  1. Well at least that tells us it isn't 100% identical I assume it's an old picture from back when the original came out and was on display in a store.
  2. How can you even make out a TIE Fighter in that picture?
  3. I would have expected cheese slopes to help get a smoother look to the sphere. They also haven't mentioned that he is chromed.
  4. That picture just looks like the superlaser doesn't have the ring around the emitter on the original. Comparing it to pictures of the original the remaining structure appears to be identical. I feel like this is almost entirely an issue of timing. If they re-released the older modulars now I am sure it would be met with a lot more positivity. The main reason people are annoyed seems to be because an updated version comes so soon after the original retired.
  5. Apparently the droid is also seen near the lift they use to take Chewie down to the holding cells, so it does make sense to be included. They're called RA-7 Protocol Droids.
  6. I'd imagine in slightly different builds of some areas and structural strength.
  7. I was expecting something similar, but not that close to the original! Seems like it's the Winter Village Toy Shop again.
  8. Does this mean there's a chance we'll be seeing it soon too? Would you say it's good for those of us who never got the last iteration?
  9. I could definitely go for that. It has an interesting shape to the structure, but isn't an inconvenient shape like an actual inverted corner would be. It would definitely help breakup the street and give a more varied look to a layout.
  10. There's a lot of negativity about this. I'm not sure what everyone was expecting it to be. To me, for the price, it was always going to be a series of dioramas like the last one. If it was merely the outer structure then I don't see how the piece count could be so high. The Death Star II makes sense as it has a lot of exposed structure from the incomplete appearance, but just a sphere would have been fairly boring. I was always tempted by the original, but didn't get it due to space limitations and the cost, plus little things like the should length hair piece used for Luke bugged me. I'll definitely consider this one.
  11. They generally don't. Sets like these that sell well will remain at full price until they retire. At that point they just disappear. You may have luck with other retailers, but not with Lego.
  12. Wasn't the rumour specifically a set with Yoda and R2-D2, and the assumption was made that it was Yoda's Hut? The minifigure part was correct.
  13. It sounds more like something made up to mock the last Hoth set. Plus if they'd delayed it they wouldn't have the time to design and release another set to take its place, they would just delay the set and release it later. If it was possible to design and release an additional set they could just release the Death Star.
  14. Why do so few stores in America and Canada care about release dates? We never see stuff early in Europe. I'm sure there will be an official Lego announcement/reveal before then so we can officially see these pictures.
  15. I hadn't thought of that, but I'm not sure that would be reason enough for Lego not to do it - do they care about people who use the road plates? Another reason to hope this rumour isn't the case.
  16. What evidence do you have for that? In the past sets have been announced with no leaks at all. A set due out in October, with a September VIP release may not be announced until the very end of August.
  17. That's exactly what I was imagining. I think it's a terrible idea. It won't easily connect to what already exists, and if people have it displayed on a linear shelf you can only join it at one end, since the 16x32 part can't be swapped. It forces it to be the end building, limiting the variety you can get in displays, and also limits the amount of facade at the front.
  18. There's a discussion about these in the 2016 topic, since they'll be out before the end of the year.
  19. Looking at the pictures, I wonder if the side panels, or even the font panel, can fold away. Perhaps in a similar way to the side of the Shuttle Tydirium set.
  20. As I said, the colours don't work for traditional City, otherwise I'd be happy to (excluding the dolls)
  21. I think it's in scale with regard to height, but I agree about the leg thickness. This could be to help with stability, or perhaps a slightly different design in RO (probably the stability thing though)
  22. Her actual costume is just plain black trousers and plain black boots. The only additional detail is a holster, but since the minifigure is designed to wear that poncho piece it isn't really visible.
  23. Tbh I'm bored of vehicles. I'd like to see more buildings. Friends gets loads of different buildings, but City is always just a police station, a bad guys' hideout and a bunch of cars, trucks and boats. It wouldn't be as bad if the Friends stuff was in standard colours, but purples and pinks don't fit in with City. Where are the shops, cafes, restaurants. I know there are some creator sets, but not nearly as many compared to the number of speed boats and police helicopters.
  24. The prices were given in the original link. I can't remember them all, but: Shuttle - 100 Euros AT-ST - 50 Euros Edit: Once again we get ridiculous pricing in the UK! $30 -> £35, but $90 -> £80. What algorithm do Lego use for their conversions?
