The amount of detail is still very high for such a complex model!
  12. Sorry for the double post, but regarding the firmware version from LeJOS: ' HERE
  13. That's what I'm hoping that will come in the near future! I also do not want to use linux and command line etc.. Just plug and play, as it was with NXJ. I hope that it is just a matter of time before it will be implemented..
  14. I'm also stil following BricxCC, as I enjoyed using NXC a lot! I'm also sure that it's just a matter of time before the alternative programming environments will be launched. LeJOS is already compatible with the EV3 and working very well! However, not easy to install on your own EV3 at the moment
  15. You will only be using it for uploading programs to your p-brick? I could think of much more applications than that.. However, we'll have to wait until LeJOS (what I use) or ROBOTC (what you use) is fully supported, to start writing advanced code. Can't wait for that! I'm eager to learn more JAVA. I'm a student and I only started learning programming myself 2 years ago. (first NXT_G, than NXC, now bought a MacBook and switching to JAVA and will stick to that).
  16. The adress seems to be correct: http://www.scamvoid.com/check/centoys.com
  17. So, they do have a reference.. Maybe you should send a mail to the contact email adress to ask more information.
  18. Keep them! I sold mine when I was a kid to buy technic sets.. Today I regret this since the technic pieces in those set are very useful (I did buy myself a few of those again on bricklink lately)
  19. I have found bigger ones that come in red! http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=744 Problem is that you'll need 300+ rubber per track.. :(
  20. The education set has a gyro sensor. The retail version hasn't (it got the remote instead for increased playablility for kids) http://education.lego.com/en-us/lego-education-product-database/mindstorms-ev3/45544-lego-mindstorms-education-ev3-core-set/ Very good review!
  21. To me it seem to be tese gears: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=g21 They are very cheap on bricklink. The rubber part is 0.13 cent a piece :(
  22. The modular design idea is very cool and makes it easy for competing in competitions were functionality (by using wheels) and to give demos were aesthetics is more important (by using tracks). I have a bunch of with parts myself and have a lot of those white 5x11 panels. However I don't own the curved panels in white, and that's a bummer. The 3x5 are indeed very expensive. I've 50 of those myself (or maybe even 100, not sure about that ;) ) P.S. Don't know the word either, since I'm from Belgium ;) EDIT: I don't own such a wifi dongle yet. Should buy one online soon :)
  23. Wow! That looks very great so far! Have you considered using the same tracks as Jorge? They look very capable and they are not as slippery as the tracks that come with the bulldozer. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5617949 I see that you have a great amount of red and white!! That goes very well with the EV3!
