Review: 2509 Earth Dragon Defense
horizon replied to SpyFlops's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
28 euro isn't too bad for it. -
That's really good.
-
ehm... the first lego minifig face had a smile, they still do. Did that stop imagination?

It would be nice if it was a Dino-friendly theme. Nothing of this moronic hunting & trapping. More like Dinosaur the movie. Like duplo had the dino's all smiling and friendly :)

Review: 2509 Earth Dragon Defense
horizon replied to SpyFlops's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
hmm, I believed the dragon to be more closed. The tail is not such a problem but that the back is broken up like that. hmm... -
So far, under heavy duty only one skeleton hand clipped. It is one of the common spare parts, so Lego does know it can be a weakpoint.

REVIEW: 2507 Ninjago FIRE TEMPLE
horizon replied to pikafunk's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Hi, the kids bought this set yesterday and I must say I am impressed. The dragon is awesome, the temple itself a really good design with lots of nice details. The building procedure pretty good as well. Managed to pick it up for 103,99 euro (internet store). Quite a difference with the major toy stores in the netherlands where they sell it for 129,99 euro! -
Lord Garmadon should not go to the good side. Lloyd is a wip name. They'll rename him. Guess the main thing will be the airship. I do like the Ninjago theme, but the 2012 direction seems iffy. Ah well, could save me money for my kids. :)

Urghing, those new set ideas. They are really going for the kid-action-orientated-cartoon image for Ninjago. I liked the playability and fun of the spinjitzu game, I liked the first waves minus some things. The 9446 sounds most promising. I think it is the floating boat.
-
Five snake staffs = good. Garmadon story = bad. Potential = good. Floating boats are awesome. Pity. booster packs = bad some ideas good (cards with all elements) others bad (technic pins) Total crap. Blech. Ugh I hope this is pre-concept and not final. ... lol Ah well, it is going to save me money. :) Kids are saving money for the fire temple and I am intending to buy them the lightning dragon as a surprise. Earth dragon will be a present from someone I guess. So they'll have the original series almost complete.

REVIEW: 2254 Mountain Shrine
horizon replied to Velika314's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
This set is just a spinner with extra's. But that's cool. A normal spinner costs about 9 dollar. For 10 more you get a shrine with it. The problem is that this set and the blacksmith set have Kai (regular and dx). This shrine has the pro of the firesword and the dx version of Kai. So no Fire Temple needed to get those. The blacksmith would've been cooler with Kai in his blacksmith outfit (as in movie), to have something special on it. So in the end this shrine is much more interesting then the blacksmith shop. And the kids have about 6 spinners so they can play with this one as well. heh -
Great build. Black Falcon's always work. Guess I need to make pics of the combo I made from old leo castle and the first bf castle...
-
Watchmen!! That'd be cool.

REVIEW: 2507 Ninjago FIRE TEMPLE
horizon replied to pikafunk's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Impressive set. minifig selection is weird. Garmaddon and Zane should not be in it. Too many Garmaddaons (this, his old fort, the new truck and a spinner). The prize is very steep. lightning dragon seems a better choice for money I feel (pity it has wu again. :/). -
REVIEW: 2260 Ice Dragon Attack

Hi, I think LEGO should do a girl theme with the normal minifigs. Easy as that. Girls like that. Swapable hair pieces, different legs etc etc all cool. Lego is daft for not doing that regarding a girl theme. For the one who said it: chinese plastic is not worse then other lego plastic. They have better hair/hood fit anyway. My daughter (just 7) favourite sets are the Ninjago Turbo Shredder and Dojo. Her fave minifigs Nya and a a girly minifig from early nineties (iirc). There was a horse thing back them. My sister had it. With minifigs.

REVIEW: 2519 Ninjago SKELETON BOWLING
horizon replied to pikafunk's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Hey, the Ninja is called Jay. Not Zane (he is the white one). -
Thanks. :) Yup, and daughter. Thing has now interior as well. I'll try to update the pictures soon.

Returned this year (thanks kids), played with Lego as a kid ('80's). All bricks are good. Tbh in the '80's I got the brick sets just for bricks, so far new brickset has been bought. Ya know bricks, not models. ;)

Heya, our son wanted this game badly, he likes racing. Building the track was fairly straightforward, he's 4 and managed to do so easily. The cars are innovative... the rules... ehm... I mean, I play Battlefleet Gothic foremost. It has a rulebook with many many pages and I understand it a-z. But this race game has.. ...weird rules. So first thing I made was redesigning the rules so my son could actually race. Worked out fine. Kinda straightforward, but he's 4. I'll add new things when times goes by. I think Shave a Sheep, magicus and robochamp are more fun, especially shaun. alas. edit: upon rereading & trying the original rules do work and are fun! awkard

Ah so.. I live in the Netherlands, so lego shop I reckon.

Review: 2504 Spinjitzu Dojo
horizon replied to Cardinal Brick's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
My daughter bought this set with the money she got from her birthday and fact she had a great year at school (she got garmadon's fort & turbo shredder and still wanted more!). Managed to pick it up at a local webshop for under 33 euro. Pretty nice with the estimated 39,- you see around. Consider that a spinner figure costs 9 euro's over here... From how I see how she build and enjoyed it. The Japanese panels make it really great. And Sensei Wu is just grand cool (ofcourse the kids force me to play with him :) ). I think the playability is really high in this one. If I would rate it: Figures: 8.5/10 Parts 8/10 Fun Fun Fun 10/10 Design 9/10 Price 8/10 Grand Total 43.5/50
