Great review. I will definitely have to pick up this set if I see it. I like the new life jackets a lot, the design is great except for the neck issue. I really dislike the original/classic lifejackets because they are so bulky.

Thanks everyone. The gun itself was originally red. First, I put a white basecoat on all the parts I wanted to paint. I mixed my own paint for the metal from a "metallic silver" and "ebony black" of the Micheal's craft's brand Americana (acrylic paint). For the lines I mixed "primary red" and "ebony black" (and diluted quite a bit).

This was a little project for a Brickwarriors forum contest. It was my very first time painting minifigure gear and I learned a lot from the experience. I thought I'd share with MCW folks here on EB in case you guys have an tips for next time. Normally I'm a purist minifig customizer (occasionally adding a 3rd party weapon/gear), but I did enjoy making these and might be trying my hand again soon. [on Flickr] ----- Do you really think Santa Claus is married? No. He works too much and eats too many cookies. His top security guard is code name "Mrs.Claus" and she is good at her job. With her associate security elves taking the rear guard positions, Santa is safe from all Scrooges another year.

I mean that it's a whole world with huge backstory/stories to go with it for grabbing a new/budding audience. I'm NOT saying (at all) that boys can't like Friends and girls can't like Ninjago. That would be rediculous. It's about a business decision and going after a market and hitting that market squarely in the face, it is a great move (Friends for girls, Ninjago for boys) that is bringing (or going to bring) new fans into the LEGO world as a whole.
