  1. Similarly, there are often false walls (I can think of one in the Pirates Soldiers Fort and one in the LOTR Black Gate) that don't detract from the appearance, and these are usually easy to mod if one was so inclined. These are the types of play features I don't mind. Nexo Knights is full of ridiculous play features that do detract form the appearance (the Robo Horse comes to mind). I can see what you're saying about Star Wars, as well. The play features in those sets often take away from the model significantly.
  2. Of those choices, I'd choose 3. Closest to an actual dragon.
  3. I also heard he may be a golem-styled character or bigfig a few pages back, but I'm not sure if that's confirmed.
  4. Fair enough. I think many builds would be better off in galleries as opposed to Ideas, though. It seems people have been using it, improperly, as a gallery. Where do the minifigures sit?
  5. not?
  6. I'd say there's a strong possibility. It would be better than a fabric skirt.
  7. I love the CN Tower build! That building has significance in my life, so it's nice to see it well represented.
  8. From what I understand, Jestro will not appear as a minifigure (or at least he will be significantly different) in the Volcano Base set.
  9. That's really the main thing that bothers me, as well.
  10. This is astounding. I love huge builds like this one. There is so much to see, so may details. I love the raised areas with the archers, and all of the various plants. I also love that there are a variety of animal mounts featured, including a tauntaun. Great job!
  11. The Evil Mobile, in my opinion, looks ridiculous. I'm not big on the golems, or the overdone jester motif, or the chomping mechanism. If these things (and the abundance of trans orange) don't bother you, there's a chance you might enjoy it. For what it's worth, I do think that this set has 2 of the best minifigures in the theme. That said, I don't think the set is worth the price.
  12. Projects are supposed to be created by people older than 13. Unfortunately, some of the poor projects can't be immediately attributed to children under 13, although they certainly seem to be. These projects don't get removed and create clutter.
  13. Nice build, I like the trees. I also like the usage of the (in my opinion, otherwise useless) Nexo Knights shield. Didn't think of that. As always, Wolfpack builds interest me greatly. Good job!
  14. , yes.
  15. failed.
  16. I can't believe I missed it either. They are so much like the same person.
  17. I completely agree. As a child of the 80's myself, I can definitely say that there was a wealth of video games and cartoons to keep me distracted all the time. I wouldn't say that there are many more distractions now than there were back then. And yet I, too had a healthy imagination. Sometimes, a little too healthy if you were to ask my parents and teachers. I don't think that play features are as important as others do. In fact, I often find that they detract from an otherwise nice and sturdy build. Not to say I don't like them at all, there are play features I have enjoyed. But I also don't think that they are necessary.
  18. They are indeed using the same DCPI. All CMF series use the same DCPI. I haven't found anything using that UPC either. It was taken from a picture of the back of the series 15 minifigure package, though, so it's good. I managed to find a box of series 15 at Target today, and got a bunch. I had to ask an associate to get the box from the stock room, giving her the DCPI.
  19. bowl.
  20. around
  21. Thanks guys. You've just helped me make my decision not to buy the King's Mech. That was one I had been considering.
  22. Well, I suppose that's a nice change. At least it's giving her more depth. Anyways, this is a lot of talk about what is, to me, an inconsequential character. I'd love to hear more of the list. I'm still hoping to hear that either Aladdin or Jasmine will be in the series.
  23. I hope that we get some books that don't have transparent covers.
  24. To be honest, I've purchased a couple of Elves sets, a couple of Princesses sets, and a few of the Friends animal sets (which, thankfully, do not feature minidolls). I have given the detestable minidolls to my nieces, who appreciate them. I've given the hair from the Elves to my girlfriend, who likes the elf-eared look much more than I do. The other hair, I've kept for myself. That said, I do think it's fair to avoid sets that have features that act as deterrents, as the minidolls do for me. While I may have purchased a few sets here and there, they are mostly small and have other elements that appeal to me enough to be worth the price. I struggle with the idea of buying any of the larger sets, though. If the minidolls were not there, as I said, I would be purchasing far more of the sets (as they would presumably contain minifigures in their place, which appeal to me greatly).
