  1. LEGO Universe "Trailer": http://kotaku.com/gaming/exclusive/the-leg...iler-271566.php It's less of a trailer, more of a series of concept animations outlining what they expect the final game to incorporate.
  2. I don't think the boxes are faked personally, I think they've either a. been enlarged from a smaller image or b. saved as a really low quality format. I hope 4937 makes it onto eBay or BrickLink soon...I gotta get me one of those!
  3. I would say he looks really aged there! Getting on a bit Mr Solo!
  4. Wicked! That Life Guard Tower and Boat is awesome for such a small set. What is this "Magic Box"? Where are these sets going to be available?
  5. Thanks, I love the look of this set! I love the mix of colours, it breaks up the model rather than being a single monotone colour. He's used several complimentary colours in order to make up the model. I agree I think the chimneys on the flat roof is weird ontop of the garage, but not so weird one you place it ontop of the building. I guess he's done it to give us the choice of roofs and chimneys. You can always remove the ones you don't like... He also seems to have screwed up a bit on the tiling for the sidewalk on the side module. On Cafe Corner (And the building module of this set) the sidewalk has the pattern light grey 1x6 at the front, then dark grey 1x2 next, then dark grey 2x2's. However on this he's put the 2x2 tiles first then the 1x2's at the back. Easilly fixable though. Overall I love this set, thanks for the pics! Compliments Cafe Corner perfectly.
  6. Here you go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blaster_%28Star_Wars%29 :-) I love Google + Wikipedia!
  7. I love Cafe Corner. I adore Market Street. And I'm working very hard to come up with a building which would sit along side them and compliment them perfectly. I love the details. I love the scale. The subdued and realistic colours. The sidewalks. Cafe Corner and Market Street is what I would call the "UCS" of town. They're not normal town, and they shouldn't be. They're for people who want more detailed, lifelike, structures. On the other hand classic town is awesome too. The primary colours grab a hold of the eye. The simple, yet effective, building techniques that even a child could utilise. Little details like a winch here, a rubbish bin there. All while retaining the charm of a toy that has long since outgrown it's target audience, and given us adults something to play with too. Oh yes, there's definitely room in my heart for both.
  8. The 16x32 baseplates are dark gray, and can be bought from the online Pick a Brick. :-)
  9. Placed an order on Shop@Home for 10190 Market Street, 7990 Cement Mixer, two brick separators, and two 16x32 dark grey baseplates. The baseplates will replace the green ones from Cafe Corner, so it fits in more with Market Street. :-)
  10. Yup, I'd consider that SNOT. Just about the whole of the sides is snot. PS: Unique, I was also caught unawares by that picture, thanks! :-/ Also found it slightly amusing though lol.
  11. I'm not sure of a bus station, but I think maybe a bus stop should be included. Just a little shelter with a sign and a couple of seats inside would do the trick. :-)
  12. Public Transport Bus This set would cost maybe
  13. I always loved the look of the Paradisa sets. They always struck me as the "proper" down...with cafes, beaches, houses, fun fairs, horses and stables, lighthouses etc. Unfortunately I never owned any of the sets. I feel it is time to rectify this. ;-)
  14. I'd go for the Garbage Truck and the Cement Mixer. The Heavy Hauler is just a monster, and has two gigantic <insert that tiresome argument> parts.
  15. Nice review hinckley! I thought I recognised your trademark use of Fabuland characters. ;-) I loved all the Market Street stuff, I really really like this set. The interview with Erik was good, and I'm really happy they dedicated the issue to him. captaintau: I've tried to download large files over dialup in the past, I feel your pain! Although I didn't think anyone still used dialup!
  16. Thanks for the picture! Is it just me or is the train on the right running along the road with no tracks? :-/ :-P
  17. Ah man, that is a shame. I didn't know his cancer was that close. Buying this set will be my honour to him. Thank you for a great set Erik!
  18. Does anyone know where I can get stackable tip-out containers like those above, or even the drawer types, online in the UK?
  19. I plan on ordering this next week, I can't wait! It definitely seems like a good deal at
  20. Yay! It's finally out! If anyone wants to play around with it before you get your copy, you can find the building instructions here http://factory.lego.com/gallery/buildingin...legofactory.com (You need LDD)

  22. I'm all for this, as a seperate set though. No sense raising the current price of sets with 9v lighting elements, rather have add on sets like they used to. I'd be all for a new type of landpost which lit up, and had a wire coming out of the bottom that would plug into a 9v power source with the standard 4 stud connector. How about flourescent lights for the ceiling of buildings?
  23. I did consider 5 wide, but as far as I know there are no 5 wide windshields? They'd have to make a new piece. And then there's the practicality problems, ie. there are no 5 long tiles, plates or bricks.
  24. I maintain that 4 wide cars are fine. If you make cars 6 wide, then trucks need to be 8 wide, and haulers need to be 10 wide which is just far too large. hinckley39: Yes, road plates fit 6 wide vehicles fine, but this isn't a reason on it's own to make cars larger. I'm fine with making buildings larger and more to scale, in fact I welcome it, however I feel that 4 wide cars are fine. They look good enough for scale, I think it's just the limitation of brick/stud design that you can't fit two people into one. I definently think a 6 wide car would be too large. Then you have to think on the effect this will have on the price of sets. I think if you were to make 6 wide cars, in order to keep the current price for a car I think you would have to make all the pieces large and <insert that tiresome argument>. Regardless, even if you were to make cars 6 wide you still can't fit two people in one! Nope, I think the 4 wide cars/6 wide trucks/8 wide haulers combination is fine. EDIT: Noooo! Don't change the minifigs! I'm completely 100% opposed to this! The minifig is iconic and realistic enough while remaining a toy. Please no!
  25. The price is set at
