Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Since the Marvels set is a disappointment, does it mean it's just 3 buildable figures of Carol, Monica and Kamala? Wouldn't be surprised at this point... -

Where did idea that Cmf 2 will also be D+ based came from? Was it confirmed by leakers or just a guess? Tbh I'd prefer Cmf to just be Mcu based not D+ specifically. -

Yes, she is a new leader of Ravagers and not a Guardian, but she is an important part of the movie, and should have been included in the sets. -

True, but you can reuse Gamoras head from Cmf on Quills minifig from smallest set if you want. Not an excuse for Lego not to make her minifig though. -

It’s not Disney limiting spoilers here. There was never big spoilers about either Antman 3 or GoTG 3 like Endgame or NWH. Marvel showed a lot of footage and infor about both movies at Sdcc in July 2022! So Lego new well in advance how Kang or High evolutionary looked like in movies. Here it looks more like penny pinching and laziness on Legos part. -

Actually baby Rocket mold is pre existing piece from Friends line. So we got no new molds for either Lyla or Cosmo. -

New GoTG 3 sets are a mixed bag. Builds look good, but minifigs, why Lego does what it does ? Groot has same torso and legs, and just gets armor piece to bulk him up. Even though he is clearly taller than other guardians and there’s longer legs and arms pieces that were reintroduced with Avatar theme. Seems logical for them to use those to make Groot more accurate. As for other minifigs - No helmet for Star-Lord again… Why Lego refuses to reuse old mold for helmet is beyond me. Same torso for all Guardians is boring, even if the piece is well detailed. - Drax has same inaccurate green head, when even James Gunn himself confirmed Draxs skin is grey! - no normal torso for Nebula again - They still haven’t given Mantis figure accurate face print with no pupils - No Gamora or High Evolutionary minifigs!!! 2 important characters and Lego refused to make them even though their looks were revealed back in July 2022 at Sdcc. So overall disappointing wave of sets, Lego continues to cut corners to save pennies. It seems like Harry Potter and Star Wars themes get preferential treatment over Marvel for whatever reason. -

Well this set is somehow terrible a good at the same time. The build for Giant-man is good, but I'm baffled by decision of Lego not to make any minifigs for Qantumania. We haven't gotten normal suit Antman figure since 2018, and Wasp with updated helmet yet. And Kang is supposedly next Thanos level villain, yet they don't make him as well. If they really wanted to make this Giant-man figure why not include minifigs as well here? Ant-man, Wasp and Kang could have easily been included here. Or they could have made this buildable figure as separate set and make normal minifgure playset as well with minifigs! I don't even know when there will be our next chance to get Ant-man and Wasp minifigs since we aren't getting them in 2023. -

Wow that Rivendell leak looks incredible! Basically enlarged version of Council of Elrond set, hopefully this means all characters from that scene in movie will be present in this set. Although I have to agree with many of you this doesn’t loo like 500$ set. Maybe Lego could have made a version of this scene for 200$ with enough detail to look as amazing as this one. Barad-Dur though looks like early prototype to me. And it makes sense since it’s probably late 2023/early 2024 release as previous rumors suggested, designers still have time to make it perfect. -

That wouldn’t work as Stark tower in Avengers 1 looks different from Avengers tower in AoU. The upper part of towers is completely redesigned in second movie. -

Not confirmed, but it's definitely a positive sign that Lego might be going back to 16/18 minifigs for licensed series. Marvel definitely needs more than 12 minifigs in CMF. -

New 2023 wave looks like a solid wave to me, with some obvious flaws. Morbius set is a must buy for memes alone, car is ok here, but nothing special. Ghost rider set is a monstrosity, I can’t unsee. Definitely a pass for me. Hulkbuster MkII looks amazing. Looks like Lego finally mailed design here, looks way better that already good 2018 version. But the biggest flaw is once again minifigs! I’m fine with reusing Okoye in cheaper set here, and new Bruce looks good except for the hairpiece. They can’t seem to nail Rufallos hair design in Infinity War. But 2 outriders and that’s it? For 50$, they could have at least included some other hero or villain! War Machine, Falcon or Corvus Glaive would have been perfect for this set! Corvus Glaive wouldn’t even need any new pieces! Minifig selection could have been way better! Quinjet set build wise is amazing! Looks accurate and maybe even the best Quinjet ever?! They even made a stand, like pseudo UCS, love it! The problem is once again minifigs. Iron Man and Loki look good, but the rest, what happened here? Caps face is printed in blue head as leaked minifig showed, so it will be super pale skin tone once again. Avengers 1 Thor uses fat Thor face which is inaccurate for this scene and looks plain bad. And Black Widow uses wrong hairpiece yet again! Lego already has mold for perfect BW Avengers 1 hair( Hollywood starlet hairpiece from Cmf), but they choose to use inaccurate hair here. And no leg prints for her yet she gets arm prints. And she has blue stun buttons from AoU instead of pistols she used in Avengers 1. PS they should have included Hawkeye and Hulk in this set as this is only Avengers 1 set we’ve gotten in ages. Might as well have included all original Avengers here even if it raised the price. -

