Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
gedren_y replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I was sourcing my info from this wiki which is primarily sourced from the comics. The show you mean was actually pretty faithful to the comics. -

The printing presses actually are in the basement of the Daily Bugle. -

I'm quite disappointed with the Watcher design they chose for the show. I hadn't seen much of the promotional material, so this version isn't what I was expecting. For the figure it is, it's okay, and the set is inventive in its way. I might not bother with the show now, though. I expect Korg to have a recolor of the headphones from Monkie Kid. I'm hoping it will be more than one color, though. I'd be okay with it be printed, but dual molded would be better. -
I thought there were Light Aqua parts, but they are Glow White. Lots of good stuff for fantasy builds. I could probably make most of a ghost ship with just these parts. Sandy's mech I have no use for, and surprise, a render build mistake in an official image (again). Pigsy's tank is a bit more useful, but I may just see if the parts I want become available on B&P.

The Sanctuary II build isn't really worth the bother, but the parts could be used for some improved Chitauri gliders for a Battle of New York layout. I don't really build Marvel (any of the licenses really), but I've picked up sets for parts. I have a couple of the previous Thanos minifig, and I'm tempted to army build those, with the new version as their commander. -
The Hogwarts referred to is microscale, not microfigure scale, and includes minifigs on a display stand.

There has been a rise in retro gaming since the pandemic (me included), and a number of more obscure Mario games are being marketed these days. It stands to reason that Lego would capitalize on this with the character packs, as they are an easy sell to that market. Additionally, a lot of that market likely have kids in the right age range that the gameplay of this theme could appeal to. Parent and child crossover appeal is a major accomplishment for a theme, and I've seen that happen firsthand with Super Mario.

Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
gedren_y replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
As a fan of Marvel comics, and a number of the cartoons based on them (far closer than the movies get these days), I have my own theories and hopes for the MCU. Because of this, I do come across leaks, and like to discuss them. That discussion is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe thread. My own speculation of the NWH plot, based in part on a leak, has me hoping that a couple of specific characters could be in the post-release NWH sets. In the spoiler tag I'm listing the characters, and a link to my reasoning in the other thread. Open at your own risk. I may try to acquire the Punisher fig, but like others would change the head. The multi-character use of the black/white dual molded legs makes me hopeful that they will see even wider use elsewhere. If that proves to be the case, I may just wait for a cheaper variant, with likely just the torso print, to become available. On the matter of Doc Ock; I don't care for the reused variant for the character, but love the arms build. I'll be looking into acquiring just those parts to create my own variant. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
gedren_y replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
With the minifig scale Hero Factory Lego proved it could do better than the tired old Star Wars droids, and the clunky Exo-Force. For my needs, I'd prefer a take on the 09 Gresh, but I'd understand why Tahu would be Lego's choice. Tahu is easily the most recognizable throughout both runs, though the 08 Tahu is a bit of an outlier. -
This is about a dream Marvel video game tie-in, for a game that is only being rumored about (again). It's something Lego wouldn't even consider, given the other half of this potential game's franchise. Marvel vs Mortal Kombat. Set ideas include: early Ninjago style fight arenas Marvel characters in the various realms of MK Outworld intruding on 616 character packs with Marvel characters in MK variant suits, and MK characters in Marvel style costumes (Lin Kuei Spider-Man, Sheeva in Mystique's classic outfit, Magneto as one of the Elder Gods, Raiden as one of the classic X-Men . . .)

Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

When I hope for a classic Yondu minifig, this it the version I want. On the discussion of movie spoilers/critiquing, this argument has been had before in this very thread. Nemo has weighed in both times. This thread is for the discussion of the sets themselves. Sometimes that means comparing what is known/leaked to be in the sets to trailers/leaked movie or TV show materials. That content should be in spoiler tags. Critiques on the movies/TV shows alone belong in the Multimedia forum, but I think linking to a post there so that people can find out what you have to say should be fine. -
Donkey Kong Country isn't all that different in gameplay from Super Mario World, though the grasping and swinging function would be difficult to pull off, unless the scanner box weight can be reduced significantly. The Legend of Zelda works better as a minifig. Even in the 3D versions his nose isn't all that prominent, so the standard minifig head design works, though the faces would be more like Exo-Force (or maybe early Clone Wars). I see sets working more like Minecraft. Pokémon is never going to happen. Mega Brands has too much of a hold on the license, and they are pretty accurate.

I could see Donkey Kong as a playable character, with bigfig scale arms, and posable legs. Using this system, Donkey Kong Country isn't out of the realm of possibility. Diddy Kong would be easy to do as a buildable character.

There's a minidoll squirrel mold, but it is too big. It needs to be closer to the trophy figure size, instead of the old game figure size. The skunk mold from a while back could make a passable badger.

Since JJ is the one who recruits Mac Gargan to become Scorpion, I doubt he'll be in NWH. They haven't even introduced Dr. Connors yet, but I could see him getting a little screen time.. The Lizard comes before Scorpion. -

Or Nearly Headless Nick. -
The delay looks to be a production availability issue, because Marvel is getting the same delay, so I think B&P may take even longer.

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion

Marvel is getting a delayed August release, too. It's looking like some kind of supply chain issue, whether it's production, or something else. -

It's looking like the US release delay may be about production capacity. The upcoming City Wildlife Rescue sets are also getting an August 1 release in the US. -

I feel the exact opposite. I was hoping for a stickered piece, as I have another use for that. -
Lego has made monochrome figs before, plenty of times, so I think the thing that they have never done before (mentioned in the initial leaks) is take a stand on an issue that can be politically divisive. Now about what is in the set: I can see the value of some of these parts for a number of MOCs, but since I'm not into Lego as display pieces, I'll probably wait to see what of this becomes available on B&P before I decide whether or not to buy.

Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

For the comic Spidey sets next year, I'm hoping for a Morbius set. Pretty much all the parts exist for a good Lego recreation of the later Morbius storyline from the 90s TV show, and Blade is part of that too. It could have Spidey, mostly human Morbius, man-bat Morbius, Blade, and a female Vampire villain (Blade's mother, IIRC). -
Not a series, a build. A rainbow colored display with figs matching the colors. It will probably be listed under Minifigures on the Lego site, though.

Someone needs a Disney+ subscription, or some DVDs of the 90s Spider-Man TV show.
