Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
rob-ot5000 replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
Oh man, that Captain Marvel looks pretty sweet, though I'm not a fan of the sleepyhead hair with the masked head. Does the Mohawk hair exist in blonde at all?? EDIT: Guess I should've read the other 7 or so pages first! Lots more news! Thanks for all of that, everyone. And Aegis (reply below), thanks for that. It's a shame the blonde mohawk doesn't exist yet, but maybe we'll get it one day. Thoughts: I'm absolutely in for the Avenjet. The build is so-so, but I'll gladly take all those white parts for my Fortress of Solitude MOC, and I'm in for Capt. Marvel, Thanos and Hyperion. (If anyone is interested in Iron Man and Cap variants only, we should definitely talk, because I'm not.) There are minor quibbles, like the lack of dual-molded Hyperion legs, and the (possible/probable) lack of the Infinity Gauntlet, and yeah, CM's heads aren't perfect, but I am so excited to get these three in LEGO form and they still look fantastic! Carol's print looks awesome. I can't wait to see Hyperion up close. This whole set reminds me a lot of Darkseid Invasion: a ship that I don't really care for but with useful parts, and some awesome minifigs, though Hawkman was the only one I really cared about on that one. I'll most likely pass on the sub. No real draw, for me. Still undecided on the Racers. I'll probably pass on most of these since, for the ones I want and don't have already, better options for full figs are soon coming in many cases. Though the Spidey-GG set looks fun Can't wait for January. Between Superheroes, GB, and Creator, it's gonna be costly. Gotta love it! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion

I was wondering why this really mattered to anyone. I have never considered keeping the bags, as it seems pointless to me, but to each his own. And yes, I do agree that the purple would look nice. With so much new info in the Star Wars and Ghostbusters and Superheroes threads, I keep expecting to see something more over here, but still not a single full figure image? Wow. I agree with the poster who likened it to waiting for a new Netflix season to drop. (Jessica Jones on Nov 20! Woo!) I just want the faun speculation to end! C'moooooooon new legs! -
Pretty much this, except I don't care about the Resistance pack. I love the new FO Stormtroopers and the OT Stormtroopers, but all of these colorful troops are not for me. Stormtroopers and the like look best in black and white. Period. (IMO, obvs)

Don't worry JBricks, I saw what you did there, at least. Got a good laugh from it. 1,000 pieces, indeed. What a fortuitous set-up for that joke. As for the set itself, I quite like it, all in all. The fire escape looks amazing and I'm glad to see it. The back does look quite hideous, though when opened, it allows the column to maintain the same color scheme as the rest of the interior, so there is that, I guess. I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting, but the interior feels a bit sparse to me, though I do like it, and I love all the allusions to various scenes in the films. When it was first announced, with the price and piece count, I was immediately on-board, in my mind. Now that I've seen it, though, I'm a bit more hesitant. It kind of reminds me of what happened with the Helicarrier: I loved the idea, but the execution wasn't what I wanted. I like the GBHQ much more than the Helicarrier though, and it's still pretty high on my list, but there's some uncertainty. Currently, I don't own any set that retailed for over $200, because, as the price goes up, so do my standards and it's harder for my opinion to get from "good" to "great" to "holy !#% I can't believe that's real" for x amount of dollars. All that nagging and whining aside, I still really like it a lot and will probably get it, especially once I see it "in the brick". That and the Stay-Puft dimensions set. That minifig is GORGEOUS. -
Oh wow. Thanks for the pics, CM4Sci! As for me, I'm all over that droid escape set and the FO battlepack. Yeah, slightly disappointed at only one regular FO trooper, but the new guy looks pretty decent as well, so no worries. The droid escape looks great though! I wasn't around for the first iteration, and in fact just got my first Threepio from the TRU TFA polybag, so that's awesome. I love the silver leg printing, though I wish it were dual-molded instead. Would have looked far better, IMO. I may get the carbonite freezing chamber since I think it looks pretty cool. @General Magma - Just saw your comment above. PM me if you want me try to snag you a TFA C3PO. I've got a few of TRUs around me that usually have extras after the promo ends.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion
rob-ot5000 replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Eek. Agreed. The hairpiece is cool enough to warrant a purchase already, IMO. Anything past that is added value. I think short legs would look better than regular legs, honestly, but I hate the lack of articulation. It's infuriating, really. So much so that I'd rather the normal legs, even if I DO think the short ones are more fitting. But the double peg-leg looks horrible. If it went that route, I'd replace them. Newly sculpted legs sure would be amazing though... -

