(In the timeline of BOBS, the events of this build happened just prior to the Quick Claw trade run organized by the Coyle Shipping Co.) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It is quite a busy day down at Berth 22 in the Port of Terreli. So many people coming and going. Let's investigate. Here's the last of the offload from the Dark Narwhal. Viscount Alexander Doblin is inspecting the fine fabric he has ordered. Hopefully his daughter will be satisfied with the quality of material going into her replacement wedding gown. He has also been given word that cannibals have been rumored to be on one of the newly discovered islands. Now if only he could find a captain willing to deliver the three miscreants who ruined the original wedding dress to said island. All this so that Alexander can keep his daughter from committing murder. "By the Goddess! Frink!" Captain Prows roared, "Get Camron and Saywer to clear this dock! We need to get that special cargo on board and covered up." "Ooh, pretty," Frink coos. No one on the Dark Narwhal, from the captain on down, knows what this strange device is supposed to do. All they know is that they've been commissioned by the astronomer Solas Midori to deliver it to his observatory on Nelissa. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Meanwhile, First Mate duBroise has finished provisioning the ship, when he saw Dearji with a banana near her lips, laughing. "Ah, Tolan." Dearji sighed suggestively, "Meet one of my fellow Wandering Acolytes, Kali the Phlin." "Oh, umm, good day, Priestess," Tolan replied while thinking, Does Dearji know what it looks like she is suggesting with that banana? Of course she does. Dearji really enjoys teasing Tolan. Kali is suddenly shocked from the mirth of the moment by someone very important showing up. High Priestess Ylsbeth the Starcatcher, youngest High Priestess of the Crahaish neh Triuri, has come to collect Captain Prows for private meeting before he casts off. Following in her wake is Ylsbeth's current lover, Consort Taliesin the Lightbringer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jasmine Coll, prostitute at the near-by Ready Scimitar, is drinking away the memories of abuse at the hands of her most recent client. Madame K gave her the bottle and told Jasmine to relax while Gronk deals with the man. Maddame K made sure that the tavernroom's doors were bolted shut before Gronk takes care of 'business.' With the bottle rack in front of the window, no one outside can get a clear view of the indignity that Jasmine's former client is currently suffering. Up on the balcony, some Corrington junior officers are enjoying their last afternoon on liberty. One young officer has just been promoted to Lt. Commander, and is waving about the new sword that came with his promotion. His fellow crewman is likely going to be grumbling about 'political advancement' for the next month. (Just a pic to show the roof. Click to see larger.) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the barracks for the Guarda de Noblessa. The Guarda are a volunteer militia made up of only sons of Eslandola's noble families, usually the second, third, or even fourth sons that don't stand to inherit any lands. The barracks were once the Royal Portside Residence, until a more opulent palace was built farther to the east. It seems quite fitting to the Guarda that only nobles reside here. The Guarda have no set uniform. Instead they wear their family colors and crests proudly. Many of the other militias find them pompous and overblown. This is Jeorge Ziti, third son of Count Rodolfo Ziti. He is of some relation to the Queen, but don't ask him how unless you want to listen to a three hour rambling account of his familial history. Wait, is that Byron Messuir? Yup. What is that Corrington 'Political Officer' doing here? He never did say what that important 'legal matter' was. It doesn't matter now. The Dark Narwhal sets sail tomorrow. Byron will be staying in Terreli. Some new pennants have been hung today. Apparently it is someone's birthday. The Guarda keep themselves well stocked with arms. It may have been a bit foolish to store the loaded pistols with their barrels pointed up. Here the Guarda are storing three casks, filled with diferent vintages of uisge. Huh? What? Is that? Could it really be the Cup? Burried there all this time. I wonder how long it will take for someone to discover it? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (And now, as promissed, it's time to put some Green in your Day.) This is Hambrose Fortian. Years ago he was a junior officer in the Oleon Navy. One day he repeated a disgusting rumor about a certain Priest of Poseidon's 'preferences.' He was promptly stripped of his rank, dishonorably discharged, and sentenced to be hanged for his offense. Hambrose only avoided the noose because his uncle donated a sizable sum to the Temple of Poseidon, and his sentence was reduced to banishment. Now Hambrose is a citizen of Eslandola, and hires himself out to whatever captain that will have him. Behind him is Commodore Artorious Flamelle, a former crewmate of Hambrose's. He had taken great offense to the way Hambrose had gotten away from the noose. Hambrose's drunken singing has gotten him recognized. "Stepped out of the li-ine, Like a sheep runs from the herd, Marching out of ti-ime, To my lovve beat now . . . the only way I know! "One light, one mind, flashing in the dark, Blinded by the silence of a thousand broken hearts, 'For crying out loud!' she screamed onto me," Just as Artoruious was about to was about to skewer the miscreant blasphemer, Petty Officer Danshiel joined in the song. "A free for all, **** 'em all, you are your own sight!" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's some detail shots. Click to see larger. The waterline: The street empty of figs and other stuff: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Comments would be greatly appreciated. (Oh, and can anyone name the Green Day song? Without using a search engine, that's cheating.) Edit: Replaced the last thumbnail with correct image/link.

