  1. I'm sure it was, but it surely wasn't anything I was interested in as a Castle fan.
  2. That's great, but from the sounds of it you made a choice to deviate from the backstory. Back in time, there wasn't really a backstory to deviate from. I personally prefer that unadulterated way of seeing things.
  3. It would probably turn out like that Angry Birds castle set. As in, not worth it.
  4. My experience was similar to amechanicalmind. My brothers and I made it up as we went. But we didn't even know the names of the factions. To us it was just the Lions, the Dragons, the Hawks, the Wolves, and the Deer (though we did call them Forestmen). It wasn't so much about good vs evil, so much as protagonist vs antagonist. Dragons were my protagonists, Hawks were my brother's, led by a knight from the classic yellow Castle set that he got through a trade with a friend. Lions were plentiful and made good antagonists for everyone. Forestmen were like hunstsmen, allied more with the peasant villagers than any specific faction. Wolves were on the side of my Dragons. I really enjoyed the open-ended play back then, and I agree it was nice not to be forced into more specific choices based on a lot of lore and detail. The fact that there weren't many such details around (in my memory) meant that I was always free to decide for myself. This made it easier to integrate minfigures from other themes, including Town, Paradisa, a Space knights faction, Pirates, and their antagonist Red / Blue Coat sailor enemies. It all fit into my lore because I never really knew what the lore was supposed to be, although one could argue that even if I did know, I wouldn't have paid it much attention anyways...
  5. That looks remarkably good. I agree with the above poster who said try to use the same hips.
  6. I'd also like to see the x105 visor in light and dark pearl greys.
  7. The goat. Recolored into another real goat. Maybe grey.
  8. I saw Endgame. I wasn't impressed.
  9. Bummer, missed opportunity, but I get that they are going all out with this branding for the City Space stuff. Yeah, I guess so, but still weird.
  10. Harry Potter is the best thing for Castle right now. Really wish we could get this level of detail and attention in an in-house theme, but I'm at a point where I prefer fleshies so this is sort of better.
  11. I like the carriage and graveyard set, though the graveyard offers me the least.
  12. I hope that LEGO would do a better job that these, personally. I want something more versatile.
  13. I can do without the hair, but the musical instruments have me actually interested. Let's hope you're right.
  14. Trolls World Tour, probably.
  15. The two things are independent. You can be a fan of Nexo Knights and be a fan of Castle. But being a fan of Nexo Knights does not make you a fan of Castle. That can be tedious. About Disney and Star Wars, yeah, that's going to keep going on forever. I just hope that these announced release dates are in reference to the Benioff and Weiss movies, not Rian Johnson's.
  16. The upcoming Stranger Things set will have a Demogorgon minfigure, which could work its way into Castle builds quite nicely.
  17. I don't understand why everyone is so surprised by this set. Is it really that hard to believe? The minifigures look fantastic, and the selection sounds great. Looking forward to checking it out, but it's on the expensive side. It's as if LEGO thinks adults will only buy sets with 2000+ pieces.
  18. Absolutely hoping that this comes sooner rather than later. I'd love to see Forestmen riding deer. That's a really nice variety of sea life. I'm looking forward to it.
  19. It's really weird that he has an alien head on a stick, but I'm not complaining about getting that piece.