I have no love for GB2 and haven't seen it in forever. But since this set reveal, I've been reluctantly considering going back and watching it again. I wonder if it's on Netflix? I only vaguely remember the slime-through-the-pavement scene and the slime-in-a-toaster scene. I love the original GB though, so I'll definitely be getting this, especially since I love giant LEGO sets. I can't wait to see the containment unit! I echo the wallet-strain sentiments too though, since I'll also be getting the Brick Bank. Phew, January....we'll see! Now I just want, from this theoretical new theme, a terror dog (I think they're called), Dana's fridge, a Gozer minifig, and a buildable Stay-Puft. Oh well, off to Netflix! -

That is an awesome new head mold for the faun! Thanks! -
I've got two stickers that I overlooked somehow. 35 and 37, a crumbling donut and what looks like a temperature gauge. Anyone know where they go? EDIT: Oh yeah, they're from the police car. I don't intend to keep that built, so I didn't put the stickers. Duh. Please delete this topic. Thanks!

Huh. The English LEGO.com listing has the price as $499.99... EDIT: Oops, my mistake. That's for Australians. And now it won't switch back to the US. Man, S@H is terrible sometimes. -

Agreed. Not quite the response I expected, but to each his own. I think it looks awesome so far. Bring on the interior! -
Oh wow, this is great! I read this as a kid. I couldn't even go to sleep with the book in the room, at one point. I love the boat in the water. And the clown hair. And the nose. And the raincoat. And kid's nose. And- I like it all.

I promise, I believe you, but to be fair, it does say it both ways, minfig with legs and mini fig with mini legs, in each set description. So if the broken, warped English cracks your brain after the first mention of legs, you wouldn't get to the part about mini legs. Except for the Catwoman set. That one doesn't mention mini legs at all, just "mini figures with legs" three times. Again, I believe you and have believed this rumor/fact for a while, but that's what the post says. I don't really think anyone is in denial about it. We've known long enough that they SHOULDN'T be, at least. Thanks for all the information, and for your apparent eternal vigilance. (Upon rereading a few posts, okay, maybe some people are in denial still....especially in the Marvel thread)- 8,446 replies

Ha, spare uniforms. That's a solid enough idea -
Started the Scooby Doo Haunted Mansion while watching Mystery Incorporated, a surprisingly good show.

This is definitely a valid point, but with GB, it's a bit more noticeable since there will be only two products attached to the license, not counting the Dimensions "sets", whereas all the other themes have had lots of other products. As for me personally, I haven't been back in the game long enough for this to really be an issue yet, not with the sets I buy, but yeah, I definitely have plenty of Batmen. Don't suppose you'd want to trade for one of your Indiana Jonseses?? -
DC Superheroes 2016 - Rumors and Discussion
rob-ot5000 replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Fair enough. I don't have many spare legs lying around, so I would have to purchase some separately, which will definitely influence my decisions. As for Thanos, check out the Marvel thread for all the details, but off the top of my head, I believe he's in an Avengers Assemble set due out in January, the Avenjet, along with Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers), Hyperion, and some sort of Iron Man space variant. It's possible I imagined the Iron Man variant, or misinterpreted a comment, but I'm certain of the other three. Thanos is a bigfig. Again, check out the Marvel thread for all the pertinent details.- 8,446 replies

Well, once I buy this set, what am I going to do with my duplicate Ghostbusters? Draw evil-parallel-universe-goatees on them? Seriously though, I know this issue has been discussed, but it's still bothersome to me. It looks like there's no superfluous Ecto-1 (I have no love for GB2, so I don't even remember what an Ecto-1A is, even...), but what about the minifigs? It would be nice, for me, if they were all in civvies or something, in order to differentiate them from the previous versions, but it wouldn't be so nice for fans who get this set but NOT the Ecto-1. (Though, honestly, who would do that, since there's presumably no Ecto-1 in this set?) I know the Dimensions version of Venkman has arm-printing and a new hairpiece, but it doesn't seem like enough. I would actually rather the set came with NONE of the Ghostbusters and four more ghosts instead. That way the new set would truly complement the old set without this awkward, weird middle ground. (Although if this ends up being my biggest complaint, that's not too shabby. GBHQ, wooooooo!) In short... ...anyone wanna buy a set of 4 Ghostbuster minifigs?