The Empire of Eslandola: Sign-up and Discussion

I just finished a 32x28 build. This will be depicting the bustling Terreli port before the Dark Narwhal joins the Quick Wing trade run. All figs are positioned and ready for photography, but will likely have to wait until tomorrow. I have several other things to do today, after spending most of my time with my bricks.- 780 replies

Dearji the Windsong suggests Torrach as the name for Island 5, and Gruagach or Oigh as a name for Island 6.- 780 replies

The story did come out better than the build, but its simplicity is appropriate here. Is the trade run referenced here either the January or February MRCA?

The current show has been on the air for nearly ten years, it began in May 2006. There is a sizable age group of former viewers.

Copied from my comment on the Disney CMF thread: If Goofy is in the D2C, then I would think it could be the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Goofy is the only principle character that would be a fig from the show not in the Disney CMF series. Pluto would plausibly come with this as well. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy all look like how they appear on the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse show.

Thanks all. The curtain material I've used before. It is simply a rubber matting for air-drying dishes. It attaches real well to the standard 1x2 brick with clip.

Thanks all. That door was made from the lids from a pair of Brickarms crates. I put them on a 4x6 black plate and used a 1x4 snot brick to attach it to the top of the door frame, and a 1x4 plate at the bottom for stability. The handles are simply a pair of sticker gems that I got at Dollar General.

The problem with that is that a lot of people add a new post rather than editing their existing post. The idea behind the registration thread is so that the guild leaders can evaluate and score our builds for guild points.

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion

The Cheshire Cat just seems the wrong color to me, but I may just be remembering the night scenes from the movie, where he is purple. I'll get him, but probably will only use the head. Stitch! I must buy at least four. Both of my female cousins will want one, and I need at least two for myself. One to keep as is, and one (maybe more) to part out. Ursula seems pretty good as is. I can't wait until someone uses her for GOH, or even funnier, BOBS. Ariel has the hair the minidoll mermaid version should have had. I only have the human version, who's hair actually looks correct for that potion of the movie. I think I'd replace the head with something more feminine. I have a couple to choose from. I'd also give her a Friends fork. Is Aladdin flesh or medium dark flesh? If he is medium dark flesh, I have a better head for him. I hope we get the Prince Ababuah (I think that is how it's spelled) version in a later series. I want that outfit. The outfits for the Sultan and Jafar as well. The Genie is one I'm a little iffy about. The headgear separation line is a little too distinct in the image. It was the same with the Shakespeare fig too, but in hand I found it acceptable. Hopefully this will be the same. I need Hook for parts. Peter Pan I will probably change out the headgear for blond hair, so that he can be my Errol Flynn Robin Hood. Donald, Daisy, and Mickey I don't really need, but I have a use for Minnie's skirt. Maleficent is nearly perfect. All she needs is a trans-neon green stone, which I have. I may need multiples for parts. Syndrome is good as is, Another multiples for parts. The Pizza Planet Alien is one I never got, so this updated version will do nicely. Multiples. Heads and hands go to creature figs, and bodies get used with other heads and hands. Mr. Incredible is okay, but his legs look too short because of the printing. The belt should have been on the torso, and the 'briefs' should have had a steeper angle. I get why they did it that way, but he looks more like the fat Mr. Incredible, not the fit version that is in that suit. I'd hope to see the original costume in fig. I can't read what's on the tile. Could that be the Mr. Incredible Sings album that gets talked about in the commentary from the DVD? Again, multiples for parts. I can't tell much about Alice, but I have a better face for her. I have a use for the Buzz balaclava. I didn't really like the original Buzz armor, and I feel the same about this one. I hope the torso and legs are usable elsewhere.- 4,155 replies
