  1. Does anyone have Mike Psiaki's X-Wing built in LDD? I have been having a lot of trouble wit some of the connections... I would like to build an updated parts list and set of instructions.
  2. Question for the crowd: Everyone offsets the aft part of the engines on the x-wing MOCs, but the actual offset (based on reference pictures) is very small. To me the engines look better centered in Lego. Any I the only one?
  3. Personally I want all the detail... My UCS Slave I is the only set I have on display here at home that is for the most part out of the box. Everything else is a MOC or heavily modified from TLG set. I want to see TLG push their boundaries when it comes to parts and building techniques. The original X-wing was a lot cheaper... it also looked like crap. Now, I am an adult. When it comes to kids, I get it, its another story. Oh you want to buy your 7 year old nephew the new x-wing set for his birthday and you get to the store and are like, "Err....hmm... how about a battle pack and a speeder?"
  4. The lego engine's diameter is a little big and shorter/steeper nose cones would be nice, but these proportions are a little better. LXF above is updated. N1-engines by James Eilers, on Flickr Thoughts? N1-tail by James Eilers, on Flickr
  5. Can't wait to explore the model and get this bad boy built.
  6. Link is fixed! Thanks for pointing that out. I completely agree with you about the engines. Originally I had them larger but I have had trouble with the internals and keeping them sturdy and connected well enough.
  7. Here is N-1 I have been working on. It is based originally on Mike Psiaki's and then scott34567's model he did also based on Mike's. I removed the laser canons on the front since they are hidden on the N-1 except for the small exit hole. I also fleshed out the bottom of the hull based on pictures from the set pieces from the movie. I also did a lot of internal work to strengthen optimize and strengthen the model. Any feedback or suggestions would be great. I'm working on building in bricks right now. I just snagged the newest Lego version (75092) off of craigslist for $15 so I'm just getting my Bricklink order together for the extra pieces I need. 8. I'd love to see a list of builds as well as pieces (Fell Beast from Lotr) that are exclusive to the video games
  9. I finally got some of my Star Wars LEGO photography up: https://www.flickr.com/photos/jameseilers/ x-wing-4 by James Eilers, on Flickr slave-1-1 by James Eilers, on Flickr desert-skiff by James Eilers, on Flickr
  10. Me three! I built an actual model but have been working the LDD file for a while and have not been able to make some of the connections. I would like to build a new set of instructions.
  11. This is the best mod I have seen so far. Great work. Any chance we could get some breakdown pictures of how you modified the wings and the wing split mechanism?
  12. Has anyone started working on new (or updated) x-wing MOCs with the new x-wing canopy? I'm currently separated from my collection and stores that sell Lego... But I'm planning on modifying my Psiaki x-wing to use the new canopy piece. I would also like to start working on a Episode VII x-wing model based mike's original x-wing. Side note: Does anyone have an LDD model of Mike Psiaki's x-wing model? I've tried to complete the model in LDD but have run into a few roadblocks with some of the illegal connections and various connections that LDD just struggles with.
  13. Best Sparrow design I've seen so far! Just recreated it in LDD, with just a few minor changes.
