Mitgardia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Darkdragon replied to Sirens-of-Titan's topic in Guilds of Historica
As requested, I've posted a comments thread for my Rocher Research. -
Wolftracks Company has successfully secured the mystical Rochers and brought them to the client, Society of Science and Sorcery. Deep underground in the Mitgardian mountains, the Society researches artifacts trying to find out how thier power can be harnessed to help Mitgardia. Captain Michael is accepting finally payment from Sowain, the leader of the Society, and showing him where on the map of Kaliphlin he gathered information and Rochers. It has taken the power of demons to break open the shells of these mighty Rochers, but the Society will find the secrets hidden inside. Since we don't have the actual ancient crystals for each guild, we had to fabricate our own. It took many years, but we finally managed to get four gems that work correctly most of the time. The color is a little off, and they are a little bit unpredictable on stormy nights, but we won't let small things like rogue demons stop us from our scientific pursuits. (Remember to vote when the time comes)

I don't know if it deserves it's own topic. If you guys think so, then I'll do some more photos and create a topic for it. -

I agree with what is being said here. Personally, I love building for the photo (I know my quest sets so far have not been very interesting, sorry bout that). The mental switch from "hey look how great I am at building, here is a photo that shows all my skill and every corner of the moc" to "here is what is happening in the scene" can be tough to trigger. Once a builder is able to make the switch, I think mocs created to tell a story and photographed in that way are much more interesting. I hope that all Heroica hosts will at least take this skill away and think about using it in other projects. To me, it is a lot of fun to build unrestricted for the purpose of a story and not have to worry as much about being the biggest but concentrating more on building toward a photo scene. Well, that is a lot more difficult to try and explain then I thought it would be when I began typing. Sorry if I am not making myself clear.

Heroica RPG - Quest #27: Badger Badger Badger
Darkdragon replied to Darkdragon's topic in The Heroica Archive
Maurice sneaks down the hall suddenly much quieter. He heads to the crate and tries to lift the lid. To his surprise, the lid lifts easily. A rock that was on top of it falls off the lid when he lifts it. He tries to catch the rock but seeing as he is holding the torch and the lid, he has no way to catch it and it drops behind the crate, hitting the wall and sending echoes down the hallway. "Cleric, what's going on?" Tesni yells down the hall. "Nothing, I'm headed back." Maurice calls back. Checking to make sure nobody is coming, Maurice gently lifts the lid off the crate and sets it down on the stone floor. He peers inside with the torch held high. Inside the crate is a bloodied bag of (100) gold, a Holy Bomb, and a Grand Potion. What will Maurice do now? -

Darkdragon replied to Darkdragon's topic in The Heroica Archive
Tesni pulls out the Timekeeper and the tablet top shimmers for a moment before displaying the numbers: 21:30 Heading back to the wall with the symbol, the team takes the path to the East. The path turns North, then South, then East again. They head East for quite a while and come to another junction. There are two symbols on two walls. The wall to the West: The wall to the North: What will the heroes do? -

Maurice once again leaves the party to check out the new Southern path. He doesn't get very far before he can easily see tiny eyes glinting in the firelight at the end of the hall. It looks like the path ends quickly South but then turns East. Without venturing farther toward the creatures, he is unable to see what lies beyond the Eastward bend. Thinking of his safety, Maurice heads back to let the others know what he found. -
Heroica RPG - Quest #27: Badger Badger Badger

The intrepid heroes head West down the long dark hallway. After a half hour of walking, they come to a wall. There are no other exits from the hall and they are forced to go back to the previous junction. They are now faced with a choice of South down the new path or South to the previous junction (the wall with symbol). -

Maurice leaves the party and heads a little way down the passage to the West. Without any of the noisy party members, he hears only the crackle of the torch fire and his own quiet cleric footsteps. A mouse skitters by him and runs into the darkness beyond. The hallway seems to continue on and on in a straight line headed West. After a few minutes of walking with no change, he decides to head back and report his findings to the others. -

They head East and soon come to another dead end. There is an opening to the North which leads to another junction heading West and South. Will you go West, South, or back? -

The party heads North. The path is straight but ends soon at a wall, though there are two paths veering off. The heroes can choose to turn West or East or go back (South). -

So far it looks like they have not woken any thieves while breaking through this gate. Raiju whacks at the gate, sending bolts of lightening through the bars, followed up by Namyrra's well aimed lightning spell. Eric decides to attack the lock, thinking that it might be the thing holding the gate shut. He manages a nice solid hit but the lock still holds tightly. Lego Technic Figures
Darkdragon replied to BasOne's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I love the Technic figures. All the posability is just great. I do wish there were at least one female though. Sounds like you would like the Belville figures (very well proportioned and very posable) and maybe even the Friends minidolls. -
I think it looks great, would love to see the finished real figure. I think superman's hair in dark brown would look great - will you be painting it or what? That's how Matt Smith's eyes look though, they are set far back.

Here's my second attempt at a "Grey". I think this one worked out well and there was no cutting or gluing! The legs are hard to get ahold of though, that's the only bad thing - and I don't think droid legs would look good at all. I will be replacing the silver clip for a LBG clip when I get home (have to open a set to fish it out). I'll be replacing one of the arms with the turned version (90 degree) as soon as i get a copy of the set that has it C&C Welcome. Gun Beats Sword Just to show that it has a lot of articulation.
