  1. The steering angle on the real Xerion is also small. That's why Claas payed for a round of 4-wheel steering I started with a center mechanism but it was not strong enough so I decided to use 2 servos
  2. What about the profile on the tyres...when I built mine we had a discussion which direction the profile should be Edit: looks right on the box, but not on the model
  3. The only suspension I know of is under the seat
  4. I certainly will bis it, too! I agree with the cabin, turn before lifting is not so authentic. It is good to know the creators had a hard time findong space for the functions... JB -------------------------
  5. The first Version is now running smooth. The steering works fine and the pneumatische is also doing its job. Howerver In decided to look for more space and I started to work on the front axle: This way I can make the frame stiffer and it will be more like the real one (no portal axles). The reduction is now right at the motor.
  6. I fully understand! I bet every Xerion builder has the same problems, even thought it looks big there is not much room for Motors, cabin lifting etc. I am building a Xerion in the scale of 1:16 and struggling with space. I am impressed of all XERION Lego models I have seen so far. It challenges to find smart solutions like we do find in this model.
  7. Worked on the 3-pont hitch...works well now: Here the nice 'butt' https://flic.kr/p/CfyeGX ...and the Xerion with red rims, cabin with seat, steering wheel & controls:
  8. Maybe they should come up with something that was launched in 1977...
  9. ...I'm making progress... Cabin:
  10. Hi all! Pumped up the air tank with the manual pump...worked good! Think I need to work on the pump..maybe a double pump?
  11. Hi! Worked on the three point hitch and used long cyliders. I fear that it won't lift that much...any suggestions? Like to stick with an air powered hitch since there is not that much space for a mecanical solution. Regards Jörg
  12. Happy New Year! Put some color on my socks.... https://flic.kr/p/BNtZfA
  13. I am a fan in 1:16 scale models...and afraid Lego won't come up with it
  14. Just saw the new Claas brochure. The exhaust pipe has been relocated. Shifted from the front to a small exit pipe in the middle. Curious whether Lego Code up with this or with the old model... Hopefully with big wheels...
  15. So the Xerion will be more likley the same size as the 9393 tractor?
  16. Does anyone know whether the Xerion will be the top 2h model?
  17. Yep! I was hoping it would be OK. Wasn't that much money because they we're on sale... and I can return them. ...and the search continues...
  18. Tyres arrived :-) ..... They do fit on the power puller rim :-) ....They do not look good :-( ...Diameter is too small...by approx. 5-6 mm :-((( https://flic.kr/p/ARTFCu https://flic.kr/p/AmCzXZ
  19. Currently I got these on the power puller rims: http://tamico.de/Gma...Reifen-22-2-Stk The width is what cause some trouble: https://flic.kr/p/yGXA6L Here a picture where the tyre is clamped between the edges: https://flic.kr/p/yNqmTV This works fine wth steering and speeding but doesn't look that good.
  20. Thanks! I hoped they would not count the spikes. 121 might be a bit too small. The width of 58 is fine. The 2.2 (56mm) is the same I do have on my Bighorns, so they will fit on the power puller rim... Let's see how they will look like.
  21. They are 1mm smaller in diameter and the width is 56mm. So should be good.
  22. Stumbled over these: http://tamico.de/Tamiya-Reifen-Spike-Monster-2-Stk-50374 Look more like tractor, don't they?
  23. ...checked out the tyres and found out they are to big in diameter..current ones I use are around 131mm,,, ...going to 151mm tyres would mean to relocate fenders which would be out of scale... original tyres on the Xerion are around 2100mm (scale of 1:16 => 131mm) Still on the search for tractor tyres with an outer diameter of 131mm....
  24. ...forgot to mention another feature: the front swing axle https://flic.kr/p/yKkJPb
  25. @JBrost On the inside the tyre fits perfectly on the rim, on the outer side it is clamped behind the rim flange. It does not look that good. It is possible to glue the tyre to the rim. Whether I will do that depends on my decision: cover or paint. Tyres are GMade Bighorns...exact the same width as the PP rim. @GroundskeeperWillie Thanks! I like you design, too. Lots of functions within a small space...respect! I will be in America shortly and I think I will get the tractor tyres....that will be aaaaawesome pic:
