  1. This is awesome, i have 8257 too and i think they were the most played with models in my collection. I love the idea of boxing any car on the side away
  2. That's a nice minimalistic car, love it The back screams for nice big exhaust flames I remember building something in this style with the System Spring Wheels Holder and and Hinge Bricks.
  3. Hmkay, guess i just was hyped for such a massive Technic model
  4. Thanks for clearing that up. Do all those gears and linear actuators do anything? And do you have any more pictures of it from your trip?
  5. So i recently found out there's a giant Technic Dinosaur in the LEGO House in Billund. Not coming near Denmark any time soon i try to find information and pictures about it online, this is what i found so far: in this video from LEGO it's said that it was built in collaboration with AFOLS: In an article from promobricks one can see some of the subassemblies of the outer skin: The inner structure seems completely black, i wonder if there's a steel substructure: (taken from this article at zusammengebaut) And finally here's the highest resolution picture i could find from brothers brick: Is there anybody on the forum who has some more information about this? (Is this even the right subforum?)
  6. That's a good point i haven't thought about. Thanks for explaining!
  7. This is great. Although i'm always a bit put off by the friction fitted precision parts, clocks are my favourite type of technic model. I'm still hoping for an official model PS: have you tried using a pull-back motor as energy storage?
  8. How did you fix those Axle and Pin Connector Angled #2 ? Are they still removable from the frame?
  9. I just came back and it now works for me too. I guess there has been done some bug fixing in the meantime?
  10. Worked for me (Win7, Firefox, Adblocker). But i feel as if the time delay between submitting the vote and seeing the results was longer than i remember from past votes...
  11. Thats awesome, i really like small models and so much functionality. Incredible. May we get a belly shot? The suspension sounds interesting
  12. Jup, no Poll results for me. (With adblocker) It's great that you're not giving up on solving the problem
  13. exactly. And until now every model was already built
  14. I bought mine used on ebay. While i'd love to have only new sets i simply can't afford it otherwise
  15. Thanks for writing this nice review. After i had this book on my wish lists since November the time has now come to buy it myself
  16. Here's sariel's version (at 21:50): And Jim's version was in his review:
  17. I always used two half bushes in this place. Do they work in a similar way as you described?
  18. One example is 8466, its dampened shocks are nearly completely compressed when the doors are closed. That's to separate the two functions: 1. transferring the forces from the chassis to the tracks 2. driving the tracks. Otherwise you had all that force radially on the driving axle, giving you more and more plastic dust over time. GBC maintainers can tell you a thing or two about this.
  19. I don't think so, comparing them to the scale of the jerrycans. Spare tread links fits with the spare sprocket wheel in the back.
  20. Great review for a great set Here i'd like to chime in and say that those doors are comparable to those of 8466. While this mechanism is definitely more complex, the doors of 8466 hat the gracefulness of dampened shocks. I said it before: 42069 is this decade's 8466 with all the upgrades and improvements the technic line made to this day. I simply love it. If i've seen it correctly, there's no length compensation in the steering shaft, but there is some the lower suspension arms. I'm really interested how this influences the suspension. (I'm a bit pedantic about transferring suspension forces via moving shafts ) Do i remember correctly that there was some discussion about ride height adjustment in the 2017 speculation thread? (Not that any more features really are needed)
  21. If i'm seeing this right and there is an universal joint at either end of the red axle for steering the joints aren't oriented correctly to compensate their non-linearity. @aeh5040 made a perfect example of what i mean here:
  22. Ah, i was confused because there are only two universal joints visible on the steering axle: (upper axle in gray is drive, lower axle in red is steering) Is the CV joint then somewhere inside the axle? To be a little nitpicking, @Jim, those universal joints aren't in the right orientation
