I love this set. I've wanted this one since the first leak pictures. Maybe it's because it reminds me of the treehouse I had/built as a child. Excellent review, I love looking through the pictures over and over.

Ok Good to know in any case. The way I've seen it done/done it myself while hosting table-top RPG games is that the players can gain experience for defeating the obstacle (usually a monster). It doesn't matter how they defeat it, but moving past it in some way would gain some experience. For example, if the obstacle is guard and the players sneak the key from him instead of defeating him in battle...in my game the players would still get the experience as they would have in battle because they have succeeded getting past that obstacle and onto the next phase of the quest. The major difference being that if you defeat a creature in battle it usually drops some loot which of course you don't get if you sneak past it. Just an idea.

This is really great. I like the tree and the furniture, overall design is very nice. Minifigs are super (not representing my character but perhaps yours).

I've been using the tips from thebrickblogger for a while. I find the soldering iron technique perfect for keychains. Safe, quick, and easy. The hot water bath method works great for magnets. Getting the torso away from the hips usually doesn't work but getting the fig off the base works perfectly every time for me.

["I agree. Let's get away from our rope though, maybe we can sneak to the other wall so that the guards don't spot our escape route and cut it down."] Cinna starts carefully, slowly, sneaking down the wall until she gets to the corner and then waits at the next wall for the rest of her team.

Is hack&slash the only way to gain experience?

I find boxes and minifigure bags open on the shelves of Walmart sometimes. I take them to customer service or to a nearby worker. I assume they tape them up and put it back on the shelf unless it's empty. :(

I love the rose design, I have not seen one like this before and it's a nice change from the closed roses. The addition of some dropped petals is great, but I'm not sold on the base. It seems big and bulky/unrefined compared to the rose itself. Was that the intention?

Not in the set's I've built. They all have the xN at the end of the small model. Here's another thing I hate: When S@H shows an item as available and an hour after I order, while it's still showing as available on the website, they email me to say the shipping is delayed and the item is back-ordered. Then the next day they send me an email saying that portion of the order was cancelled.

["Do you think you could convince the unicorn to come with us peacefully? We must get him out now I think, tomorrow morning they will see Hoptet is gone and probably beef up security."]

That's really interesting. From the text it seems like it was translated from another language, that's the feel I get anyway. I was wondering what the tile had on it, so thank you for posting this.

After quietly sneaking back to the group... "Thothwick, do you think you could pickpocket that guard for his key? If not, we are going to have to attack him."

This looks great. I can see myself buying quite a few of these battle packs. I love those rebels.

Yes, it would be much better if the beginning of the little build would state x2 (etc) so that we can just build them all at once instead of finding out when we get to the end. I'm getting better at knowing this (by knowing the end model and thinking ahead), but it's still frustrating if I forget and find out at the end of the small build.

"Yes, that cape would be most helpful here. My biggest concern is that if we fight the guard we may not be able to get back in later to kill the unicorn. Though the same issue may arise if we break out the prisoner and escape without a fight - we are going to have to get the unicorn out at the same time and possibly tie him up somewhere." Cinna shudders when she mentions killing the unicorn, even though she knows feeding him the Last Wish Powder and killing him is the only way to get the horn we need.

Great job everyone who built. The skills of the guild are just wonderful and I'm very excited to see what we all have in store for the next round. I'm already planning my embassy too!
