Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
gedren_y replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I mentioned this on IG, on a leaked image of the character: White Vision could easily fit in with an updated Unitron theme. I am a Marvel fan, but don't actually express that through my Lego builds. Some characters only have one or two parts that I want, while others I could repurpose (like the aforementioned White Vision) in near completion. This is on par with most other CMFs. -

And it could just be people repeating the speculation here. It has happened before.

As I had mentioned before, there is the potential for a new red and white dragon faction utilizing the flag design created for the Ideas set Ship in a Bottle. So many of the needed parts for such a line are currently in production. Spreading the warehousing needs for the parts across other existing sets would go at least partway to getting an Ideas submission past the review stage. Some of the issue seems to be that these stand-alone nostalgia sets consistently land in the upper price range bracket, with only a small percentage of the parts being what Castle AFOLs are actually interested in. B&P cannot keep up with the demand for the parts, so the costs become somewhat prohibitive. We need to convince Lego that actual set sales would increase if the parts that are truly in demand came in more cost effective sets. Buyers would likely be more inclined to spend a greater amount on Lego over time if their interests were being met by smaller sets, than would be spent on the large sets being currently offered.

How about a Gamecube that unfolds into scenes from its popular Mario games? Both the N64 and Wii would be too small for any kind of major set without a 'screen' build. None of the handhelds make sense on their own, but the GBA (the original more than the SP) is possible when paired with the Gamecube.

Account for TCs and religious institutions, and we'd have plenty. -
Ideas has done it again. There is an IG leak of a good sized GWP, a small sailboat with brick built sails. And I do mean brick, not plates.

I seriously doubt it. Most of these kinds of stickers in the Harry Potter theme are made from production images of set decorations that don't always make it into camera frame, or from images of the Wizarding World theme park attractions. Where some decorations get modified by Lego so that they make sense in relation to the minifigs, very little beyond the stone pattern stickers are Lego generated designs.

Has anyone in the US been able to find the Raya and the Last Dragon polybag in store? It never got listed on the US Shop@Home, and no retail stores around here ever received it. -

The fact that these sets each have a different Spider-Man, but none of them have Toby or Andrew's suits, doesn't surprise me in the least. The sets are an array of goodies, and I will likely get 76185 Spider-Man at the Sanctum Workshop. -

Just saw what everyone is discussing. My thoughts: Now I need that CMF. -
I would think an Armada 3-in-1 could be done like the current Medieval Castle 3-in-1. It would be an interesting challenge.

That's the primary assumption because of a casting call for the show asking for actors/actresses comfortable with nudity. There is some hope that it was due to the needs of some characters requiring a certain level of theatrical make-up, but if that were the case, and the content of the show was acceptable for Lego's guidelines, something would have leaked about a planned revival of the license by now.

The whole premise was supposed to be kid created Lego character music video content. The licensing costs is about the music library, and then there's the cost of moderators for the content. That is if the app will work with your phone. That makes the sets themselves overpriced for the parts value. Higher than average costs plus difficulty in use equals weak theme. The whole augmented reality system doesn't really mesh with building play in any event. That's one of the reasons why Lego Super Mario is doing so much better with young kids (though that recent video was ridiculous).

The problem is that Lego failed to properly execute the design. The fig needed to be in Metallic Green, just like the recent Lamborghini Technic model should have been. -

I have my own theory about the main villain in NWH, and I would love to have that character as a minifig. Check the spoiler tag if you dare. -
I don't see KIngpin as a bigfig. He's just not that big. If he is to be larger than a standard minifig, he'd be closer to Axl from Nexo Knights, or Leatherhead from TMNT. If he were to come in a set, I'd see it being the lab he maintains in the Chrysler Building in the 90s cartoon. There are a number of possibilities for other characters beyond Spidey. A rerelease of Hobgoblin would work. Of course Alistair Smythe in his hoverchair, and maybe some miniature Spider Slayers. Most of the characters that make up the various Sinister Six rosters have worked for, or attacked, Wilson Fisk at one time or another.

I would add to @TeriXeri's idea with the fact that quite a number of torsos from across the various Castle themes would work well with white helms, and weapons. The red torso Royal Knights could be given some upgrades. Jayko's faction design from the first two years of KKII would do well with some white. You could make a whole new faction of Vikings with white, by giving a number of them white arms. A bunch of Fantasy Era dark blue torsos look good with white (some Vikings torsos could work here). Both the Kingdoms Lion Knights, and the 2013 Castle Lion Knights, could expand their variety with the inclusion of white. There are other possibilities for new factions when you look farther afield. It wouldn't be hard to create a red and white Dragons faction with parts currently available thanks to the printed flag design from the Ideas Ship In A Bottle, and the Ninjago dragon sword hilt now in white, found in numerous Monkie Kid sets. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the vein of new faction creation, parts created in the last couple of years also make brick built shields for them more feasible, including new uses for existing Lego sticker designs. Lego Ideas submissions with new faction ideas wouldn't be dependent on the ability to make your own stickers, or prints, real or digital. I see all kinds of possibilities.

Someone in need of a quantity of hull parts may want to consider the upcoming Super Mario set 71391 Bowser's Airship.

I didn't say it was a bad thing. Just that it fits the theme it comes in well. It's the same eye printing as on the skunk. I didn't post it at the time, but when I first saw those eyes, I thought Lego might be preparing to do a Bambi set.

Now that the Minecraft head isn't theme specific, I have some ideas on its use. And the types of parts one gets with the Marvel mechs has me interested in the set for the green parts. I bought multiples of the Thanos mech for similar reasons. Red Skull may be of use to me for other reasons as well. I get that for adult builders of the Marvel theme this set is a bit lackluster, but kids interested in action play will likely enjoy the set. -
It's the eye print that makes the sheep Disney.

It is entirely possible that a cape can have hip connection tabs that could simulate the 'skirt', and create the billowing look built into other representations of Scarlet Witch. I doubt they'll go that route, though. It's more likely that Scarlet Witch will have side leg printing, as CMF budgets usually allow for that.
