  1. I think Douglas Adam's quote about Hitchhiker's sums up Lucas' problems pretty well: "The hostory of The Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy is now so complicated that every time I tell it I contradict myself, and whenever I do get it right I'm misquoted. (...) Anything that is put down here is, as far as I'm concerned, wrong for good."
  2. I know how you feel. Where I volunteer, I'm usually very outgoing, more assertive, and generally acting as a leader (which is my job) Back to school... nope. Back to normal.
  3. Very cute. I like the open bay, and the MF is prettty cool too.
  4. Saw that last week on BS and man, it's amazing. Something about the layout doesn't seem quite right, though. I think the central circular passage isn't quite big enough, and it looks a bit like a maze with those walls.
  5. Hey, thanks guys. Quiet there, Granny Knit Knit.
  6. I think I'd actually like those movies... especially the idea of Yoda actually being banned, and the Mandalorians, for obvious reasons. It'd be nice to see them kickin' Jedi @$$. Ep. 3 is a little long, though. But hey, I'd see your movies over Lucas' if it isn't mass CGI.
  7. Well, after realizing that my old sigfig is aging (loose limbs, feet, and mild cracking), I've decided to try a new version of sigfig with the same head, albeit a torso that actually fits my screen name- Mr. Mandalorian. So, here's the WIP: This was originally a Kaminoan design, but I modded it just a bit- the yellow stripes. This was made on Paint.NET, pasted to Word, and printed on normal paper. I got really lucky on torso size, and I cut it out with scissors and glued with a gluestick. Once I get the proper supplies and researched it a bit, I'm going to make a final model. This is a first for me, so, how did I do?:-P note- it will have a head accessories, the same as my old fig:
  8. I agree with everyone else- they haven't been prepared for the sith. Most of their technique has been of deflecting blaster bolts since the sith dissapeared. I think this was partly because the clones didn't feel any malice. That's how the Jedi usually sense danger, right? Malice and hatred? The clones were just fulfilling an order. Plus, they're cool like that.( ) But I do agree that Lucas always weakens cool characters when it's time for them to die. Look what happened to the clones- as soon as they went bad, their accuracy went way off and they just stood there as Obi and Yoda attacked them. Hmm. We don't really know any younglings, but I'd venture to say that they'd be too shocked by Anakin attacking them, since they wouldn't have known what was going on. We do, since we're seeing the movie. Well, the Force is life-energy, right? Since Vader had a lot of his body replaced by machinery, he was really weakened... I think the novel version of the movie by Mattew Stover explained that better- Obi has the force, he could just crush Grevious, since when it comes down to it, he's still just a machine. But like I said, Grevious, like the others, was way weakened when it was time for him to go. It's like Lucas overpowers all of them and doesn't know how to make Obi win... I didn't notice that. I'll go check. It just annoys me that the bad guys are so cool, and they end up dying in the most pathetic manner. Maul, Jango, it goes on... and they all get dumbed down when they go up against the good guys. Now that would be a good movie.
  9. Nice! My dad's shown me pictures of when he went to Nepal 20 years ago, and this is spot-on! Especially the rickety bridge.
  10. It's been nerf'd. I'm liking the newer one, but it's looking too lengthy compared to the older one. Might just be me...
  11. There's plenty of things to happen 'till 2011, and until then, LSW could go up or it could go down. We'll just have to wait and see, and enjoy (and hoard) the sets until then.
  12. I was kind of expecting the Millenium Falcon to show up a year or so from now, or when the license ends... Also, 20 figs is an insane amount- It's one thing having 20 battle droids, but 20 minifigures is a whole new bucket of bricks. (Not to mention cost- look at the DS playset)
  13. Come on, guys! Let's go get some ice cream! ... AUUUGGHH! I'm sure the CGI won't dissapoint, but I wasn't happy with the human side of the story last time. Not exactly good for the little kiddies who went to see it.
