Ghehe yeah that is what pains my mind at the moment, how to make a good representation of a part of the city / districts. But I am thinking about creating MOC's for each district and ofc the citadel. Ghehe ok I am going to think about it, but I would like to finish my book first, or at least finish a few more chapters. Thanks to all for the nice comments! A new "small" MOC will be up soon, depicting yet another part of the first Chapter

The Battle of Korsven [Part 6]

I like this one very much! It's compact but telling such a story! Compliment to both story and MOC, in my opinion a great combination! -
Hi Guys, This is my second MOC in the Greylands story. I have build a small one just to provide more story. I hope you'll enjoy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 1.1: Snip's Plan Thinking about his mission ahead, Snip finally arrived at his safe house. He was sure that the captain overlooking the city had seen him, so he took a different route to shake off some unwanted shadows. The streets in the Dark-District were very narrow as all scum, low-life, travelers and other undesired persons lived there. The houses were built in such close proximity to each other that opposite neighbors could shake hands from their attic windows. As Snip stood in front of his door he checked his surroundings and then pulled the lever above the door instead of the doorknob. This lever was the only way to open the door; a built-in safety to avert thieves and other riffraff. Once inside Snip lit some torches on the desk with his tinder-box. The small chamber lightened up. He hang his clothes and weapons on the wooden manikin and walked further in the room. He looked briefly in the mirror and smiled at his reflection. His dark eyes and half-long brown hair were always admired by the lady-folk. His charm was part of his arsenal and he knew it. 'Back to work' he mumbled, taking a last look. His desk was full of maps and letters with all the information he gathered in the last few years. Next to the desk was a big concrete model of the city on the wall. The city was built as a circle. With the citadel in the middle, five walls stretched out to the defense wall surrounding the city. These five arms, each containing its own gate, separated the five districts of the city. The Dark-District functioned as a buffer for the rest of the city. The Craft-District was built at the left side of the Dark-District. Here all craftsman lived and flourished with their respective jobs. In the northwest of lies the cities Elite-District. All mages, high-ranking officials and advisors lived there. This district was also known for its clean streets and managed foliage. The northeast was known as the Market-District. All of the cities food was grown and sold there by vertical farmers. The last district was the Free- or Labor-District. This district was inhabited by folk who had a general job and could pay for an average house. Most of them consisted of soldiers, farmers and craftsman. To navigate the upcoming journey to the citadel Snip attached a string to the citadel forming a path through the city to his house. He had carefully chosen his route, depicting the hurdles he needed to take. He had to take the gate from the Dark-District into the Craft-District and from the Craft-District into the Elite-District. To take the last gate from the Elite-District should prove to be the most difficult task, except from stealing the jewel of course... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- More pics @ https://www.flickr.c...157654745440943 C&C is welcome

Awesome build! I like the liveliness!

For me it's definately the latter "Artistic" design. I can off course appreciate the Traditional design, but artistic is my preference.

Great small MOC, but I agree with Isundir, it could benefit from a short story / description...

Hi Everybody, Before I discovered the wonderfull world of Eurobricks and the rest of the world wide web I decided to write a fantasy book. After my Dark Ages I picked up the idea to create MOCs to display my chapters. So I started out my first story line MOC (also before checking on Eurobricks). I do know of the high level builds here and that my own level is nowhere near, but I still wanted to post this first one, also in relation to the next one (who will be of a much higher level I hope). I am looking forward for some positive critisism and I hope you'll enjoy it: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chapter 1: - Character 1 - Snip The market square was crowded. Sounds of merchants trying to sell their stuff to noisy buyers, the smell of food being cooked and the always present guards watching from under their helmets. Overview-Left by Draken Nek, on Flickr The people seem to look happy due to the absence of an imminent threat, but their hearts were still grasped by fear. The commanding general of the city is a feared man, but he and his mages are seldom seen amongst the commoners. Peace is somewhat established, at least in the city itself. Shady merchant about to be robbed by Draken Nek, on Flickr Through the crowd of visitors a cheery young man appeared, laughing and evading all the peasants and travelers on his path. When you could view his movements from a higher perspective, you could see some similarities with a panther stalking his pray in the jungle. The persons that know him closest would recognize that Snip was on a mission. His black hood and cape provided cover for his weapons as this alleged master thief is not afraid of any competition or resistance. His colleagues had informed him that he could find something of great value in this city. Something the fearful general kept in his citadel. Something that could change the lives of so many... Something shiny... Snip by Draken Nek, on Flickr ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cheers, Schreeuwwitje
