  1. I wonder if part of the rationale behind creating this set is to encourage Marvel display builders to buy Modular sets. And then those people will want to populate the displays with appropriate figs, so they buy other licensed themes for fig parts. This is how you turn a Marvel fan buying Lego into an AFOL.
  2. And in the cartoony sets he is minifig sized.
  3. This is what I mean by "according to Marvel." Yes, some of his comic appearances have taken liberties with his size, but for Lego representation (particularly in relation to the current Spidey figs) a fig of more moderate size would be better.
  4. It all depends on the licensing deal. That kind of figure line is more likely to pursue an additional likeness license.
  5. A bigfig Kingpin makes no sense given his actual stats according to Marvel. A bulkier figure, yes. Some extra height, yes. But Kingpin doesn't come anywhere near Thanos or Hulk in size. Something along the size of Axl from Nexo Knights, or Leatherhead from TMNT would work best. Korg is somewhat in that category too, so if a large body does get made for him, and it doesn't have molded rock shapes, that could work. (All speculation on my part.) I hope it happens. We've got a white man-bat. So why not a white werewolf, too? We could get both, as Morbius has a man-bat form (he could be light bley, though), but probably not in the same set. Morbius would likely come in a Spidey set with Blade, and I think Blade's mother as a vampire (if I recall the 90s cartoon episode correctly). Maybe even Dr. Connors, as it was his technology that was being used to turn people into a new type of vampire. Man-wolf would go part way to being able to make a Spider-Man Unlimited scene. I don't know enough about his character in 616 to make a guess at what kind of set it could be. On the Bugle, I think they did the right thing in using this design to represent it. I likely won't buy it, though, because it does nothing for my build needs. I'll try to BL the sticker sheets, and some of the figs and parts, if I can. I'll also download the instructions for future reference.
  6. I think that has more to do with manufacturing limitations. What printing machines are available for new prints, and what can be folded into existing print production. Then there's representing an iconic staple of the comics to Marvel's satisfaction. Add to that several characters are likely off limits due to Marvel's own plans for them. I understand why no Eddie Brock, because of the Sony restrictions. The Venom we've been getting is generic enough that he could be any of the characters that have carried the symbiote. Even Carnage has left Cletus Kasady behind. Firestar is the figure I never expected to see. Though she is like Harley Quinn, in that she was invented for a TV show, she never gained the kind of popularity that the clown-obsessed psycho did. All the stickers and prints make me hopeful for future comic/cartoon sets.
  7. One nitpick: it's Joseph "Robbie" Robertson. I wonder, did Lego get permission to invent a look for Ron Barney, or did Marvel provide them with an image of what he should look like? There are often drawings that don't get put into the actual comics, but are kept as reference for potential future use.
  8. Morbius is on a screen sticker inside. Both Blade and Punisher are in Morbius stories. This strongly suggests Morbius story Spidey sets are coming for the period when around the Sony Morbius movie release.
  9. The dark blue bracket way out of position, to the point that it overlaps other parts. Here we go now. What is that Friends part doing in JJ's hands? Is that supposed to be some kind of laser pointer? Ditko Spidey sticker! So much to go through, and this thread is moving so fast. That's Lego's way of referencing Netflix Marvel.
  10. Lego has made those kinds of render mistakes before, and on Marvel no less. There's still one on the Shop@Home site right now. Spider-Man & Doctor Octopus Mech Battle, fifth image, the Spidey mech's right leg.
  11. Come on, Lego, give us comics geeks Lee Kirby.
  12. I wonder if we'll see a tile printed as Now Magazine, the one that the Daily Bugle produced (edited by Carol Danvers).
  13. Exactly. It also fills out the thickness of the arms to achieve the classic version of his arms design.
  14. One that would satisfy may is Lee "Your Man At The Bugle" Kirby.
  15. Yes, they are small differences to the point of being nitpicky, but a lot of classic Spidey fans can get that way when it concerns the Ditko suit.
  16. The current Spidey head doesn't manage that hooked curve at the top of the eyes, though the small eye on the Mighty Micros Spidey comes closest. Ditko did the slit eye look quite a lot.
  17. Spider-Man & Peter Parker Spider-Gwen & Gwen Stacy Venom & possibly Eddie Brock Carnage is in the set, so could we get Cletus Kasady?
  18. Obligatory window washer scaffolding,
  19. I can see Lego doing a set exclusive variant. A well done Steve Ditko Spider-Man would be quite welcome (web printed boots). Lego's teaser post looks a bit like his art. The story in the teaser seems to be lifted from Amazing Spider-Man #13. On a side note, how many cameras do we think will be in the set?
  20. Since I consider the box sets of minifigs falling under this category, a non-series set for "minifig collectors" seems something still appropriate to discuss here.
  21. Set of monochrome minifigures. Releases June 1st. 346 pieces. USD $35, 35€ , £30, AUD $60 ___________________________________ Some information from the very active Marvel thread that might be of relevance here.
  22. So far for this year City is Town Center to suburbs, Fire and Police, Wildlife Rescue (southern Africa), and the upcoming Stunts/Racing. Sprinkled in the middle have been some small infrastructure sets, and the upcoming sets are likely to have some TV crew included. I could see an Action News theme following this.
  23. All I see of Star Lord is his torso, mouth and right eye. The brightness of the image, coupled with the fig being seen through trans purple makes any nougat color wash out.
  24. How is anyone seeing hair in that Benatar image? The printing on the canopy obscures too much for my screen.