  14. No way there's a Millenium Falcon. Sigh... Silly Wiki. The Republic Star Destroyer is more plausible, but 20 figs?!
  15. Haha, great. Poor guy...
  16. Hmm, I'm having a hard time imagining a Home One set. Lego must be more creative than me ( and they are ) but both ideas of sets sound hard. A full Home One would be next to impossible- Look at the ship, it's bumpy and long. The Star Destroyer is easy- triangular and big enough to put an interior in. The Home One, though... We don't know enough about it to put an interior into it. And the hangar plus bridge- better idea, though still not easy. The bridge and the hangar are on completely different sides of the ship. This could end up like the Hoth Battle set- Big door, vehicle, puny command station. If they went all-out and a Cloud City type set, man, that'd be pricy, not to mention huge.
  17. Earn almost nothing, hectically try to manage co-workers, and have a whole lot of fun with it. It's volunteering, but it's going to be such great job experience when I hit college. (wow, that's 2 years now?! )
  18. Yay! IA is back! Wohoo! Hey look, we're in trouble. I'd say for the time being, trust Old Crazy. Even if he is lying, nothing wrong with dawdling a bit before Lord Dragonator has you dragged to him. If he's right, this person could help- *cough* Sandra*cough*. Also, build yourself a better pegleg. I'd say you need weapons, but I don't like the other half of that plan. Besides, we don't want to go to Dragonator's place- probably no escape from there.
  19. Hmm, sounds interesting, and I'd like to learn more about outdoor photography, but unfortunetly I don't have my background or lights out of storage. Is there anyway we'd be able to simply read the lessons, or view the forum without being able to post? Oh, and where are the cheesy teambuilding excercises?
  20. I've always wanted this set and the hovercraft... too bad I never did. Great set.
  21. How is TLC going to even make a Solar Sailer? No way they'd be able to make the sail- it'd be a real challenge to get a sail to fold out, I don't think they'd be able to include the sail... At least, not the way we know it.
  22. That was annoying, like that one guy who went up, punched a battle droid, and broke his fist. Haven't they spent their whole lives training for battle? The intro at the start was pretty wierd... and then a lot of the speech seemed unneccesary or cheesy. If it was just the clones...
  23. Lego can't really do anything about it. Most of these rip-offs (I think) are in countries that don't have many laws to stop it.
  24. Save fast! Save fast! Edit: whoops. You meant the creator pirate... The only things I'm annoyed about with the new pirate ship is that it's too short, and that there's no rigging, other than plastic. The string is a pain in the @$$ to deal with, especially if you're lego's target audience, small children. The length issue can be fixed of course by adding another hull piece... but we'd have to buy another, and I don't want to buy another one that's probably going to cost 80 bucks...
  25. Well...I was hoping for a more elemental feel in the 2009 sets, and I guess I got it. Too much. Skrall: Meh. Not bad but not good, either. Gresh: Looks like the creature from the Black Lagoon. Tarix: Liking him/her. Very noble looking, even if she is too tall and has the all the old pieces... Strakk: Eesh. Looks like some kind of abominable snowman thing. Not sure about the mask- don't like the mouth, and not liking the 'ice' on him. Can anyone say megablocks? Vorox: Now this I like. Tan, stinger- but what's with his weapon? That's Hewkii's. Doesn't fit. Maium: Took me a while to figure out that this wasn't a titan. Can't tell, but he looks great. 'Matoran': Better than last year. The hands actually work on them, but I'm still not sure about hands after all this time. Tuma: This I like. Looking good. Black and green. Fero and Skirmix: I hope that the red looks off because they're prelim pix. Great set, though. Overall: I am happy that these guys are more elemental, but what are they? These can't be Toa. I saw something about "Glatoran". Are these guys gladiators? I'm not happy that these guys (Gresh, Strakk, and maybe Skrall) look like something megablocks would make, seriously. The re-use of the whatchamacallit shooters... It's nice that they're not massive like the past two and a half years, and the spikes- now that's an interesting touch. What is with Gresh? He's supposed to be air, but he looks like some mix between water and carnivorous plant.
