  1. This is my knights quest entry to the CCC9. Evil does not sleep. While our knight knew this, he never thought he would experience it first hand. From his evil throne, a necromancer put a curse on the knights beloved king. Manifesting as claws emerging from he earth, the curse swallowed the king just outside his very own castle. The necromancers will was cruel. Over the next few weeks, the king slowly fell into madness. He turned on his own, accusing his knights of betrayal. His skin rotted off as fast as his anger grew. The knight was left with no other option. Even as he picked up his maul and smashed his kings dark heart, no one had more love for their king. Brickshelf
  2. Sooooooo since there are no LEGO stores anywhere near me, is it possible to have you or someone else on this forum ask them for me and then relay the answer back to me via this thread?!
  3. Seems like a lot of people are leaning this way. Makes me wonder why the castle is sold out on LEGO shop at home... I am sure LEGO has a strategy though. They are not stupid. I just wanna know what it is
  4. If LEGO does not do LOTR in 2012 (or even if they do) I hope they continue the Kingdoms theme instead of replacing it. The line has been great for minifigs, and the sets contain lots of good pieces (sets worth buying multiples of). I think it is the best castle theme in a long time, and with the introduction of a new faction in 2012 it would be a shame to see it go. I feel it has more left to accomplish.
  5. This is awesome. I love the overall look of the place. It has a nice peaceful feeling...
  6. could mean the joust set...
  7. 1. We did hear about the new Kingdoms sets in December. I even have a word document with pictures of the new sets that was created in December, so of this I am sure. 2. I understand the MVR selling out makes sense because of the sale, but why have they not restocked any of the 2010 sets? The Kingdoms line has no castle for parents to buy kids for Christmas! 3. The Mortal Combat/ninja area is currently occupied by Ninjago. 4. Could be meaningless, but combined with the other signs makes sense to me. 5. See 4. 6. See 4. 7. See 1. Yes the MMV preceded another wave of castle, but that could be meaningless. Did the fantasy theme sell out of all their sets from the previous year right before the holidays? Perhaps my logic (or lack thereof) is flawed. You do bring up some good points. No real way to end this discussion until the toy fairs I am guessing, so... cheers!
  8. I heard from more than one person there are LOTR or Hobbit sets coming, but I do not expect you to take my word for it (I would not if I were you). So as far as "signs" go... 1. No castle sets announced yet for 2012 (other than the joust). 2. LEGO shop at home is sold out of most of the kingdoms sets, and right before the holiday season. I assume they are making room for something else. 3. Did I hear mention of a video game being kept under wraps? Raises suspicions as to why they would hide it... would probably give away the new theme coming... 4. Hobbit move coming out in 2012. 5. LOTR DVDs being re released. 6. LEGO is license happy right now. 7. A similar "rumor" preceded the release of the MVR last year around this time. So no the writing is not technically on the wall yet, but it might as well be. If I am wrong then I will gladly apolo... forget it I am not wrong
  9. I also think the LOTR rumors are true. It hardly seems possible that all these signs and rumors are baseless. The minifigs are the part of the line I am most excited about. I bet the new weapons will be sick. I agree with you there. LEGO shop at home is currently sold out of MVR, and I have yet to see any kingdoms sets besides the carriage set in local stores. I bought 3 MVRs a couple weeks ago during the sale for only $120
  10. That is a long time to wait but I do not think we will be disappointed. There would not be so much action in this forum if something wasn't really about to happen Here is my guess at some potential LOTR sets: Battle of the Wizards - $10 includes Saruman and Gandalf Bag End - $20 includes Bilbo, Frodo, and Sam Road to Bree - $30 includes Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippen, nazgul on horse, and trees Fangorn Forest - $30 includes Merry, Pippen, goblin, and Treebeard Creepy Cave - $40 includes Frodo, Sam, Golem, and giant spider in cave Battle for Helms Deep - $70 includes Gimli, Aragorn, Theoden, orcs, a castle wall, and ladders I was also thinking about what TLG would do for the ring. I think the most likely thing will be to simply print it on Frodos torso. Just my 2 cents.
  11. I would say the proper time is now! I need to know how many joust sets to buy based off how the LOTR sets look Elander - I like your break down as well. Helps illustrate the point that LEGO can easily make sets from epic trilogies like LOTR (just look at SW). I think a nice addition to your list would be battle packs. Knights, orcs, dwarves, hobbits, trolls, wizards, goblins, ents even... can you imagine While I am here in potential-set-fantasy-land I would also like to see a LOTR advent. That could incorporate some of the different faces you were talking about, and would be a great way to get a lot of the key minifigures in one spot.
  12. Did not mean to start anything. I am just guessing anyways. I can see why people would rather have a continuation of the 2007 fantasy theme instead of LOTR. I do not have any flesh colors so do not know how I feel about those, but I am always for cheaper sets! Does anyone know the average price/piece ratio of licensed themes vs non licensed?
  13. LEGO may not treat it differently, but we will! The difference between LOTR and other licensed themes will be the sales. I am guessing LOTR will sell better than most licensed themes like POTC, but not as good as SW obviously. Maybe about as good as HP? Seeing what HP has done the last few years leads me to think LOTR will get 3 waves minimum.
  14. It is on sale on LEGO shop at home for $52.50
  15. Maybe... patience is not something I am good at though. Not only do I want to know if LOTR is coming, I want to see the sets and buy them all right now! How is that for patience When exactly are the toy fairs?
  16. I do not think LEGO is moving away from the medieval era. They are just tweaking it. Like how POTC replaced classic pirates, or something along those lines.
  17. I agree making smaller sets for LOTR would not be a problem. Maybe this does not mean anything, but the LEGO website is sold out of every kingdoms set released in 2010. With the holidays just around the corner, seems like terrible timing. Could mean they are making room for something else... just a thought.
  18. I do not think LOTR is 100% confirmed, more like 98% I am basing my opinion off of what has happened before for castle. For example last year there was a rumor of a windmill set with new animals which obviously was correct. Seems to me like rumors such as this end up being true... Also, the LEGO website is sold out of every kingdoms set released in 2010. With the holidays just around the corner, seems like a terrible time to run out of so many sets. Could mean they are making room for something else... I also favor the dragon knights over the lion knights. Even if they are the baddies, being bad is so much cooler sometimes.
  19. Reading through this post it seems like kingdoms is out is a proper dragon knight castle too much to ask? It does make me feel better that LOTR is coming since that will no doubt give lots of dark castle pieces which is what I really want from the dragon castle anyways.
  20. Call me gullible, but it seems like every time there is a "rumor" like this it ends up being true. Last year the castle "rumor" was of a wind mill with new animals. Obviously that was true, so I am leaning towards LOTR being true as well.
  21. There has been no official LOTR announcement. Only rumors. It is hard to guess what is next for castle, but judging from the rumors and what has happened before I like to think we will get more kingdoms sets in 2012 as well as LOTR!
  22. Since it looks like LOTR is coming maybe it would be a LOTR advent?!
  23. Love the review! The best part for me was all the great pictures that went with the text. It really helps being able to see what you are talking about. Great work!
  24. Very nice! I especially like the rocks and the waterfall. Nice job!
  25. Very cool. Love the detailing on the exterior.
