  1. Heya, my daughter (7 almost 8) bough this last friday. She's a real builder. :) With little assistance from me (sorting blocks, adding the infamous headlight bricks for the four walls, clicking in windows) she completed the build. Took her about 3 hours per book. Great, brilliant building. Really. Lego at its best. Problem though... if you have one....
  2. I am perfectly fine with a 2013 ending for Ninjago. My sons room is already exploding with Ninjago (albeit the snakes have wandered to his sisters room, so now both rooms are filled :) ). I do hope the premises of pirates & stone army is the real one. It sounds cool. Which could lead to another steampunkish flying boat for the pirates, some cool stone 'vehicles', skeletons & snakes had enough more or less real life vehicles, a change in that would be good to end the series. What I also like to see is one or two architecture sets with buildings, that was a clear lacking in the snake theme. The small shrines are neat, a large snake temple would be better.
  3. Son got the rattlecopter yesterday, I had a good smile when I noticed the use of medieval helmets. :)
  4. Hi, my daughter, almost eight, loves to build LEGO. She has saved up lots of money and is really interested in one of the modular buildings. The following are still available: the Fire Brigade, Pet Shop, Grand Emporium & Town Hall. Due price the town hall may be too steep? In terms of building the other three are all cool. Which one would you advice?
  5. Hi, not books as such but short stories (with scenarios for the game battlefleet gothic)... it also has cool art. http://www.tacticalwargames.net/archive/rules/gothic/ddarkness.html Project Distant Darkness is the ruleset. The Art of Command and Distant feature the short stories. Starblade is a poem in the same universe: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0B-aXA8fc5AQ8Y2NlZWZiNzctZjNiMS00ZDgzLTljOTAtNzhkYzc4MmM0N2U0&hl=en_US
  6. All of them, all of them great. This is awesome Lego. :) 1) 1 10) 1 11) 2 16) 1
  7. The epic dragon is meh. The wing mechanism, with the handle, is not good for the design imo.
  8. Excellent build. That dragon: build, colours : all brilliant.
  9. That is using imagination & Lego!
  10. Wow! The elemental is a brilliant build.
  11. Aside of the fact I do like the Ninjago theme for what it is (I find skeletons in big monster trucks hilarious ;). The Ninjago books we got in the Netherlands do give real info on real ninja's and japanese myth. Which is cool. The best Ninjago sets for 'realistic' uses in MOC's like you wish to do: The Fire Temple is a great structure/architecture. Destiny's Bounty will have great use. The dojo brings more of those nice oriental windows.
  12. (youtube reviews irritate me, those hands get the itches on me. Weird). The Moria set looks very playable. A full fellowship would be cool to have.
  13. Hmm, the tracks seem to glide instead of roll.
  14. Very well done!!!
  15. Cool!!
  16. To me the summer 2012 Ninjago sets are the least cool of all Ninjago releases. The ultrasonic raider has some redeeming qualities in it. But looking at the whole range it is only an average set. Best Ninjago sets imo: Lightning Dragon battle, Fire Temple, Skull Truck, Destiny's Bounty, Earth Dragon, Ice Dragon.
  17. The Tank is cool, kinda. Quite big & spacey. I have no idea where my kids have room for it. heh -- A big pro for starters on the Ninjago line: All 4 Ninja's in ZX outfit plus all golden weapons are in the set. I do think my son will get the snake bike so he can have the grand motorcylce Ninjago race (Kai vs Lasha vs Chopov). The Mech is better then in the first pictures due posability. But not a hurray.
  18. After the Joker who attacked Batman in a more mental way, he was physical seen no match for Batman, it is a good aspect to bring in Bane who is a physical threat to the Batman. Plus he seems an intelligent terrorist. Seeing the league of shadows back is good. What will be crucial to the movie is how Catwoman is potrayed and written into the storyline.
  19. Yes, the blue current one looks better then the prototype. By far.
  20. @ mephistoteles, argh, I looked there and missed the last bit. Thanx. As for bumping: sorry. But to my humble defence: 1) usual a forum warns if a thread is 'dated', eg older then 90days. So I did not pay attention to the date at all. 2) I rather bump an old topic (aka "ARISE DEATH THREAD!") then create a new one telling the same which has been told before. That's why forums have a search forum, right? :)
  21. Great work. Would be cool to see a step by step guide on how you created that tower. If only the basics are shown.
  22. Good!
  23. Really, watch Batman Begins first (especially since the third one will have roots from Batman Begins in it ;) ). Batmans Begins is perhaps even a tad better then the Dark Knight.
  24. Starblade linky link: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B-aXA8fc5AQ8YmQ0M2YyYTQtZjZjYy00NTY1LWIxMjQtZTNkOGQzOTZjNjky/edit?pli=1 teaser: chapter one beginning: I Dark Crescent Moon A dark crescent moon touched the edges of despair. From a long distance they came, since the Fall overshadowed by doom. __ features cool art. :)
