    I voted for grandpa. I am just fond of elder minifigures in general because the majority of the minifigure population are either youngsters or minifigures are their primes. As for the 2nd poll - if series 17 is pitted against the remaining minifigs as late as May 1, here are the complications: I don't think many will have the whole set soon (unless you buy in boxes) There will be a higher concentration of series 17 minifigures battling against other minifigures. Likewise, the odds of series 17 minifigures battling each other is also higher (which is not good) The votes for minifigures might be superficial The only advantage I see is that we'll get to rate them sooner --but on what basis, I am not sure. Purely visual, I suppose?

    I agree with your score. Of all the Brickheadz, this is the only one that interests me. Great hair shape and I like the hair colour, too.

    Am I the only one glad that the Star Wars Celebration exclusive is not very special? I know that many box collectors will be happy to get one but those who are far from the US, as well as the large majority who can't go to the event, can at least rebrick that set easily.

    The Cheerleader has not been in any elimination round yet so there is still hope. Save the cheerleader, save the game! I'm not upset that Series 1 had lost many candidates already. It only shows that over time LEGO had improved the design of the CMF and steadily kept the interest of the market high that even the CMF newcomers will not feel left out for not having the older series. That being said, long live the King!

    This is interesting. On one end, a minifigure so primitive he does not even shave. On another hand, a minifigure so royal he will not shave a regal beard.

    I understand this completely. I might have voted the Cavemen if I have the minifigure... but at the moment I have no emotional connection with the Cavemen.

    I think the hype machine is working somehow even though it is generating more confusion than interest... even if we have no idea what kind of marketing TLG is planning to run with a very common minifigure, I still don't buy this gimmick.

    I started predicting what you guys are going to vote... and I can sense this is a straight win for Frightening Knight! I'm voting for the Frightening Knight too.

    You're right. Pricing is one of the more complicated things to monitor and even analyse unless you have insider info. I used to work for a fast moving goods company as a consultant. Saying that price determination is as simple as looking at the size, mass, colour or any attributes simply just won't give the whole picture why LEGO sets are priced like that. Even simple factors like local holidays, current supplier pricing, packaging, freight costs and even promotional exclusives (freebies) can affect the margin of the product -- this can cause an upswing to localised prices. Australia is not the worse market to use an example. I'm not saying this to gain sympathy from "those who got it worse" but that is just the reality when products are available globally. There are some macroeconomics fundamentals playing as well. For example, the Malaysian Ringgit currency had been devalued a little bit after the global oil price index declined -- now the local pricing are slightly higher than usual (as much as 20% higher). Some would say it's catching up on Singapore's local pricing but I decline to comment about that. All other factors more familiar to the consumers are always easier to blame, including price per piece. I don't conform to "limited availability" so I don't get the mentality some collectors employ when buying sets on day 1.... The market will adjust to demand and supply -- if no one buys UCS sets they will be discounted soon one way or another. That already happened many times and it will happen again and again.

    Great review! I agree with most of your points. This set is the "main ingredient" of my Cantina MOC. One full set and 2 parted-out sets without minifigs and the Dewbacks. I wish bought 1 more complete set for the Dewbacks. That being said, I really enjoyed this set because of Bith musicians and all the tan and dark tan parts included. As for the Dewbacks, I hope they will re-appear in a new set soon.

    Are you referring to half cylinder parts? There are varying sizes. Many MOCers use them to make airships float.