So the rumored Black Panther transport sets turned out to be a bust? It looks highly detailed and cool, but I have to ask why make this set? They could have easily made scaled down version of BP mask like Venom head in 60-80$ range, not 300$ set! If they wanted to do UCS style BP set, they should have done giant Panther statue from Wakanda instead. And they didn't even bother including T'Challa minifigure in this 300$ set? Like what was Lego thinking here?! -

So with these new minifigures we have a confirmation that Shuri Is new Black Panther. Strangely enough she doesn't have any leg print in BP suit compared to other suit in small sets. M'Baku looks kinda boring tbh. Okoye looks amazing though, just skirt piece is needed to complete her look from movies. -

Great Advent calendar this year, big improvement over last years! Nebula has Thanos and infinity stones on her ugly Christmas sweater, and Drax baby Groot. Builds are ok, and so are reused figs. But why didn’t Lego give Star-Lord dual Mildred legs from Benetar set here? That set is still in production, so legs should be available to be used in calendar set as well. Oh well… I wouldn’t worry about this since we have GoTG 3 sets coming next year. Probably new versions of Drax and Nebula included there. -

Hope Lego artwork of Okoye and M'Baku means they are in big final set. I means why else would they include those characters on the box and design their minifigures? -

Wow, new Black Panther sets look great! First of all really happy they made small set form 1st movie with new T’Challa minifig in unpowered BP costume. As far as BP 2 sets go Namors throne is a must buy! Throne looks amazing, and Shuris submarine is fine as well. But minifigs are the real highlight. Shuri in BP suit looks cool and has leg print(?!), looks like Namor has wings printed on his legs, and Attuma looks interesting to say the least. Sunbird looks great as well, although a bit overpriced. Minifigs are again a highlight, and Nakia look great here, Not sure about Iron heart, pic is too blurry. -

Well no surprise Guardians Advent calendar sounds great, repeats of Benatar figures is expected, although it sad that Lego was cheap enough to not give Star-Lord dual molded legs here. Also why would Lego change Drax skin color? He looks very much grey in the movies, and I always thought his minifigs were accurate. Not sure how can they change his skin color to be more accurate… -

Both new Obi-Wan sets are amazing! Jedi starfighters build is ok, but Kaminoan minifig is great, must buy just for it alone. Scythe looks great as well, kinda like Krennics shuttle without a fin. And it has a lot of interior space, rare thing for sets of this size. Minifig wise, Obi-Wan here looks a bit plain, but inquisitors steal the show. Grand Inquisitor looks good, but not as good as 2015 version(red-eyes now instead of yellow "dark side eyes"), Fith brother looks great, hope he has second expression though as one that was shown is rather plain. Third Sister is rather plain looking though, especially with no leg print and inaccurate hairpiece. But overall Schythe looks great for 100$! -

Color me surprised, I lost hope for P2 Cody, and Lego has gone and made him! Description sounds great At-Te sounds like the best set of the wave for me! Shame we don’t get ep3 Obi-Wan in a set though. -

Seeing a lot of people here saying demand for Phase2 Cody isn’t that big. So you’re either lying to yourself, or been living under a rock in a Tatooine desert. Let’s face the facts, he’s a popular character from a Clone wars show, which a whole generation of SW fans grew up watching. These kids are now young adults and have disposable income to buy stuff like lego. And they want to buy a popular character from a show they love. And obviously Lego had plenty of chances to make P2 Cody in the past: 2012-2014 CW wave of sets were a perfect place for him. If not that 2020 Grievous starfighter was a perfect inclusion for Cody as he literally appears when Obi-Wan duels Grievous on Utapau, yet instead Lego included random Airborne trooper. And before someone says “but he needs a new mold”, just look at how many new mold Lego made in recent history which will probably never be used again (Knights of Ren helmets, Unkar Plutt, Teebo head just to name a few). And unlike above mentioned examples, updated P2 clone helmet could be reused for other P2 clones. So, to sum up, it makes perfect sense that a lot of people want P2 Cody , and Lego is missing out by not making that figure.
